If you enjoy amazing tacos that are flavorful you need to check this place out. Between my wife and I we had 5 different tacos. My wife had the Baja fish taco and the shrimp taco. Both were excellent. Light crispy batter and perfect garnish. I had the Birria, (amazing), Octopus, flavorful and well paired with their guacamole and crema, and the crispy pork belly. Also fantastic and actually crispy. They were super friendly and accommodating and the food arrived hot. Everyone was very proud of their food and they have amazing deals throughout the week. Food so good I had to leave a review asap! So I'm new to NOVA. finding authentic Mexican food and tacos has been a challenge (Check my other reviews). It was either this or Raising Canes. And I'm so clad I came. I ordered four tacos and the chicken pozole (green). Asada was good, fish was probably the best, fried chicken was great and grilled chicken was also good! Pozole was decent. I won't order it again, but I enjoyed it for the moment. The atmosphere was comfy. Cool music and all of the staff was attentive and nice. They close at 9. I got there at 8:30 or so. I was able to eat and stay without being rushed. Other guests were still enjoying their food and drinks. So shout out to the workers for staying a little extra so we can enjoy our food. On my way out, I ordered the tres leches desert. Oh my goodness! Sooooo good. So good I thought my mom was back there making it! Definitely coming back to try other stuff. I drive past this place at least 3 times a week. I live in the neighborhood and decided to try it out. A busy Sunday afternoon, a packed restaurant with good vibes, good food bonding over FIFA. What a great way to spend an afternoon. Our waiter was welcoming and made some great recommendations. We chose the queso dip with chorizo, tacos and steak and chicken fajitas. Everything was fresh and so flavorful. The chips were hot and crispy. The queso was cheesy and packed with flavor. I could have continued eating those chips and queso as my meal. The fajitas were hot, the meats were tender and well seasoned. The tacos were perfect! Now that I know this place exists, I will definitely be returning. I've spent time in California but grew up in NoVA, and been waiting almost a decade for a great taco spot. This place is exactly that. The food across the board was great - carne, fish, chorizo, you name it, they have it, and it's excellent. The tile fish special was a highlight, and I don't say that lightly. If the food wasn't enough, the service really delivered. Kudos to Chris because he was attentive, great energy, and wonderful recommendations. We heard raving reviews from family that this place was great. Came back a second time within the next week, it was so good. Staff is very friendly (specifically Christian) and gave some helpful recommendations. Any drinks we got were very good, especially any of their margaritas. All the tacos we've had tasted so good. Tortillas were made in house too. We've had the Asada, Adobado, Ensenada Fish, Baja Shrimp, Birria, Chancho, Pulpo, and Pollo tacos. They all have different toppings so you get different flavor profiles for each. We've also tried the Taquitos de Pato (Duck Taquitos) and we've always had to order a second one because of the sauce. The Pato con Mole was also so flavorful and the duck was cooked so well, it came off the bone easily. Their Chocoflan for dessert was also very solid but you'll probably take it home because you're going to want to order everything off the menu. Very nice laid back Mexican place meets cocktail bar. The best chicken pozole I've ever had! I came in for lunch and nearly had the place to myself. Service was great, and offered suggestions. I was starving and it was a little bit chilly outside, so I ordered three tacos and the cup of chicken pozole. Amazing new addition to Ashburn! After a family friend raved about this place, we loved it so much we visited twice in one week. It's the perfect spot -- a laid-back Mexican eatery meets cool cocktail bar, great for date night, hanging with friends, or watching a game at the bar. Was in the area and craving some tacos so dropped in. We came around lunch time on a weekday and was pretty empty so a good spot for a quick lunch if that's what you're looking for. Inside is a large seating area with a bar in the middle which I'm sure gets pretty busy around happy hour. Service was quick and personable and have no complaints there. As for the food if you try nothing else I would suggest the carne asada fries. Of the items we tried they were by far the best. The tacos were also very good with a good blend of flavors. 