This taco place was inside a food hall with many other food stalls. I got the Super Ramon, Birria, and Campechano ($6 ea). They were made in about 7 minutes and were all very good tacos with the super Ramon being my favorite. I loved the cheese flour tortilla and the carne asada/chorizo combo. It was very savory and all meshed quite well together. The other tacos were also quite good. For $6 ea they were on the more expensive side but did fill me up. Overall a solid spot to get tacos that I would gladly come back to. Food(50%): 8.3 Staff/service(25%): 6.5 Value(25%): 6.0 Overall: 7.3/10

Side of chips and salsa - enough to share

Updating my review of a couple years ago (have a read of that review because, for the most part, everything still applies). I've continued to frequent this place since then. I would consider Señor Ramon a definite VALUE PLAY - DECENT VALUE HERE FOR WHAT YOU PAY which, at a time when restaurants are jacking up prices, skimping on portion sizes and generally ripping off the customer, says a lot about this place in these economic times. JUST AN ALL AROUND SATISFYING PLACE to come, relax and have some good eats - breakfast lunch or dinner, have your run of cold tapped brews (TONS of draft options!), kid- and large group-friendly. Don't expect fast-food-fast because it's all made-to-order fresh but food does come out without an inordinate wait. There's truly something for everyone (read why, below) in this clean, industrial-vibey environment. Oh - and weather permitting, they kept their HUGE casual outdoor seating area with community picnic tables from back in the covid days - see my pics. That pretty much sums up this place in a nutshell. :) Señor Ramon is one of many of the Crooked Run Brewery "eatery" offerings under one roof at this location (genius idea!) which includes the Crooked Run brewery bar itself, J&J wings and pizza (newest addition), Daybreak Biscuit Co for weekend bfast/brunch offerings and the Nectar bar for cocktails including weekend brunch mimosas and bloody marys etc. So - coming as a group, everyone can fan out and get what they want or you can order a smorgasbord of a little of everything and share, family style. Parking is SO EASY - one of the things I like about this eatery is that it's nestled in and among office buildings and commercial business parks on a "back street" of Sterling on Davis Drive off the beaten path. So lot parking is easy and plentiful pretty much any time of day. No parking hassle among all the strip malls and stores (and horrible traffic) that line Rt 7. No getting tangled in traffic mess near Dulles Town Center or One Loudoun. Just a peaceful, unassuming, quiet back street in Sterling. The food here is classic street tacos done right. Authentic. Order tacos a la carte, individually. I love that because it's easy to mix and match or order just 1 or 2 or 5 or 10 - totally up to you. No combo meals, meal deals or platters - just straight up a la carte tacos. See my menu pics. Each taco has a DOUBLE soft tortilla shell, the way real, authentic street tacos should be. Though they've definitely skimped on how stuffed the tacos are from a couple years back (par for the course everywhere though, amiright?), the tacos are still satisfyingly filling with fresh ingredients, packed with flavor and served hot so you know it's fresh. This place is totally casual - order and pay at the counter and pick up your order when your pager buzzes. Fountain drinks are self-serve. Bus your own table when you're done. No muss, no fuss. Have I mentioned this place is OFF THE BEATEN PATH (love LOVE) but SO EASY TO GET TO. A true hidden gem. P.S. TIP: PAY CASH TO SAVE $$. Just discovered on my receipt! 3.5% "service charge" - see pic of my receipt - had no clue - I THINK IT'S FOR USING A CREDIT CARD. I know it's a small amount but these days every penny counts. NOT COOL THAT THIS IS A "HIDDEN" FEE AND NOT EXPLICITLY STATED.

Good tacos, great service and appreciate the outdoor seating they share with the brewery. Definitely make sure to get the barbacoa or crispy shrimp! Photos attached of the yumminess.

5 stars not just for the taste but the variety. It's difficult to separate my rating of the Señor Ramon from Crooked Run brewery, with which it shares a space. They are two different businesses but share the same tap room. While I visited both, this is just for the tacos. I got a trio of different tacos; the Lola (carnitas, caramelized onions, roasted corn salsa, pico de gallo, chipotle aioli, sour cream & cilantro), Gabo (Flour Tortilla, Skirt steak, caramelized onions, grilled guacamole, Ancho tomato sauce, Jalapenos & cotija), and a third which I can't remember. All three were really good - but I think my favorite was the Gabo. The Jalapeno flavor was present but they didn't do a Jalapeno overload). There is indoor and outdoor seating.

Delicious flavorful tacos, right next to an amazing brewery! This place has something for everyone. If you like it hot they have it, if you like it zesty and packed with juicy flavors, they have that too. A fantastic variety that is sure to please people that love all varieties of Street tacos. The tacos are double wrapped because they do not skimp on ingredients. They are packed FULL! Great prices and the service was friendly and accommodating.

    Two tacos and empanada.

