Check your receipts if you eat here! I ordered a Suprimo Burrito that the menu on the wall said was $12.99. I ordered a couple of tacos for my wife as well. When the little Gen Z girl be hind the counter told me the total, I thought it was high and asked her to go over the order. She told me that the Suprimo Burrito was $14.99. I said, no according to the menu on the wall the price is $12.99. She told me in no uncertain terms that that didn't matter because it rang up on here computer at $14.99. I told her that you can't advertise one price and then charge another. I asked her to fix the price. She then told me, in a very snitty tone, that she couldn't do that. That it was not her job and that her job was just to take orders. I said she had to fix the amount and she reiterated, in a very loud voice, that that was not her job. At that point I told her to cancel the order and went to get my wife. I told this extraordinarily rude little girl that we would NEVER return to the restaurant. Her nasty response was "That's fine!!" I seriously doubt that the owners of the restaurant would consider running angry customers out the door would be "fine". The food is good and I'm disappointed that I cannot go back there. Listen... I do not order chimichangas at authentic Mexican restaurants. But I saw they started serving them and I had to. Legit the BEST one I've ever had. This thing was gigantic! I ordered the steak and it came with queso on one half and a red sauce on the other. The red sauce wasn't spicy, which I loved. The flavor was excellent and it wasn't greasy at all. My husband ordered a bunch of different taco and loved them. I always love coming here and always forget how great it is every time we come! Stopped by this place with my boss and unfortunately neither of us was impressed. I ordered one pork, steak, and chorizo taco and the boss ordered two chicken. The best part of our meal was the queso. Every taco either had no flavor or tasted like meat out of a can. I thought this place would be similar to Moe's or Chipotle (where you build your own burrito, Taco etc) But it wasn't. The queso was runny and their burrito bowls were soggy. I don't like it when the rice is so mushy you can't tell what you're eating and it was mixed in with the beans to create this sad, sloppy mess. Their burrito bowls were definitely lacking flavor. WE LOVE, LOVE, LOVE TACO BAR!!! I really don't know what else to say. This review is LONG overdue, but since finding this place just recently we have been "blowing it up!" I had actually heard about it from a coworker a year or so ago, but I was not familiar with the area. This is a guy (and family) that is somewhat picky about their food and restaurants and he has been telling me how they eat there multiple times a week. My wife is also pretty picky and does not quite love food like I do and I am SICK of her suggesting Taco Bar constantly for dinner or lunch. I still go, but it's funny how many times she mentions it. I have had most of the things on the menu, if not all of them. Their burrito is huge and is easily split between to people, but me being somewhat of #fatfk still mange to order a few different tacos to over-stuff myself. Even the margarita that comes out of the juice fountain tank thingy was good and kinda stiff and was not light on the tequila. In closing, we LOVE Taco Bar. The staff has always been very friendly, the restaurant and restrooms are clean, and the food is delicious. If it was not for the GOD awful North Pinellas County traffic we would be there a lot more often than we are, but living in the most densely populated armpit in the state is not without its consequences. read more

This is the most authentic Mexican food we've had around the area, and hope they'll stay open for a long time. They are more expensive than some taco restaurants, but I thought it was worth it. I've been anxiously awaiting for this place to open. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. They weren't very busy, about four other people eating and a couple to go orders came in after me. The place is very bare, I want to say they are going for a simple modern theme but upon walking in there was no welcoming feeling or "vibe" going on. The bar was extremely bare aside from the three drink machines and I would never have known they serve beer. There are no bar stools at the bar and a bunch of tables and one long bench along the wall. It's much smaller then I expected it to be and I feel like the bar takes up way too much space esp when they aren't even utilizing it as a bar. Maybe they were expecting it to be more of a takeout place. The menu is very simple. I ordered two tacos (one chicken & one pork) and ordered chips & salsa although I couldn't believe it was $3.25. The tacos were ok, had I known they were on corn tortillas I would not have ordered them but it didn't note that anywhere on the menu on the wall and the girl taking my order didn't seem like she knew much. The meat and toppings (cilantro & onions) were good. The bag of chips and salsa were good although I don't think it would be enough for two people to share (knowing how much I can normally eat at other Mexican restaurants) and I forgot to snap a pic. They had a choice of four hot sauces but the tiny area you serve yourself from seemed like an afterthought. Overall, everyone was nice and the food wasn't bad by any means. Definitely seemed fresh. I will go back to give them another go and try something different. Dive joints are normally great for Mexican. This, is more modern with simple decorations and great food! There are limited seats on the inside, so make up your mind soon or you could be ordering to go. I love the atmosphere. Two tone walls with simple pictures to make it known that the food is Mexican inspired. I had the burrito campechano, which is steak and chorizo. It was beyond great, I give it a 11/10. First thing I notice on the wall is 6 choices of fillings. I tried the Champechano (steak & chorizo)in a stuffed Burrito, and the Pastor (marinated pork) in a corn tortilla. Both were excellent! The basic Mexican offerings also include Tacos, Sopes, big Quesdillas, Tostadas, & Tomales. I saw 3 "Dishes," Chille Rellenos, Order de Carnitas, and Carne de res en Salsa Guajillo. (the latter is no longer on the menu.) I'm definitely going to order these dishes next time ...in the name of good Yelping of course! ;-P Salsas include a Cilantro Lime, Red Salsa, Tomatillo, and a spicy Avacado Jalapeño! Deliciosa! Passed by this place many times because it looked like a nondescript little taco carry out. Glad I checked out the ratings. A little small but comfy. Food was truly great. Mexican Street corn was fantastic. My wife got the Ranchero burrito. She loved it and wisely cut it in half to take home. I had the pollo enchiladas and they were great also, especially with the fresh avocado. Chips were hot, thin and delicious. Guacamole was fresh and great. I had three crunchy tacos with a different filling for each: al pastor, carnitas, & shredded beef. My companion was satisfied with a burrito too large to eat in one sitting. She felt it was a little on the bland side and there should have been more meat to rice. I loved my tacos: crisp and greaseless, topped with crema fresca. I added the spicy sauces from the sauce bar. We've gone in twice now, and found this to be our new go-to taco place since relocating to Florida and searching for solid, authentic Mexican food. It's a very casual establishment, go to the counter and place your order from the menu on the wall, pay, and they bring your food to you. The staff hasn't been overly friendly or rude, nothing noteworthy. The food however has been solid both times we've come in. It's affordable, hot, and very flavorful with every sauce bringing a unique, yet bold flavor. I have been reluctant to stop in here but my husband really wanted to check the place out. Why was I reluctant? The name is so.... non Mexican sounding. We arrived on a Wednesday and to my surprise that is their discounted taco night. I got 4 of the $2 tacos and a Mexican Beer. The tacos are very good. The pork being my favorite. They have a sauce bar but the sauces are more gourmet then the typical place. My husband had the sopes and luckily he shared a bite with me. Yummy. That is what I am getting next time.
