Great spot with great happy hour deals. My gf and I came here last week with our friend who wanted to grab margaritas. During happy hour, the margaritas are only $6 on the rocks, or $7 frozen. I'm not lying when I tell you they taste amazing. They're not too sweet which I like. The food is also really good. I ordered the wings and they were nice and crispy but still juicy. The sauces were also delicious. They also have super cheap Happy Hour tacos that aren't too bad. The service was friendly and quick. Nothing to really write home about. We sat at a table in the bar area. Note: they have karaoke on Tuesdays in the bar so you're more than welcome to join in. The ambiance is typical Mexican restaurant. This is a great lively Mexican eatery that is in a strip mall in Sterling. After an unsuccessful attempt on Cinco de Mayo, we returned and indulged in a number of classic tex-mex items including fajitas and a solid tasting flight of margaritas. The place is definitely festive and with the good service and solid flavors, it does come with a higher than average price for tex mex-type food. I love that this place has high quality delicious food at reasonable prices! I ordered the taco salad with steak and loved it. The shell bowl was fried very crispy and had sour cream, beans, lettuce, and pico which I omitted. The complimentary chips and salsa were amazing! I love how large the bowl of salsa is while at other Mexican places the bowl is very small. My friends got the birria tacos and burrito which they loved! I also ordered fried plantains which fit my sweet tooth. It is a bit strange with the sour cream but I just didn't dip it in. Our waitress was friendly and attentive too. The interior was well decorated and lit brightly. The only thing is I wish they had corn on their menu which I saw as a picture in Yelp with the cheese. Awful! I came in with a dining group where we meet once a month at local restaurants. This was our first time here, and I will never return; that was the prevailing sentiment among much of the group. Typically, the restaurant is prepared for our group, and that was not the case in this restaurant. I arrived late to dinner, and thus everyone had already ordered. It took more than 10 minutes after arriving even to get a glass of water and order a drink. Eventually, two others arrived, so we could place our drink and food orders together. Additionally, it leaves a bad impression when you serve a bag of stale chips. The chips weren't even better with salsa and salt. Luckily, a fresh bag was opened and brought to our table, but diners don't forget bad service or bad food. Most of the dishes the others ordered looked good. I was not very hungry, so I ordered a taco salad with ground beef. What could go wrong? The food was prepared quickly and out within about 10 minutes, but OMG, the ground beef tasted awful. There was no seasoning. It tasted like it was cooked in water without any spice or seasoning. The blandness of the ground beef, mixed with very few greens, made for a very poor meal. I ate it for dinner, but it wasn't good. The mango mojito was good, but it had very little alcohol in it, and I would know, as I don't drink much alcohol and didn't feel any effect from it. It almost seemed like I got a virgin version of the Mango Mojito. We discovered after the fact that it was the server's second day on the job. Management, do better, don't put a new server with a large group party that you weren't set up for, even though you knew there would be a big party at 6 pm on that Monday. The manager of this location was also rude and not particularly helpful to our group and our needs. read more

Came in on a Tuesday night for dinner. I ordered carnitas and stuck to water. I asked for a jalapeno as well. The carnitas wasn't too bad. It wasn't as flavorful as I thought it would be. Portion was also smaller than expected for dinner. The complementary chips and salsa were pretty good. Service was okay. The jalapeno I asked for didn't come sliced; it was just a whole jalapeno. I would've liked it to have been sliced prior to being given to me because my knife was a dinner knife and was not easy to use to cut up a raw jalapeno. I didn't wait too long for my server to take my order. It also didn't take very long for me to get my order from the kitchen. I did, however, wait some time to get my waiter's attention so that I can ask for my check. I sat at the bar where the dining area next to it was filled with diners who were participating in a karaoke night. It seemed like everyone was having a lot of fun. It was a pretty good vibe. I think this is a routine occurrence, which seems like fun. I may come back and try a different dish to see if it was just a miss when I went last time. read more

Just an average place overall. The service was good, but that's about it. I decided to try this restaurant based on the reviews, but I was very disappointed. The house-made guacamole was extremely bland and needed more salt. I ordered the Molcajete, which turned out to be another flavorless dish. The chorizo was the only saving grace in it. Let me say the food was very good. Service was on point. Nothing could complain about.. ens the ambience was very traditional and I like that no complaints at all. The only problem with this place is you cannot see it from the highway or the street that is on. They got trees up if they was a cut those trees down as you're driving you can see it that would bring more business. the GPS was telling me I was there, and I did not see it because of the trees.. the other problem is they have a old man who is a drunk who likes to hang around, and this guy was talking to me as if he was a worker. I had no earthly idea. He was just some strangler hanging around you get rid of that guy you get a lot more business.. unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but next time I will definitely take pictures and do another review read more

Service was great, the menu is the full spread of what you want for Mexican flavor but plenty of American flair with chimichangas and flavored margaritas. And can I say margarita...FLIGHTS? Why is this not available everywhere? Pick four flavors and have a personal tasting with just the right amount of spirit and flavor. It's been a year since I've been back to one of my favorite local Mexican Restaurants. I've been there at least 20 times since they opened this location. Went last night and had sticker shock. You know something is off when the drink menu doesn't show any prices. I ordered 3 street tacos and a fountain soda drink. The final bill including tax and 20% tip was $27.45. I'll be thinking long and hard about returning. read more

