We've been coming here since 2018 on a chance, and it truly is our favorite Mexican restaurant. Food is always hot, and authentically flavorful. We usually go for a good fajita (of any of the flavors, all are delicious) or a monster burrito to share (jam-packed with rice, meat and veggies so enough to share)! food was good except for the rice it was dry and flavourless. I can't speak on the beans because I don't really like refried beans. I told the guy I didn't need the rice or beans but he brought it anyway for some reason. My dad wanted his rice and beans, so maybe he was confused. I don't know if our server was new or not. My dad had to ask twice for his Pepsi and I had to ask a second time for the salsa. I requested to go with my tacos. The wait time wasn't long since it was during the week and early enough in the night so that was nice. I'm used to waiting a very long time here. It's always very busy and crowded here. I also asked for a to go queso sauce I told him I didn't need the chips. He totally forgot about that as well and then brought the bill. I was very annoyed that I had to ask a second time and then he wanted to charge $11 for that he insisted that he takes back the bill and adjust it and I said oh you're going to charge me for that even though you already brought the bill and I've had to ask twice okay at this point I was so annoyed but I gave him back the bill anyways so he could adjust for it. I didn't know just the dip was $11. I would have re thought a carry out. I told him I didn't need the chips because we have chips at home. I don't know if they changed their rice recipe but the rice was extremely dry and flavourless. I took a few bites and it was hard to choke down overall I really like this place but I'm really second-guessing even coming back because the taco food truck that's down the street from my house is much better than this at this point and the prices are crazy. I didn't know how much the prices have changed. My dad got a burrito rice and beans. I got three tacos and we got a carryout queso and the bill was almost $60.?!?! this definitely was not exceptional service by any means I am keeping three stars because out of the other experiences I have had here this is just one not so good one usually we have come here and it's been great. My parents have come here a few times in 2025. After my husband asked a simple question in Spanish about their recent closure, she rushed over, leaned into our booth, and physically trapped us there while demanding to know why we asked. I told her repeatedly to step back, and she refused. Her behavior was hostile, aggressive, and unmistakably intimidating. I've never had an owner treat customers with this level of disrespect. We won't be back. No one should have to worry about being cornered by management while trying to eat. read more

First i want to say that our server was very nice .... the food was really good, they have so many options of yummy Mexican dishes to choose from and their drink options are from flights to tree patrons to just a margarita . This is a large portion, Americanized Mexican restaurant. We were a group of 12. There seems to be some confusion with the staff. A call was made the day before to make a reservation. We were told no problem . Then when we arrive they said they didn't take reservations. Luckily one of our party showed up early and ended up arranging for all of us to sit at a table. There has been an ongoing debate as to whether or not this restaurant makes their own guacamole or if it comes out of a bag. Upon inquiring with the staff, they say they make their own guacamole. Meeting my hustle buddies for dinner at Las Palapas was the best part of my day! Great conversation! Great laughs! Great service! Great food! We didn't want leave. We started with salsa and chips. I can appreciate them serving their chips warm, a decanter of delicious salsa and four individual bowls to allow for double dipping. Refills were provided too. They could teach a few other restaurants on how to properly serve salsa and chips. The checklist of great food and nice portions was also met. I had the fried avocado tacos with refried beans and rice. The beans and rice were delicious! Everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. Our server, Jesus H., was excellent. His colleague, who brought our meals to the table, was done in a unique way at Las Palapas. He wore a long sleeve oven mitt with all our hot plates from the top of his arm to his wrist on top of the oven mitt. Pretty cool! There were several celebrations going on with other diners. The staff gives the person a free shot or a free dessert along with a clapping serenade. We witnessed this about four times. There are all kinds of festive decorations throughout the restaurant. I live talk close to this place and love Mexican food so I don't know why I never tried it. Man, all that wasted time! I can't believe the portion sizes! Came home with almost as much food as I ate there. Nobody in my party had a drink so I can't comment on them but everyone raved about their food. I love street tacos and was happy that you could mix and match. The chicken quesadilla looked great - it was so stuffed with chicken that it was impossible to pick up and eat the way you normally do with quesadillas. We were there on a Tuesday night and there was a significant wait, a sign they are doing something right! They do have benches to sit on both inside and outside while waiting for your table. This place was packed even though my friend and I had a later lunch (after 1pm), so we had to sit at the bar. From what I hear, it's always busy since the food is so good! So that's something to keep in mind if you don't like crowded restaurants. Birria tacos: they were delicious and had a generous amount of meat. The consommé dip was great with it. I asked for no cilantro and onion which unfortunately didn't happen (not a fan of raw onions and cilantro tastes like soap to me), but I was able to pick most of it off. The homemade chips and salsa were fresh and tasty. We also got some queso which was thick, creamy, and hearty - very good. $10 for queso is expensive, but it also goes a long way. I had a little bit of sticker shock and service wasn't the best, but the food was great. I was in between 4 and 5 stars because of the service, but the food pushes it to 5. This place is becoming a new favorite! The service is always good, friendly, quick and accommodating. I like the interior, it's fun and it has a festive vibe. I also like the way the seating is as it allows to have your own space even with a larger crowd. The star of the show is the food. Starting with the salsa and chips, really good! They also have a hotter version of salsa they will bring upon request, spicy and tasty. They also have an array of hot sauces upon request as well. The choices of entrees, apps and drinks are plentiful. Each meal has its own unique flavors and the portions are quite generous. The place reminds me of a tiki bar setting to have drinks and party but the food is amazing. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The botana is Humongous just like the burritos are. The Fajitas are great. I had the shrimp and my husband son made agh had the steak. My daughter had the burrito which she was only able to eat a quarter of it. It barely fit in the to go box. The only thing I would say is the table was too small to have 3 fajitas serving and the burrito to fit everything on it lol. My wife and I came in as regular customers after noticing the restaurant had just reopened after being closed for a few days. A passing server (not even our assigned server) said hello, and I casually asked why the restaurant had been closed. She mentioned it had something to do with her bosses and wasn't sure if police were involved. Shortly after, the owner came to our table in a very aggressive manner and demanded to know what we asked the server. When I calmly explained, she immediately became defensive and hostile, raised her voice, and accused us of assuming things. She leaned over our table in an aggressive way and physically blocked our exit, which made my wife extremely uncomfortable. My wife asked her multiple times to please move so we could leave. Instead of calming the situation, the owner told us we could leave in a rude manner. What should have been a normal lunch turned into a stressful and intimidating experience. We left without eating. Best authentic Mexican food I've found in my area and we love coming here for lunch. Sometimes you need to wait but it's never too long, even though they always stay packed. The decor is a little much but I also love it, there's so much to look at. I also love that the vibe is just relaxed and chill, people just there to eat good food in good company. Their margs are so good (Skinny Raspberry and Coconut Lime yummmm) and there are so many flavors. We always get queso bc it's delicious and just the right spice.
