The burritos at Barberitos are huge and delicious, so no complaints there! However, I'm confused about the mobile ordering process. When you order chips, the app asks for your sauce choice, but you have to grab the sauce yourself when you pick up the order. If that's the case, why ask for the choice in the app at all? It seems unnecessary. Also, according to their Facebook page, orders placed through the app from Jan 2-5 with a minimum of $20 are supposed to automatically receive 25% off. Unfortunately, that discount wasn't applied to my order. I hope they can address these issues, as it's otherwise a great spot for food! read more

I have been there twice in the past 10 days and the food is always good, but the kids working behind the counter are less than friendly. Borderline rude. The girl at the cash register even set my bag down so hard, my chips on the bottom were crushed. I know that they could have been having a bad day, but customer service is important. Overall, a solid place to get food. They're kind of texi-cali-mex, with big burritos, like Chipotle or Willy's except they're *better* - and they're better priced too! I really appreciated that they were willing to do curbside pickup, even though they were unfamiliar with Doordash pickups. The food quality was really solid, too. Lots of fresh ingredients and tasty spices. The chips were quite tasty, although I slightly prefer thicker corn chips. Their nachos, despite being reasonably priced, are very substantial...lots of meat and veggies. Their queso is also wonderful...it's really just melted cheese. It thickens up quick, so you might have to reheat it, but that means they didn't use any filler like milk that would thin it out! Quality all the way through...thanks! My only caution would be to watch out for spice...sometimes things are spicy you don't expect! My Dad got a steak burrito for example...nothing spicy in it...but the steak was pretty hot! I liked it, and so did he, but watch out if you're not a spice fan...make sure to ask which things are mild. Barberitos may not be fancy, but if you're just in the mood for a great, affordable meal, it's a wonderful option. And, it started locally! Athens proud. This place is honestly pretty meh, I was so surprised to see so many people. I got a burrito bowl, the ingredients were fine, but by the time I got through the line, my food was cold. We also got a burrito. The tortillas they have some undercooked, with the intention of warming it up and cooking it the last bit before serving. The best they did was put the tortilla in a steamer, which was obviously not made for tortillas. Needless to say, the tortilla was still undercooked and chewy. The chips given to us looked to be in a chip warmer, but again, we're cold by the time we got them. Both of the salsas were also on the bland side. I'm glad that I went, so I can never go back. I have eaten at this Barburritos many times. The food is good. However, the wait in line is often delayed because of call-in orders. My major problem with this restaurant is dirty tables. I have never seen an employee come out and clean off the tables. They don't wipe them and they don't pick up the debris. furthermore, when you go to exit the trash barrel where you are to put, your debris is always filled and by always, I mean always. It looks like an employee does not come out there and empty that debris barrel very often if at all. read more

I have been going to the barberitos on epps for probably around two years. They've always had amazing customer service and great food! But today was terrible!!! The shorter guy that works was at the shell station and he was nice, but his coworker couldn't fit all the ingredients that the customer got in his burrito before us. She was obviously frustrated because of that but then it ruined her entire performance afterwards. She very shortly and rudely asked my boyfriend and I what we wanted in our quesadilla and all i wanted was jalapeños and and sour cream. When she asked what i wanted i said jalapeños and she grabbed a whole fist full and put it directly in the middle of my quesadilla so that when i took a bite all i could taste was jalapeno. Dined here a few weeks ago and had a horrible experience. In fact I started this review earlier and decided to wait until I could more tactfully form my review. I've been to several other Barberitos. Two of those locations on multiple occasions. It was the first (and now last) time I've had a chance to visit this location, which I believe is in the same town as the headquarters? Frankly, it sucked. The store itself was not clean. We were in the process of ordering and I noticed how gross the floors were and how messy everything else was. And then I noticed the health inspection score on the wall. We almost left then and--in hindsight--should have. We took our food to go. The spicy chicken was extremely (extremely) salty. The chips were also extremely salty -- and I like a lot of salt. If I'm saying it was too salty, it was over the top salty. Our meal was horrible. With as many people working there, you'd think they would put someone at the front of the line taking orders that can move fast. Instead, everyone else working down the line was waiting on him and so were all the customers in the line. Stomach issues ensued after our meal for one of us. Never again with I eat at this location. I will think twice and look at the health inspection scores before trying any other locations. read more

I've been coming to this location since it opened and today was the third time in a row that my experience made me wonder why I come here. The health score is deteriorating and the place is filthy. (Dust behind the counter, in the door ways, in the waiting line area, etc... the new staff has no since of urgency and the line is short but still take 20-30 minutes to get through. Damn so sad. My first visit was to a Barberitos in High Point, NC. Place blew my mind in terms of protein / ingredient options, quality of the ingredients, Salsa bar, and overall experience. Was baffled as to how there was not more of these beating chipotle out in every shopping center. But man, this location is trash. I usually don't judge sanitation scores but this place has an 85, and looks like a 70 on a good day of regular operations. Everything they serve in is in a to go container as if they are skimping to save money on every corner, no variety of salsas at the salsa bar, no fresh avocado or fresh mango salsa like at high point, dry proteins, the list continues. We didn't even finish our meal. My first Barberitos experience was out of this world good and made me think this needs to be everywhere, but the Athens location makes me think there is a consistency issue with franchise owners. They need to take notes from high point location, which is sad...because apparently Barberitos stared in Athens. read more

I frequent this location because the food is delicious and the prices are fair. I usually get a salad, no shell. The choices to build your meal with are perfect with something for everyone. If you get bored with the salad or are concerned it's too healthy try getting queso on it. Lately I am mainlining the hard shell tacos, just protein, cheese, sour cream, and cilantro. I highly recommend. Not much to note on the staff, they work there, make the food, and take the money. For me, that's a perfect interaction. read more

We were on a marathon road trip from Daytona back home to the mountains and stopped in for an early dinner. We had been eating at Chik Fil A all along the trip and were ready for something different. I got the bean burrito and it was excellent. Served with thin and crispy tortilla chips, it was a welcome and fast meal. This is one of the worst places of its kind that I have eaten at. I went here looking for something a little healthier, but fast on my way home and I regretted it immediately. I got the Healthy Salad, in which the lettuce was wilted, it was watery (before adding any dressing), and the guac looked and tasted like it had been sitting out for days!! The SW Vinaigrette is one of the most disgusting things I've ever tasted. Overall, it's really disappointing because it's a local spot and I prefer to stick with local places, but I would have been better off at Moe's (which I detest). I would highly recommend checking out Willy's (a local Atlanta chain)- its similar priced food but WAY fresher. From now on I'll go out of my way to go there instead. read more

Love this establishment. Great flavor, if you get a burrito, but sure to get steak and black beans. The chicken is great too on anything. They season it right, I had to eat at Moe's the other day and was reminded why I love Barberito's so much. Moe's chicken and steak are completely bland and unseasoned, and the chips at Moe's are grocery store variety. Barberito's is miles better.
