This was our first visit, and I have to say, it was a surprisingly enjoyable experience from start to finish. We initially decided to stop in after seeing some of the food my coworkers had ordered. While I wasn't able to identify exactly what they had from the menu, everything coming out of the kitchen looked fresh and appealing, which convinced us to give it a try. The smash burgers were excellent--cooked well, flavorful, and made to order. We also tried the lamb taco, which was very good and offered something a little different from the usual menu options. My daughters ordered the calamari and enjoyed it as well. For dessert, we sampled the churros. They were fresh and had a nice texture, making for a solid finish to the meal. One of the highlights was the fresh-squeezed juice. We tried the mango, and it was outstanding. You can definitely taste the difference when it's made fresh. My only observation is that the bottles are a little small, so it's easy to finish one quickly. That said, the staff was accommodating and even provided a couple of cups so we could enjoy fountain drinks as well. The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, patient, and eager to help. There was a small mistake with our order, but it was corrected immediately without any issues. That's often a better indicator of customer service than getting everything perfect the first time. Special recognition goes to Hector Ramos at the register. He was professional, courteous, and made a great first impression on behalf of the restaurant. The only minor challenge was an occasional language barrier, but it never impacted the friendliness of the staff or our overall experience. Everyone remained kind, respectful, and committed to helping us. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area has umbrellas and a nice atmosphere, although it was a little warm during our visit. The indoor dining area was comfortable and inviting. One thing to keep in mind is that much of the food appears to be prepared fresh to order. Because of that--and the volume of takeout orders--it may take a few extra minutes compared to a typical fast-casual restaurant. In my opinion, the wait is worth it. A little patience goes a long way when the food is being made fresh. For a first visit, this was an easy five-star experience. Good food, friendly service, fresh ingredients, and a welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back, and I'll be interested to see if future visits are as strong as the first. Taco Bamba is a quick service counter style ordering where you seat yourself. Sometimes you order at the bar and others at the front, it is confusing at times, but everyone is friendly so I don't mind. They have 3 televisions over the bar playing the World Cup with quite a gathering. Food wise, you can't go wrong with The Jeffrie, the Chiko taco is my favorite, and all of the classics are great as well. read more

I have heard a lot of good things about Taco Bamba and decided to try it because it is closer to my house than my usual/favorite taco spot, Bandit Taco in Leesburg. We went to the restaurant around 5:30 today and there was a decent crowd in there, so I was growing confident that we would have a good experience. Unfortunately, we did not. We ordered about 8 items, a combo of tacos, nachos and other items. The person who took our order was awesome, super friendly and enthusiastic, so we were off to a great start. We got our order number and waited about 10 minutes until they called our number. When I walked up to the pick up counter, the young man verified my number and handed me a single taco, then just stared at me as I looked (and felt) confused. I told him there are about 7 more items on my order and again, he just looked at me. I stood there awkwardly for about 5 full minutes while they called other numbers. Finally, I went back to my table and my wife took the receipt and went to the counter. 10 minutes later, she came back with the rest of the order. We had trouble figuring out which food belonged to each person, so we took some guesses and dug in. The initial taco that we ordered was now cold, but I ate it anyway and it turned out to be the best one, it was a carnitas taco. The others were a total letdown. The Pollo El Carbon was totally dry, the fish taco was so wet that when I picked it up, the tortillas were soggy and the bottom fell out, and it had no taste at all. The nachos, we ordered them with ground beef, came with chunks of beef that was also dry and not tasty, so nobody ate that at all. I saw that this place had won "Best Taco" in Northern VA Magazine, and frankly, I suspect they had a lot of friends voting for them because this isn't even the best taco in Sterling, much less NOVA. I will happily go back to Taco Bandit and actually enjoy my food. I did like the medium and verde sauces, and the hot sauce was good too, so Taco Bamba has done a good job there. read more

Came to Taco Bambo with a group of around 20. At first they had us setup outside as we requested. Everything was great. The weather turned and they already had space ready for us inside. I wish we would have taken photos, but my gosh, everything was so good. The traditional tacos transported us back to when we lived in Texas. The flautas were next level!!! I came to this Taco Bamba location today. I ordered 2 lettuce wraps and some wings. It was not a complicated order. Initially the cashier took my order well, but the service went downhill after making my order. They took an incredibly long time to complete my order. I waited for at least 25 mins for a very simple order. While I was waiting, there were 10 people who got their orders ahead of me, and I came way before them in the line. The manager saw me waiting without any food in front of me and did not attend to me at all. He didn't ask if I was okay or if there was an issue with my order. I even asked the server about my order, and all he could say was that they were "working on it." He didn't even check with them in the back to see how much longer it would be to get my food. After waiting, I went to the cashier and just asked for a refund. No one, not even the manager, apologized for the inconvenience. While getting the refund, the cashier asked me if I wanted a partial refund, which didn't make any sense due to the fact that I was inconvenienced. I'm thinking to myself. Why would I want a partial refund? I told her I wanted a full refund, and then, only then did they seem to hurry up and tell me they were almost done cooking my order. The cashier offered to give me my order after receiving my refund, but after the inconvenience, I did not want anything else and declined. The customer service was horrible. read more

We arrived on a Friday afternoon, during happy hour, sat at the bar and conversed with the bartenders and such. Had the habibi, wifey ordered the shrimp - then ordered one for takeout, and the (now adult) kiddos ordered the basics the one with lamb. It's fine. Are the tacos amazingly good? Yeah, they pretty much are. And there are lots of options. But do I NEED a $5.50 taco? No, I really do not. I can't justify going here when the Mexican restaurant is way cheaper and just as good in many ways. And also, if I'm going to pay this much, I'd go across Route 7 to La Prensa, which is far, far superior. I also feel that Taco Bamba is not a very good addition to this particular shopping plaza. This is in the middle of an HOA filled with many families with kids. And yet, this place is very loud inside, and mostly just a large bar area. The taco options that would be more kid appropriate are also pretty limiting. I did takeout here and thankfully found a couple of plainer beef and chicken options for the kiddos, but I don't see really ever bringing them here to dine in. (Also worth noting, the pickup time estimate was 12 minutes off.) Overall, the food is good. The tacos are pretty meaty. But it's like overly fancy just to be high-priced, and I'd take my chances at a more traditional Mexican place any day. read more

I was so excited when I found Taco Bamba! I had the chilaquiles, which was a first for me, and it looked so delicious that I was too excited to take a picture before medicine g right in. As someone who is gluten intolerant and has a soy allergy I was amazed at how clearly the allergy information was labeled and available on the website, as well as the fact that I could eat most things on the menu. The facility is large able to accommodate a good crowd with additional seating outside. The staff is humming cranking out the food very quickly. The food is good, some of the tacos were a little greasy but overall very tasty. The sauces that come with the food are diverse (verde, chipotle, pico salsa and a habanero salsa) . The prices are reasonable and the service was good. The food is fresh and made to order so it exceeded my expectations!!! Truth be told it was so good that I went two days in a row!!! We enjoyed the Habibi G, taco bamba, and pack the bowl!!! All were excellent! After having the specialty tacos the carne asada were good but nothing compared to the specialty tacos. So glad Taco Bamba has come to my neighborhood. It's a 15 minute walk from my house! Tacos are fast, good, and affordable. I don't know where else you can get decent authentic style tacos in the tri state area for $4 a piece. Service is friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean-- I'm glad they kept the vibe of the old Baja Fresh that used to be there. I'll have to try the bar one of these nights.
