I've been meaning to check out Taco Bros for quite some time now. I'm familiar with their Woodward location in Royal Oak since it's close to my house, but this Orchard Lake location in Farmington Hills is pretty close to work, so I finally decided to give it a shot for lunch. I was browsing their menu online earlier and their burritos looked really good, which ultimately sealed the deal. I started with a small order of chips and salsa and ordered a loaded burrito with al pastor. The chips were perfectly crispy, and the salsa had a great flavor--fresh with just the right balance. While I was waiting for my burrito (around 1:15 PM, just past the lunch rush), I noticed a steady stream of customers coming in for takeout along with multiple DoorDash pickups. That alone told me this place is doing something right. When my burrito was ready, I was pleasantly surprised that they actually brought it out to me. The burrito itself was a great size, packed with flavor, and incredibly filling. I left feeling completely satisfied. I've seen people mention that the dining room is limited, and while it is on the smaller side, there's still plenty of seating for dine-in. The vibe is really cool, the place is clean, and the customer service was excellent from start to finish. Overall, Taco Bros absolutely lived up to the hype. I'll definitely be coming back here again for lunch. read more

October is celebrated as National Taco Month! I ventured out on a Taco Tuesday to try a new spot! Out here in these yelping streets, I visited Taco Bros on Orchard Lake Rd. They are promoted as Mexican Street Food. I was pleasantly impressed with photo op wall that reads, 'I can't make everyone happy. I'm not a taco.' lol The three tacos I tried - corn steak taco, chicken flour taco and a shrimp taco plus guacamole. The shrimp taco was the winner by a landslide. I took my meal to-go. The service was quick! One thing I did notice that all the customers dining in and getting takeout were men! Things that make you go hmmm! read more

Nice fast food taco joint. For my first order here I ended up getting a steak and El Pastor taco's on corn tortilla's. These taco's are as advertised, where they are indeed authentic Mexican street taco's with the protein of choice, cilantro, and onions and a lime wedge and salsa on the side. The taco's were well made with tender meat and quite tasty all at a bargain price of $2.90 each albeit they could have used a tad bit of Mexican spice to take it to the next level. Very small gripe here. Chips and Salsa, which were extra cost here, were quite tasty as well, where the salsa had a bit of a bite to it but not too hot by any means. The restaurant itself is quite clean with a counter order operation, consistent with the fast food model, with plenty of seating inside and even a few tables outside on a small terrace. This business is a perfect spot for a quick meal when time is of the essence and are looking for something better than your typical fast food but at a price that that is commensurate with fast food. Nice! Relative to staff. they were quite friendly and prompt in both the ordering process and delivery of the food. Overall if you are a fan of Mexican food but are in a hurry than this business is definately in the sweet spot you are looking for. read more

Taco bros is always a solid choice for some good tacos. I always get the chicken with the corn shell. Really good! I've had their bowls before as well and they are also pretty tasty! Everything tasted seasoned and made to order. As far as tacos go I'd say I would definitely visit again. read more

Stopped in to get carryout for lunch. Smallish restaurant with some seating but not a bunch. Service was friendly and I didn't wait long for the food. I ordered the large (super?) quesadilla with steak. This was solid. The tortilla was a bit greasy, so I used a napkin to absorb some of it. Plenty of meat and cheese in it which was great. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very tender. The guac was fine. Nothing special, but by no means bad. Finally, the mild salsa was delicious. I would buy this by the bottle if I could. This is a very lousy birria taco . Starting off the presentation just is off... it looks smushed together and just lousy. The consome was so tiny it made me laugh. How am I supposed to eat 3 tacos with this little Dixie cup sized container of broth? I tasted the broth - it's made very lousy as well and watered down. The only thing that slightly saved this review getting a one star is the bright green salsa that came with it. That was the only good thing about this order. Tried Taco Bros for the first time tonight it was pretty good! The flour and corn tacos were delicious. They had great hot sauces/salsa, seemed homemade! The green one was a 7/10 spicy level! We also had the loaded steak fries, that was a great portion size and tasted good! Will be back read more