Good food, usually. Have eaten here several times. I remember them as amazing, but latest visit was only so so. $15 for two specialty tacos and an empanada. Then a buck or two for tip. Ends up being a little pricy for a lunch, but the tacos are well filled. Maybe just order two unless you're really hungry. I had a carnita taco (loco something or other) which was middling, and as TS478 shrimp taco which was awesome. Empanada had a weird "off" taste to it, which was sad since its been awesome on previous visits. Menu has no prices on it (as of April 2022) which is kind of annoying. Guy at the register was a little jerky, but won't hold that against them.

    The SuperRamon.

Senor Ramon is the perfect compliment for Crooked Run. Tacos and beer are a compatible pairing like Method Man & Redman & Wings and football. Brilliant! Tacos are filled with flavor (lengua, fish, and carne asada) although a bit pricy. They also have empanadas, tortas, nachos, & corn nuggets. Special items such as the SuperRamon (stuffed quesadilla with guacamole, onions, salsa, steak & chorizo) are served and pack a punch like the man of steel himself. Only downside is it closes earlier than the brewery (usually around 9) so no late night eats which would be legendary. Maybe they can work on that. But I'll take it for now! Whatchu (taco)ing bout!?

Went to order 3 birria tacos. waited. my buzzer buzzed so I went up to the shelf to get my tacos. I literally touched all up in the taco with my finger to see if it had sour cream on it (birria tacos come with sour cream). They didn't, so I asked them to put it on there. They then told me that those weren't my tacos despite them being the only ones up there when my buzzer buzzed. When another man came to claim the same tacos I tried to explain to the workers that I had put my fingers in them lol.... and suggested that they make the man new tacos. The girl at the front desk rolled her eyes at me. They didn't care, still served it to him. Gross.

Great tacos here (especially the traditional ones). I got the lengua, carne asada, and Al pastor and all of them were flavorful!

I really wanted to like Uncle Julio's. I went in optimistic, hungry, and fully prepared to declare…read moreit my new go-to. And then... well... queso happened. And not much else. Let's start with the high point: the thin tortilla chips and queso were excellent. Light, crispy, and dangerously easy to keep eating long after you should've stopped. Honestly, if the meal had ended there, we might be talking 5 stars and a very different review. But then came my main--a chimichanga-style appetizer that showed up absolutely smothered in a mysterious brown sauce. Not drizzled. Not thoughtfully applied. Drowned. The kind of sauce that makes you wonder if it lost a bet. I gave it a fair shot, but it just wasn't for me. In the spirit of teamwork, I sampled around the table. A colleague's shrimp taco? Better, but not exactly memorable. A bite of steak quesadilla? Let's just say it didn't inspire any follow-up bites. To their credit, the service was good--attentive, friendly, and on top of things. My Diet Coke arrived exactly as advertised, which in some places is apparently a high bar, so points there. Prices were also reasonable, which softened the blow a bit. Still, in an area packed with solid Mexican options, this felt like a "close, but no cigar" situation. I came in hoping for a new favorite and left thinking the queso might be the only thing worth a return trip--and even that feels like a stretch. Three stars: one for the chips, one for the queso, and one for the effort.

Wow, this place SMELLS amazing outside, so we are walking around One Loudoun and say, heck, let's…read moregive them another try, it's not busy at all 2pm). There were an abundance of tables and booths inside and outside, but we were told they were all "RESERVED" and we would have to sit in the bar area. All high top tables, except one, which we had to use (medical issue). It was by one of two doors outside to the patio on the bar side of the restaurant, which should have been my warning to just leave now and save the hunger for another establishment. The bartender was working EVERY TABLE in the area, inside and outside. I was concerned, but we gave him a chance. Chips were good, salsa was kinda green and tasteless, but we only ever got one basket of chips in the 80 minutes it took us to order, get our food, and ask to pay. There was soccer on in the bar to distract, thank goodness, because it was filled with people and at least four kids literally having foot races in the bar area because they were bored waiting for their food. No kiddie activity crayons or whatever. My husband is halfway through his soda, and we see a long, dark hair inside the glass... INSIDE THE GLASS. When the waiter finally got back to us, we asked for another drink glass. He brought us two fresh drinks, but now mine had a jagged glass chip missing from the rim (where you place your lips), so I was no longer interested in my drink. Food was mostly OK, the fajita chicken is very good, the tortillas soft and fluffy. The beef in the enchiladas or taco my husband got is currently making him feel a bit ill (oily maybe?) but his chicken one was good. The poor waiter had too many tables for one person. The other person in the bar area was in full out prep mode for a night of drinks and bar activities. Lemons, limes, ice, very busy, didn't help the waiter at all. The tables that were vacated stayed dirty for almost 30 minutes outside, no bus boy help, but several staff people in the host area talking and I suppose waiting for the avalanche of guests for those empty tables. By the way, if you sit near the door outside, every single time the waiter opens the door, a gush of humid, hot air blows you hard and strong. It's very annoying, and you want to AVOID the tables by the patio door or you will get to enjoy all the seasons, all at once. We finally were able to get the waiters attention to pay, tipped him (this situation wasn't his fault), and left. Guess what? Empty tables, staff standing around, I was annoyed. Don't go without a reservation, or better yet, don't go to Uncle Julios... The choice is yours.