20 year California guy here - both northern and southern. Been in VA for about 5 years and just blown away by the quality and authentic tacos here. Very chill place, a few too many TVs for my taste but let's focus on the food and drink. I had a mix of tacos, fish taco (ensenada), carne asada, and the birria. All so fresh and light tasting, you could tell everything is made to order. The fish taco was the best i've had, perfect amount of cabbage and salsa. I'm looking forward to checking other the others. I immediately got into talking about mezcal with the bartenders- they had a great selection and super knowledgeable. Was really hoping to like this place more than we did. Let me start with the service, because that was the highlight of the evening. We ate at the bar and had no trouble getting drink refills and replenishing water. Food was quick to come out. We ordered the guacamole appetizer, several different tacos, and the chicken nachos. The guacamole did not have much flavor and the chips were way too salty. The tacos all had decent flavor, but they were very lukewarm. It's almost like they have been made hours beforehand. Same thing with the chicken nachos, I would have thought that the chicken would've been warmer to have melted the cheese on top, but that did not happen. Great beer selection. Great prices. This place is everything a good taco spot should be, plus more. They have a solid menu and u can order singles of the Tacos which is crucial. I hate when a taco place makes u order 3 of the same tacos at a time. The Birria was amazing and so was the pork belly. For app we had the Tostada de Atun which my picky Pescatarian wife loved. The bar area is nice and big with a bunch of TVs. I'm shocked this place isn't more busy but I'm sure it will be soon enough. The bartender Gervin (Like the Iceman) was on his game all night. Happy to see a street taco place open in the area and the food was TASTY! We got 3 chicken tacos on corn and they were real good. Also got the dip and like the tacos was tasty. The queso wasn't the usual but a smoked queso and it was good. The guac was fresh and had a nice lime zest. The salsa was real good it had its own taste like no others in the area only complaint was the salsa container was only 1/3 full unlike the the othe 2 dips. Also got a side of the street corn and it brought the heat. It was good but if your spice level isn't high beware lol. Will def be back as the restraint was nice and clean. So happy to have this new taco place in our neighborhood. The food is authentic and true Mexican food. The decor is nice although the space tends to be a bit dark in general. Not sure if anything can be done about that. We love the flavors and seasoning of the tacos. The appetizer of guacamole, salsa and chorizo cheese dip is great too! My only suggestion would be to work on getting drinks quicker as we waited a while for water but I understand that might be because it's a new place. Also, my son wasn't crazy about the nuggets even though he usually loves those at restaurants. He felt they were overcooked. Overall a great experience. We will be coming again. read more

What a surprise to find this place!! Excellent food, great atmosphere (including Mexican music), and top-notch service. Their tacos are not cheap, but well worth it. Flavor, especially the birria, and quantity of food made the dinner so right. Also the first round of free chips and salsa was very appetizing. And Junior, our server, was so attentive and cordial. But what stands out particularly with a fair amount of disappointment was the pitcher of Margaritas for the four of us. It was a pitcher of ice. With the markup on alcohol to begin with, do you really need to skimp here. You're a new restaurant and should want to make an impression imo. The servicer seemed oblivious to the fact that he continued to over pour ice from the pitcher into each glass already full of ice and not much margarita. The food is the worst Mexican food (and not cheap) that I have ever had. The shells on the Birria were stale. The rice was tasteless as if it came pre-cooked. They ONLY have black beans. What Mexican restaurant only has black beans? NO refried beans, no pinto beans, no charro beans--just black beans straight from a can. Chips tasted like they were from a bag and very hard. Salsa was meh. Hardly anything tasted fresh. Guac had NO seasoning, besides a squeeze of lemon juice. The booths are so tiny that a normal sized adult could barely sit in them. The other option would be those uncomfortable metal chairs. So...a suffocating booth, hard metal chairs, music so loud you can't hear the waiter taking your order and in our case the waiter took our order for a an appetizer incorrectly, we kept the incorrect order and asked if we could share the cost (which we told the waiter we were "sharing" anyway) they brought us what we thought was a split order until we saw 2 orders of apps on our bill...We said "ok, we'll keep it, to just split it on the bill and remove one, please"---and they said they don't have the ability to split the cost of orders on a receipt. Systems are so antiquated. The manager could have just taken it off the bill altogether- but did not. Told us we would have pay for it, even though the order was taken incorrectly and it would have to be billed to "one" of us. Will NOT be returning... and will tell all of our friends not to come here as well. Don't see this place being in business long at all, with soooo many Mexican restaurants around that are tons better. The one star actually equals ZERO stars. read more