My first time trying this new-ish spot, formerly Dunkin Donuts that was a staple for many years. The tacos were very good. My only complaint is the steep additional fee for sour cream and other accompaniments. I would definitely try it again since the food was above average. read more

The food here was just ok. Not my favorite Mexican place. I did enjoy the asada taco as they were delicious. I did not like the salsa at all. The rice was really good too. You can get two tacos with rice and beans, but you can't choose different meats. I like having two different kind of tacos so this was a disappointment. I wanted to try their other meats, but I couldn't do that in a combo. They did not have e carnitas either which made me sad as it's my favorite. Honestly would never order from here again; I wish I could give them the benefit of the doubt but the poor quality of the food and complete lack of seasoning (no seasoning whatsoever on meat that is clearly low quality akin to dog food) dooms this restaurant. I visited this restaurant when they first opened and the service was amazing - I hope for their sake these issues get fixed but I'll never return to this restaurant. The asada in SUPER Quesadilla - MEAT was BLAND NO seasoning; this was not asada this was rubbery grey dog food. I have never in my life not finished a meal but this was inedible - I found myself scraping off the steak just to try to have something edible for dinner - but even the soggy greasy tortilla and cheese could not save my night. The Birria Ramen was one of the more disgusting things I've ever had served to me - it smelled horrible with more bland chunks of flavorless meat thrown in. It was one of those dishes where you take a single bite, make an "oh no, what's wrong with this dish?" Reaction, and do not return for a second bite. I'm not sure how broth can be rotten but this needs to be taken off the menu until it's fixed. Also BRO you are charging NINE DOLLARS for a single bag of OLD STALE UNSALTED CHIPS and BLAND UNSEASONED Large Chips & Guacamole YOU ARE CRAZY. SEASON YOUR FOOD!!!! SALT AND PEPPER ARE YOUR FRIENDS. I ordered the Cali Burrito and the Quesadilla both with steak. Both were just alright. Very uneven distribution of ingredients in the burrito, which also almost entirely fell apart after the first bite. The steak did not feel premium and it honestly looked like ground beef. Seasoning on the meat was very minimal. Their spicy salsa was pretty bland too. Fast service, but I did go right around opening time and there was no one else there. Paid $21 for a burrito, quesadilla, and their largest fountain drink. If I could think of one word to describe the experience it would be "unremarkable" or "bland". read more

Fast casual Mexican restaurants seem to be very common these days. Taco Bros is a great place to stop for lunch if you're in Farmington Hills. They have a variety of different menu options between tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and even tortas. Service is fast and friendly, the dining area is clean and vibrant, and the best part of all is the food is excellent. Next time I come back I'll be sure to get the tacos. read more

3.5/5 so I'll round up to 4. A while ago this used to be a Dunkin', I think, and I was waiting for this place to open. My fiance got the loaded al pastor burrito, and I got the 3 birria corn tacos with consommé. Mine was good - not the best birria I've had but pretty decent. My fiance liked his burrito, as well. The horchata had nice presentation, in a reusable container, but unfortunately tasted like it was from a mix. Next time I want to get the birria quesadillas, they looked really good. Not ALL the birria options come with consommé, though, so be sure to look when you order. Also, I placed our order online and it looks like it was through a DoorDash system but all of the prices were the same as at the restaurant, which was nice. Overall this was decent Mexican food and I will probably be back since my fiance lives so close to it. read more

