It seems consistent for Taco Bell to be slooooooow in the drive thru. I shake my head every time. I mean it's all the same meat, beans and chicken just going in a taco or burrito or on top of some other tortilla concoction they make up. But it takes forever to get the bag of tacos out. As I said this seems to be true for all the locations I have visited, but I give this one a second star for being slightly quicker and for getting the order correct most often. I understand Taco Bell is fast food and it might not be super filling but there should still be some focus on quality. We got two breakfast burritos and a breakfast crunchwrap but essentially we had three tortilla with a spoon of eggs and a spoon of potatoes. Last night I was thinking about the last time I had Taco Bell and you know what? I have no memory of actually eating Taco Bell! How terrible of a millennial am I?? (but Of course I took a look at my past Yelp reviews and did dine at one . . .bad experience) I swung by the drive-thru around 1:30 AM after, erm, activities . . . and was greeted by a nice drive-thru cashier over the intercom. I asked to take a look at the menu first and he had no problem with it, plus there was nobody in line behind me yet. I chose a cheesy gordita crunch and 6 piece naked chicken chips. And now we wait . . . and wait . . . and waited for a good 15 minutes with only 2 cars ahead of me. Considering the dine-in restaurant was closed, I could not believe how long this wait was until I reached the front and noticed literally 2 employees - the cashier and a cook. Uh what?? Obviously this location is busy on a friday night as so, why would they not put at least 1 more employee on the line?? Granted this isn't the employees' fault, It was an immediate drop to a 1 star. BUT The friendly cashier gave it a bump, and one item from my order gave it a bump as well. I'll start with my less favorite option of the two: the naked chicken chips. For some reason I thought and expected these to be coated in doritos or cheesy flavor taco seasoning something or other, but it's literally breaded chicken triangles with cheese sauce. See what they did there? Protein packed tortilla chips, yay! But, nothing exciting let alone flavorful, so that was a disappointment. But then I ate the cheesy gordita crunch . . . WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSING ALL MY LIFE!? The soft tortilla with melty cheese, then, wait, what is that - a CRUNCHY TACO SHELL! The juicy ground beef, fresh lettuce and then . . . wait for it . . .SPICY RANCH! Seriously, this was something good! I'm a huge fan of Taco Bell... I'm pretty easy going when they forget something or forget to take something on or off a burrito/taco. I went in there today, not only did they forget my nacho fries, they gave us a burnt quesadilla and also a taco with a hair on it. I HAVE NEVER came across this issue anywhere. This may be, arguably, the slowest Taco Bell drive-thru in the history of mankind. I've been here twice, using the drive-thru both times, and a line of 4-5 cars took a solid 15 minutes. I realize it seems insane, when written out, to expect food in under 3 minutes per car, but that's why I went to a place that makes tacos and burritos out of some sort of space-meat. Get that joint to me in 1-2 minutes per car, or I'm going somewhere else. Luckily for this location, they got my order correct both times. That is, no cheese. Can't do the lactose. Pity me. Still, I was able to eat my food without disassembling it and trying to hand-pick anything out, which isn't always the case with fast food restaurants. So, food gets 3 stars for being what I hoped it would be. Futuristic, synthetic meat-goop in a shell. Service gets a 1-star for costing me valuable time I could have spent on stomach pain from eating plastic. "Meh. I've experienced better." Indeed. Let's get this thing moving. read more
