I genuinely don't know what everyone else is on. I saw this place had 1.4 starts and downloaded this app, made an account, and am now writing this review bc it's ridiculous. This place has yet to let me down. The food is always hot, fresh, and tasty and every employee has been kind happy to help. The Barnett Shoals Taco Bell has never been a 5-Star experience, but they sank to a record low this past time I went and completed their descent from Taco Bell to Taco Hell. My Girlfriend and I ordered chalupa boxes at 1:00pm, and by 1:25pm we knew something was seriously wrong. Our Chalupas were nowhere to be seen, and neither was the staff. It seemed they were prioritizing drive-through orders at the expense of the 10 or so patrons waiting in the store. I'm not the "speak to the manager" type, but felt I had no choice but inquire into the fate of my chalupa boxes. However, as I shuffled up a middle aged mother beat me to the punch. She began screaming at the staff that "It's taken 25 minutes for two tacos and my children are literally starving in the car." So passionate was her rhetoric that you'd think her mini-van had arrived at the Barnett Shoals Taco Bell straight from Donner Pass. Thankfully her enthusiasm yielded fruit, and within 30 seconds our chalupa boxes and the starving children's tacos materialized. It's always uncomfortable when service is so bad that one must scream at the staff to receive the product, but this was one of those cases. This Taco Hell has had issues with staff for awhile, so I urge the owner to please please up the pay and hire on competent employees. read more

I dunno what it is with the Taco Bell's in the Athens area, they seem to all be subpar, but this one so far is the worst. They closed the inside despite that showing as open on the app, so I had to wait in the drive through line...which ended up taking almost 10 minutes /after/ I got to the order speaker for them to let me tell them I had already ordered online. I think it's the rudeness when I talked to them that bothered me the most. I'm pretty patient and I understand how tough it is to be overwhelmed at a retail job. But, snapping at customers is really uncalled for, especially when all they said was "hello." The fact they charge above the retail prices - $2.49 for the $2 burritos, $4 for the $3 burritos - surely isn't helping my opinion. Too bad the owners aren't putting their extra money into hiring more employees, or even some that would be nice. At least they mostly got my order right, which is better than I can say about some other Athens area Taco Bell's. I hope they didn't spit in my food, they seemed upset enough to. It seems that Taco Bell in general has been going down hill lately in terms of their service offerings, and quality. I can say that this particular restaurant is hands down the worst Taco Bell I have ever been to. Plan on waiting a long time in the drive through line (30+ minutes is not uncommon), and at least double check your food items before leaving, because they probably left something out. Also don't use the app. Recently my wife ordered $20 worth of food including several Mexican pizzas when they "permanently" brought back the mexican pizza to the menu for like 2 days. The order went through and we were charged, but were told that the night crew did not set out the pizza shells, so they would not be able to make our order. Did not get our food, got charged, and after several weeks and many conversations with the store management and corporate, still have not gotten our money back. Totally unacceptable!!! read more

Very disappointed. We decided to go because the store was newly renovated and we wanted to finally try some TB after years of not having it. When we walked in, one of the kiosks for an electronic order was already cracked and broken and one of the workers was dropping F bombs in the back. There was zero cohesiveness amongst the staff and nobody truly seemed to know what they were doing. This makes sense as to why our order took nearly 30-40 minutes to serve to us. Their time management was deplorable, and they got our tacos completed before the nacho fries, so once the fries were FINALLY ready, we were served with ridiculously soggy tacos. There was no enthusiasm and customer service either. When we walked in, there was a staff member sitting outside of the entrance door smoking, and as we left, she was still there. You would think that with 12 employees (I counted) that service would be quicker. However, a lot of them were standing around confused or sitting in booths on their phones. We will NEVER come back. If presented with the opportunity to win $1million dollars upon predicting which fast food restaurant would completely butcher my drive-thru order- I'd choose this Taco Bell. In the several years I've lived here, they have yet to get a simple drive-thru order correct. Rarely do I receive everything I order....and if the odds do happen to be in my favor for that night, I'll get what I ordered (and I just order straight off the menu, nothing special. #7 with a Baja blast) but they'll make it completely wrong and forget to put chicken in the quesadilla! Half the time they're out of basically every ingredient and you just have to leave without ordering. The employees are so uninterested in their work and have horrible attitudes. I don't visit here often, not after learning how inconsistent they were in the first two visits when I moved to the Eastside, but after yet another awful experience, I'm done and this review will hopefully put a dent in the ruin of this establishment. I eventually pulled forward as there was a pickup truck behind me so I couldn't back out.
