Absolute worst, slowest drive thru ever. I'm sitting in it right now. Been here twenty minutes for some cinnamon twists.

We are always willing to eat at a Mexican restaurant and this is another restaurant we will eat at. She got a taco meal and got something off the breakfast menu that consisted of eggs mixed with tomatoes and jalapeños, refried beans and rice. The queso and chips were really good and so was the dessert. The server was nice and told us that the churro cheesecakes were a thought to put on the menu and I hope it does because it was DELICIOUS!

Unfortunately they were out of tamales per the owner. She told us that they had several people ask for the earlier in the day. She suggested calling around 11am or showing up at that time to ensure we got some. We didn't get there until 7pm, so that's on us. We still ate in the restaurant because my family has had the chorizo street tacos from when they were located in the food truck and raved about them. My wife got the chorizo street tacos and I got nacho supremos, combination, fully loaded. I was absolutely stuffed after eating those and the complimentary chips and salsa and she loved her street tacos! The service was excellent! The food came out quick, was cooked just right, and tasted wonderful. I did have a couple margaritas and they were really good. We'll definitely be back here!!

Events concluded somewhat early on Saturday and I wanted to make the most of my drive out that way, so I decided to drive a little farther to give Gordo's Way a try. TL;DR -- I'm gonna be making more special trips to Albertville. This restaurant is located on Main Street in Albertville. It's on the corner/end of the street. Street parking is limited but there's a large lot across the street that I took advantage of. They appear to only be open Friday - Sunday so plan accordingly! A few picnic tables are arranged in front of the entrance. The restaurant is small with room for maybe ~25 seats on the inside. You order at the counter. The menu is diverse with a lot of authentic Mexican and Central American dishes. Big focus on birria -- not just tacos, but pizza and ramen too. Service was exceptional! The young woman who greeted me at the counter was so friendly and nice. She immediately caught on it was my first visit and she graciously offered to explain the menu to me. She was exceedingly thorough - more than I truly needed but I didn't mind because she was so sweet - and she knew her stuff! If you're new to this cuisine at all, Gordo's Way would be a great place to explore because the staff will take care of you. They have several containers of aguas frescas, to include cucumber pineapple, horchata, orange pineapple, etc. I knew I wanted one but couldn't pick -- they kindly offered me a sample. The cucumber pineapple was perfect -- delightfully refreshing, not too sweet but not too cucumbery either, and so that was my choice. I ordered two birria tacos with a side of rice and beans to accompany my beverage. This was actually my first time trying birria. I've waited to try it because I wanted to try it somewhere I was confident would do it well -- reviews led me here. I wasn't disappointed. It was delicious: the beef was chewy, savory, succulent, so moist; the onions were crunchy but unobtrusive; the tortilla was thin and crispy; and the consommé for dipping was perfectly umami and surprisingly not insanely messy. The only thing that didn't completely knock my socks off was the rice. It wasn't bad, just kind of standard. The beans were, I think, charro beans -- definitely pintos, not refried. They were smoky and tender. Go out of your way to Gordo's Way -- you will not regret it.
