First i want to say that our server was very nice .... the food was really good, they have so many options of yummy Mexican dishes to choose from and their drink options are from flights to tree patrons to just a margarita . This is a must try for sure and you want to add yourself to the wait list because they were busy even for a Tuesday night... even at the bar.

This is a large portion, Americanized Mexican restaurant. We were a group of 12. There seems to be some confusion with the staff. A call was made the day before to make a reservation. We were told no problem . Then when we arrive they said they didn't take reservations. Luckily one of our party showed up early and ended up arranging for all of us to sit at a table. There has been an ongoing debate as to whether or not this restaurant makes their own guacamole or if it comes out of a bag. Upon inquiring with the staff, they say they make their own guacamole. I ordered a large for the table and most people ranked it a 6 out of 10. The food arrived in a timely fashion. It was plentiful. And most people seem to enjoy what they chose. It's an American Mexican restaurant.

We went here for lunch today and everything was delicious. The chips and salsa was very good and we each got individual bowls which I liked. I had a frozen strawberry margarita and it was very good. My brother got the quesadilla and loved it. I got the camarones a la diabla - it was delicious and perfectly spicy. The food portions are huge and delicious, the service was great and just an overall great time.

I visited this restaurant for the first time last week. The wait time was an hour and half but luckily we were able to eat outside. I ordered a vegetable bowl with steak and it was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly. I would definitely order this dish again. We also ordered the Patron Tower which was just kool-aid. The drinks definitely were watered down so that was very disappointing. We even ordered extra shots of Patron but it was NOT Patron maybe well tequila but horrible. I will come again but NOT for the drinks.

dad got a burrito. I got tacos rice and beans was served on the side for me.

food was good except for the rice it was dry and flavourless. I can't speak on the beans because I don't really like refried beans. I told the guy I didn't need the rice or beans but he brought it anyway for some reason. My dad wanted his rice and beans, so maybe he was confused. I don't know if our server was new or not. My dad had to ask twice for his Pepsi and I had to ask a second time for the salsa. I requested to go with my tacos. The wait time wasn't long since it was during the week and early enough in the night so that was nice. I'm used to waiting a very long time here. It's always very busy and crowded here. I also asked for a to go queso sauce I told him I didn't need the chips. He totally forgot about that as well and then brought the bill. I was very annoyed that I had to ask a second time and then he wanted to charge $11 for that he insisted that he takes back the bill and adjust it and I said oh you're going to charge me for that even though you already brought the bill and I've had to ask twice okay at this point I was so annoyed but I gave him back the bill anyways so he could adjust for it. I didn't know just the dip was $11. I would have re thought a carry out. I told him I didn't need the chips because we have chips at home. I don't know if they changed their rice recipe but the rice was extremely dry and flavourless. I took a few bites and it was hard to choke down overall I really like this place but I'm really second-guessing even coming back because the taco food truck that's down the street from my house is much better than this at this point and the prices are crazy. I didn't know how much the prices have changed. My dad got a burrito rice and beans. I got three tacos and we got a carryout queso and the bill was almost $60.?!?! this definitely was not exceptional service by any means I am keeping three stars because out of the other experiences I have had here this is just one not so good one usually we have come here and it's been great. My parents have come here a few times in 2025. I used to come here with them in 2024 and before I know they have been open for over 10 years more like 15 years but I don't know what has changed recently.

We've been coming here for years and the food and service has always been top notch! The best Mexican food in our area outside of Detroit. The staff are all courteous and friendly. The food comes out quick and hot. The restaurant decor has a tropical relaxing vibe. Definitely get on the waitlist online as the place is always busy!

Had a group of 10 get together at the restaurant. We all had a positive experience with the courteous staff and very good food. The portions were larger than expected, as everyone had leftovers to take home. Would definitely return to this restaurant again.

I live talk close to this place and love Mexican food so I don't know why I never tried it. Man, all that wasted time! I can't believe the portion sizes! Came home with almost as much food as I ate there. Nobody in my party had a drink so I can't comment on them but everyone raved about their food. I love street tacos and was happy that you could mix and match. The chicken quesadilla looked great - it was so stuffed with chicken that it was impossible to pick up and eat the way you normally do with quesadillas. We were there on a Tuesday night and there was a significant wait, a sign they are doing something right! They do have benches to sit on both inside and outside while waiting for your table. I did notice (after my visit) that there's an online wait-list you can join on their web page, good to know for next time, and there will for sure be a next time!