I was so excited to see a Mexican restaurant take over the former Dunkin Donuts location. I am a fan of Mexican, not so much of Dunkin. Lol. It took me too long to get here, but I finally got there today. I ordered a hard shell taco with steak and a loaded burrito with chicken. Oh my. The taco was definitely out of the ordinary. Even the shell was fresh and tasty. It was a lot more filling than I thought it would be. The burrito was huge -- and I'm glad that they cut it in half! Because I'd eaten the taco, I could only eat half of the burrito, which makes me happy because I have the other half for tomorrow! I don't generally like guacamole, but wrapped up with all the other ingredients, it wasn't bad. I will definitely be coming here more often -- especially since it's just around the corner! read more

So good! Both hubby and I got the breaded shrimp tacos and they were fabulous. The shrimp was crispy, the flour shells were toasted, the pico de gallo was fresh. We also got a side of guac, which was delicious. This is a fast casual restaurant, so you order at the register and they bring the food to your table. The space is clean and comfortable. Stopped in on a Saturday evening. They were busy with people coming and going and waiting. Every time I pass it looks busy. We had a couple of chicken tacos and a couple of beef burria. Disappointing. Everything was flavorless. For me the meat was cooked well, but had no flavor or seasoning. The hot sauce was not hot, bland. Maybe they didn't give us hot sauce? The burria was flavorless. Maybe I don't know how to dress up street tacos correctly? I thought it was on the expensive side for the amount of food.. We had 4 small tacos and a soda for over $16. Was in the are and saw Taco Bros sign instead of Dunkin that used to be there. Stopped by for a quick bite. Was not sure what to get and asked the girl at the register for recommendation she suggested a torta I choose a chicken as a protein with a side of guacamole. Food was cooked fast and had a good flavor, the only thing lacking in my opinion was a side sauce was flavorless and had no spice at all. I was in the area two days ago when Taco Bros appeared in my peripheral vision. I turned my head and saw several cars in the parking lot. I was intrigued so I took a quick trip through the nearby roundabout and returned to the restaurant. I had dinner plans elsewhere later that evening so I allowed myself only one menu item. I chose the birria quesadilla on a flour tortilla. What a surprisingly great choice. The birria was seasoned perfectly and had me salivating for more. Excited to try this brand New Mexican Street Food spot near West Bloomfield. I found it driving by although they're not yet listed on Google or Yelp. Food looks great and there's quite a slew of people coming here on a Wednesday night. I ordered carry out before seeing the amazing Torta which looks like a sandwich but is filled with taco fillings. Will definitely try that next time. I ordered a small chicken nachos which was a pretty good size. The cheese had a nice spicy kick to it and was really good with the sour cream and guac that came with it. I also ordered the Cali burrito, side of rice and beans, cheese quesadilla, and a small hard shell taco. My kids loved the nachos and rice and beans. We will definitely eat here again. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service! I asked for nachos with the chips on the side, and they flat-out refused--even though everything else already comes separately. The nachos only come with meat on top, so there was no reason they couldn't accommodate such a simple request. Instead, they told me to order a bowl but then tried to charge me an extra $10 for the same toppings! I even asked if I could get nachos with no chips, and that wasn't an option either. The cook claimed it would be 'too time-consuming,' which made no sense, especially since they already have bags of chips prepped and ready. As a loyal customer, I expect better. I refuse to spend my money at a business that lacks basic customer service and integrity over something so small. I won't be back--this was beyond ridiculous! read more

Me and my family got taco bros for the first time last night and we were very pleased with everything. The rice and beans was the best we've had in a long time. Online ordering was easy and fast. Just a note: there is more on the menu in person than online. It was under $30 for me and my husband and child, which is very rare these days. Came here because the reviews looked decent. I ordered a loaded burrito and a Birra quesadilla. How was I charged $26 ??? My burrito ended up just being ground beef and not the Asada that I ordered. And the quesadilla ended up being three small tacos. Normally, I would've said something to the staff, but everyone working seemed miserable to be there. Not good vibes at this establishment at all. For $13 you get a burrito with meat, rice, and guac that's it... Chipotle would've given me more food for less money. The food is average at best...definitely will not be coming back here ever again.
