This review isn't about one visit, nor twice. Nor unfortunately even three times. This is a nonstop issue- and you might ask, why keep coming back? Very good question. I've experienced bad taco bells- we all have. But this is like... a 'before' picture of a better restaurant, or an 'example of what not to do' training video. The employees, MANY of them that work the late shift, are very often high as a kite/methed out. This isn't conjecture- they've straight up said so as an excuse for the consistently loony-toons experiences! I just wish the meth made them move more efficiently, because the wait times are off the charts and the results are something you hold your breath and pray the best for. Who is the manager here? I mean, Taco Bell Corporate- you need to take serious note. This is literally one of your restaurants being run by absolute drugged out, junkie employees and management. Like this location was not the most stellar to begin with long wait times orders off and screwed up. But today took the cake. They refuse to take my order if I wasn't placed it on the kiosk. I don't like using the kiosk for a number of reasons including the fact that sometimes I like to make alterations that the system does not support but from working in the establishments I know is really not that difficult. They told me they need eight customers an hour to justify having someone who can take an order at the counter. I stated while you're getting one less order than because of that stupid policy and as I'm leaving they shut after me "when we lose one, we gain more!" Obviously not, or you wouldn't be complaining about not being able to hire a counter worker. I went yesterday to redeem a reward and order 2 Happier Hour sodas at the Drive-thru. The app said pull up to the speaker and tell them my name. When I did, the lady on the speaker didn't know what I was talking about. She Didn't know what to do. I repeated my order 2 more times. She still didn't understand. So she said I should pull up to the window. When I did, I explained again what my order was and even showed Ivan the screen on my phone that showed everything. First visit, the soft tacos were basically squashed in the bottom with about 25 taco sauce sachets. All were squashed and leaking at the edges leaving a total mess. Thinking we'd try again today. June 30, the last episode was a fluke. Again the same treatment All the soft tacos were squashed. This time no sauces to use!! And as if to insult to injury, one of the soft tacos had no wrap at all, just sitting in the bottom of the bag as shown in the photo! You've taken $60 in total from us for this. I waited almost 20 mins for an order of fries with chicken and toppings, a burrito, and some of Cinnabon bites. I was served my food, took it to my car and was not even 3 mins down the road - food was dead cold in the center. Cinnabon bites were still congealed like frosting. My fries were cold in the center and so was the chicken on top. This place will get someone sick if they haven't already - called to let them know they need to check food temps and they offered to remake. No thanks - not at that long of a wait for cold food! It's Taco Bell. They do what they do, and they do it well. You get what you pay for. They have a variety of items on the menu, service is fast, and the food is hot. What more can you ask for? This particular restaurant is clean, staff is friendly, and the area around the building, including the parking lot is always well-maintained. Went through the drive through and waited a long time because all of the workers were too busy playing with a baby instead of working and it was so unsanitary, the only person that was actually working was the cook. The customer service at this location is on point, the wait times are shorter than any location I've been to, and the order accuracy continues to be flawless. While I'll reserve the specifics of my order, I'd like to mention I made a mistake and the staff willingly corrected it in a timely fashion. Also, I decided to try the new nacho fries and LOVED them. 3 years ago this was the best TB: good food, made well, and good customer service. Now, if I could give this place negative starts, I would. Within the last year this place has gone to the dumps. The food is made terribly, if the orders even correct. My food been everything from crushed to pieces, cold, burnt, barely any filling, never having the right sized cups but won't tell you and still charge you for what you don't get, the list goes on. The workers are also terribly rude, dismissive and disrespectful. I understand times are hard in the food industry, but when greeted with kindness from a customer and you're automatically rude! This is my local #southmilwaukee TB. I go here often. They are most usually friendly and make decent food. They see me often and bring my food out to the table if it's not crazy busy. I appreciate that. I should check in every time I'm here. I'll start doing that, as my husband teases me that I must own stock by now. Hahahaha!I hope your experiences are as pleasant as mine. This Taco Bell is in my old hometown of South Milwaukee (Go Rockets!) and about two blocks from my 90-year old grandma's apartment. If I lived where she did, that would be dangerous, and I could roll down College Avenue and would probably weigh enough to use the Drive Thru for my Fourth Meal everyday.... This is a stand-alone Taco Bell; not one of those crappy dual stores Yum! Brands is so fond of erecting nowadays. But who am I kidding? My side orders of jalapenoes alone probably pays the salary of an executive secretary at Yum HQ down there in Kentucky. With the new Volcano and Black Jack Tacos, she'll receive a nice bonus come Christmas too! The customer service here is A-1! I was greeted with gusto by a few employees as I waited to order. Ah Taco Bell, Is it just another Taco Bell?? Not really. Will they satisfy that post beer run hunger? yes. Or a bad case of the munchies? yes. Do they have exactly the same McMexican food as every other Taco Bell in the civilized world? yes. Then what makes this location special you ask? Well, apparently their corporate employee development program is working and the employees are taking their training to heart. They really come across as nice, they really do. What's more bizarro is that they actually portray themselves as caring employees; like they actually want to do a good job!! Amazing. This is the location closest to my work, so we hit it occasionally for lunch. Each and every time, I am greeted very politely and served very quickly. What more could you ask for from your friendly neighborhood Taco Bell?? The Taco Bell closest to my house is on 50th & North and let me tell you, those people could take a few lessons from this South Milwaukee location. Other pleasant things about this location: Huge parking lot, huge interior, and general overall cleanliness.
