    Just a corner bar.
    Steven T.

I wish Barb S. Would have included some very important details about the food in her review before I drove down there because there was no Fry Bread Tacos or Burger Bombs on the weekends. The Fry Bread Tacos is on Monday's only. The Burger Bombs are on every other Wednesday alternating with a Phill Cheese Steak, now you know before you drive over. My visit today was based solely on her review and I didn't get the whole experience that she has had and I wanted. Ok now that I'm here and and the every day menu is all I have to work with I'm going to get the $5 build your burger. The place it self is a neighborhood corner bar, old school dive with a military theme, a pool table in the back, small kitchen, music machine with a few taps. River west Stein was on tap so that would be my lunch beer. As I walk in I see a couple burgers on the grill and they are not commercial looking but hand formed to my surprise so I look at the menu and these start at $5 for a big build your own burger, nice and $7.50 for the combo with a side. I asked if I could get a rare burger and I was told yes and yes the beef was a ball that is hand formed in front of you. The bar is small with no tables so you will have to eat at the bar. The burger was a bigger one so I opted for no sides with cheddar, raw onion, lettuce and tomato which didn't take long and you can watch it getting made. The burger had thick cut tomato and raw red onion with the crappy iceberg lettuce and average pickles on a fresh toasted soft bun. It was not bad looking for a $5 bar burger and cooked rare. I really like when the meat is hot off the grill and the toppings are fresh/cold/crisp because it's a nice balance for a burger. I like the bar/beer/burger lunch thing once in a while and this was a good choice, a decent beer and a fresh cheeseburger for just under $10 was almost unbelievable and a nice surprise. I just wish my first visit could have been the Burger Bomb for my review but I would definitely go back the beer and food..

Great bar food. The wings are crisp just the way I like them. The burgers are juicy, several menu choices or build your own. Don't forget to add peanut butter to your bacon.

Loud drunk at bar, slow service, bad beef sandwich. That'll be a NOPE for next time. There's gotta be better ... lots better.

Trackers Fish Fry Friday is the best in South Milwaukee and you have the option for tater tots instead of French fry's also.

They have indoor and outdoor dining spaces available. Outdoor is on the sidewalk but still looks enjoyable. As you can tell we opted for inside. The restaurant was lively. Slightly difficult to hold a conversation unless you're with a bunch of loud talkers. Our server was attentive and gave us time to look over the menu, even on a busy Friday night. We shared the guac appetizer. Good for the 3 of us, but order another if you have more people. Otherwise, we had a mix of tacos and fajitas. We all enjoyed the various items and will be back in the future.

We run into different people and we always end up talking to them and having a good time. Everything made here is made by Maria. Something people need to remember, Mexico has many regions, each region makes their food different. Maria's food is authentic. Everything is made per order from scratch. Start with the guac, it takes time to make it, but it is worth it. Tues is Taco Tuesday, 3 for $7 tacos, hard shell, made from scratch, soft corn or flour. Wed is wings, 10 for $11, Friday is fish fry, I don't remember the price, but believe me it is very reasonable. I tried the fish tacos, they were very good too. It was recommended by a couple of friends to try the shrimp tacos' and I have yet to try them. The beans and rice are fantastic and you get a good amount. It is a corner bar and your food gets served on regular plates which impressed me. So many places have gone to the metal trays or even paper plates. I have included some of the pictures of what we have had here. There is a full menu and I need to explore more on the menu. Today I tried the hard shell tacos and they did not disappoint. My husband had flour. They come American style unless you ask for Mexican style. We have had the fish fry, it is great. Get to know Maria, she is great. She periodically makes tamales. Watch her facebook page, most times she will post when she gets done making them. They are labor intensive, she starts early and gets done at 3:30 - 4:00. She makes pork or chicken tamales.

The few people in the bar were seated at the bar. We sat at the bar and enjoyed watching horse races on a tv. There was a pool table at one end slot machine and a pull-tab machine at the other end of the bar. I would stop in again. I took off 1 star because the joint is CASH ONLY! They do have a time machine but still, JS

So the staff is challenged in many ways. I ordered a personal pepperoni/sausage pizza and it was missing the sausage. The bartender who could not leave her phone alone did not seem to care so I asked did the cook make a mistake and she replied she did not hear me say sausage. She offered to remake it and I said no. The crust is crap and it was over cooked. Others have said the same. I was watching drag racing (auto drag racing) on the main TV in front of me and another server changed the channel. I said what are doing?! She smiled and said Bingo Tuesday, 7pm. It was 6:40pm. So for 40 minutes it was a static photo. I moved to watch it on a smaller crappy TV. She walked over and kissed her, I assume, physically, gravitationaly challenged lover. Asked to cash out. Prior to walking there I checked the online menu, typical bar food but I had a taste for pizza. Online a personal two topping was $10 and I was charged $12. She looked online and adjusted the price for me. This is not the first time I came across the buy-1-get-1 beer coupon and if another comes along I will pass.

Ryan bought out his partner so I figured give them another try. We did get fried pickles on each of our sandwiches, I got seasoned fries ( I would say battered, but I didn't taste any seasoning), and he got tots. My husband's burger was good, the server was not doing well this morning due to being over zealous last night with alcohol and she never asked how he wanted his burger, pink or no pink. It came out no pink, but it was not dry and was good. The burger is supposed to come with lettuce, tomato and onion. I had a BLT, well I had a BL, they did not have tomato. I was not told this by our server, when the sandwich came I noticed no tomato and I asked the other server and she said they were out of tomatoes. I told her I wish I would have known as I would have ordered something else. No offer of a discount, no offer of ordering something else, no I am sorry. She then told our server that they are out of tomatoes, well they are not out as they ran out, the owner said they are too expensive so he is not buying them. SHEET! A BLT has very few ingredients and tomato is one of the main ingredients. Not having tomato on a burger is a little different than not having tomato on a BLT. If you do are not buying ingredients, all of your staff needs to know an you need to let the customer know before the order comes out without the ingredients. Disappointed to say the least. I will give them one more try as we are really trying to shop local and support SM businesses. They do have a brunch on Saturday and Sunday, I did not get a picture of the 4 breakfast items, but you can order anything on the menu.

The prices are reasonable and the amount of food to me is perfect. You don't get an overload, you get enough with some leftovers at times. We were there for breakfast and they have a person that he comes around asking if you need more coffee. More restaurants need this type of employee. One of my pet peeves is not getting asked if I need more coffee. I am not one to sit and drink a pot, but I will want a second cup. He also cleans the tables, but he makes sure everyone is served first. The servers are so darn nice, they all have smiles and are honestly there to help and serve you. It is a change from what is in other restaurants. Breakfast, depending on what you get, you get a choice of potato or pancake. He had 2 eggs over medium, bacon, you get 4 pieces made just as we like, and hashbrowns. I got homemade cornd beef hash, American fries, 2 eggs over medium. The server asked if we wanted to add onion to the potatoes, and yes of course we do. You also get your choice of toast, they have several types of bread, or pancake. The eggs were made to perfection as was everything else. I was a bit surprised to get asked for potato as corned beef hash has potato in it, but there was not a lot of potato, it was a lot of corned beef and it definitely was home made. Their hours are Monday closed, Tues-Thurs 8-2:30, Fri 8-8, Sat and Sun 6:30-2. We were there Sunday at around 10 and when we left it was getting busy. We did stop by last month for lunch, he had a reuben and I had a tuna melt, both were fantastic. The service was great as always also.