After reading all the good reviews, we finally got around to trying this restaurant. When we arrived, we were greeted and seated and chose to eat indoors. Service was prompt and efficient. A bowl of salsa and some chips were given to us. The salsa had some kick but not overly so, which was fine with us. They have quite the selection of tequilas, thus they live up to their name. We know just about nothing when it comes to the different types. Thus, I got a mango frozen margarita. No doubt, it had the cheap house tequila, but, as I said, I don't know one tequila from another. Anyway, it was a tasty drink and not very strong---I was fine with that. My husband had a Coors lite. They have an item on their list of appetizers, which caught our eye, and that was plantains. We ordered them and really enjoyed the way they were prepared. They were fried so that there was some texture on the outside---not crispy but nicely browned. The inside was soft and sweet. This app comes with some sour cream and pureed beans, none of which we used. We liked them plain. For dinner, I ordered the mole ranchero. I saw it had cheese and I told our server that I would like to have it without it. This dish had shredded chicken breast topped with mole sauce. Also, it came with rice, some shredded lettuce, chopped tomatoes and red onions. On the side were some flour tortillas. The mole sauce was spicy, again not overly so but enough that it overtook the delicate chocolate flavoring. The sauce had good consistency and I believe it would have been much better without the spice. My husband had the enchilada trio which had one of each---cheese, beef and chicken. It came with refried beans and rice. He really enjoyed it and just about licked his plate clean. We were plenty full after dinner so we didn't order dessert. Next time we go, I have my eyes on a mahi mahi entree that sounds really good. Our server was very friendly and since business was on the slow side, he engaged us in conversation. If I have to ding them for something --- the entrees came out while we were still eating the plantains. A runner brought out the dinners and our server apologized for the poor timing. No problem---the dinners were still hot when we dug in. All in all, one of the better Mexican restaurants in the area. read more

It's daunting to go out for dinner these days without feeling like my wallet and taste buds have been criminally assaulted. Our local fave place for blue margueritas just got too expensive so we were looking for a new place. My daughter thought we might like Casa Tequila in Sterling. It's a bit further to drive, but it's so worth it. Wifey and I were out that way doing some discount shopping and decided to give CT a try. The place is big - nicely spread out so it looks like it could handle crowds. I had the Street Tacos. She had the carnitas tacos, both with flour tortillas. We both had the blue 'rita of course. Our drink order was taken as soon as we sat down. The drinks arrived like 5 mins later. This is a fast bartender. The 'ritas were large, kinda like carnival fishbowls. Not too sweet, not too sour with a very pleasant taste. Yummmm. The food came out not five minutes later, super hot and juicy fresh. Fast kitchen, too. The refried beans are very tasty, better with some of the complimentary salsa that came with the complimentary chips. Don't let anyone at the table pass on the beans. You're gonna' want those. Both of our tacos were very good. The cilantro and whatever seasonings they use are spot on. So the food and drink passed the critical food quality tests. The bill was a pleasant surprise: $61 for dinner and drinks for two. The 'ritas were, I'm not kidding, $11.99. They would have been twice that at our prior place. Been awhile i've been to Mexican and happy I checked Yelp as this place was showing with high marks so I thought I'd give it a try plus it was a 15-20 min drive from me so. We were greeted immediately after walking in around 4:30ish pm, and seated in a booth on the one corner of the place near the bar area. We could see a few diners on the other end and a couple of tables taken in the outdoor area so we were okay to be seated where we were- it was well social distanced. We probably checked in as their lunch hour was wrapping up or it was în the early part of dinner. First impression as I glanced around the room, place look nice and neat, and booths and table looked fairly new and clean. The waiter came with chips and salsa right after we got seated and the chips and salsa were flavorful though the chips could be fresher. Again, it was probably left from lunch hour. For my drink, I ordered their special of the day the waiter suggested I try the blue agave tequila with lime served either on the rocks or blended. I chose the latter for $5.99. For food, I ordered the Veracruz Asada $22.99 which came with charr- grilled ribeye with shrimp & scallops, a side of rice and beans plus soft tortilla. My medium cooked steak was tender and flavorful as was the shrimp and scallops. I was happy with my meal though I wish there was a guacamole but was not included. Hubby ordered a 22 oz Pacifico for his drink- his first beer in a long time so find it funny because I told him to break from wine for this meal! He also ordered Chimichanga $14.99, which came with 2, he chose a beef and a chicken and was also served with rice and beans plus guacamole, tomato/onion/lettuce salsa. I tasted the chicken chimi and there was plentiful of chicken and it was good though the breading (wrap) could have been fried longer, which would probably make it taste even better. It was just lightly fried I thought. Overall, it was a pleasant solid meal (55 + 20% - not bad) and because our waiter was nice and service was great! Giving them 5 stars because I didn't have nor couldn't find any major issue or fault and I was generally happy with my food and pleasant service! Simply put, it was nice to have a solid Mexican restaurant in the area so i'd visit again if in the area or craving simple solid Mexican food! read more