Came here for cinco this year with friends and while it was crazy busy, the staff was so nice and on top of it. They kept the chips and dips coming, the drinks were out at reasonable times for a busy day and the food felt like it only took 10-15 minutes (impressive for such a busy day) Everything was great i don't think anyone complained, maybe a missing side here and there but nothing that wasn't taken care of! Definitely need to come back soon to get those fried avocado tacos again!

The food quality, service, and overall experience were excellent. Very delicious. Highly recommended!

Conveniently located in a strip mall on the northeast corner of Plymouth Road and Farmington in Livonia is some of the best Mexican food in metro Detroit! There is a plenty of parking in a lot out front. There is dining room or bar seating and they have take out. Festively decorated and you can feel the vibe as soon as you walk thru the door. The bartenders and waitstaff has great and is always serving with a smile. All the Mexican classics - tacos, burritos, enchiladas. Las Palapas has them! Daily happy hour and lunch specials every Mon - Fri. My fave is the taco salad. And chips and fresh salsa with every meal. They have one of the biggest tequila selections in Michigan and the margaritas are to die for. You can even get them to go. If you live or work in the Livonia area and you like Mexican food you must try Las Palapas!

Awesome Tacos. One of my favorite places to eat. I'd drive an hour and pass through Mexican town to eat at Las Palapa's.

From Retro Bliss to Corporate Miss - 1Up's New Management Hits Rock Bottom…read more.. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. 1Up Arcade Bar, once my go-to haven for arcade nostalgia and friendly vibes, has devolved into a shell of its former self. Under the new management, the experience has gone from retro joy to something resembling a garish corporate money pit. If you're looking to relive the good old days of arcade glory, consider this your neon-lit warning sign to stay far, far away. First off, the bartenders. Remember last year when 1Up's bartenders were warm, cheerful, and chatty, making you feel like you were part of the family? Well, those days are deader than my high score on Pac-Man. The new bartenders treat you with the exact enthusiasm you'd expect from someone waiting at the DMV. Ordering a drink here feels like you've personally interrupted their day--and heaven forbid you ask any questions about the menu. Smiles? Gone. Friendly banter? Vanished. You're left standing there with your overpriced, uninspired drink wondering if you've wandered into a soulless high-end cocktail bar by mistake. Ah, the drinks. Once playful and creative masterpieces that added to 1Up's charm, they've been replaced with pretentious, unimaginative concoctions that scream, "We're fancy now; please empty your wallet." No fun, no spirit (pun intended), just overpriced disappointments. At their current price point, I half expected the drink to come with complimentary resentment from the staff. And don't get me started on the arcade machines. Gone are the iconic retro classics that made me feel like I'd stepped back into the golden age of arcades. Instead, the place is now stuffed with bright, flashy, wallet-draining horrors you'd find at a Dave and Buster's. What happened to the charm? The authenticity? Now it's just a playground for toddlers with no attention spans and those who value flashing lights over actual gameplay. Speaking of, if you're a Gen Z-er armed with your parents' credit card and an inability to go three seconds without dopamine overload, this place might actually be a dream come true for you. The rest of us? Not so much. Look, 1Up Arcade Bar used to be a gem, but now it feels like a soulless cash grab. Don't come here hoping for a genuine arcade bar experience because you'll leave disappointed--and poorer. Save your time, save your money, and spare yourself the heartbreak of seeing what this place has become. RIP, old 1Up. You are sorely missed.

The cocktails are stunning, the food (whether brunch or dinner) is consistently memorable, and apparently every plate is so beautiful that I feel compelled to photograph it. Beyond the food, the service is always exceptional. The staff strikes that perfect balance of polished and warm, making every visit feel like a special occasion. And then there's the atmosphere. The abundant natural light, thoughtful seasonal décor, and the undeniable gravitas of a beautifully restored former bank create an experience that feels both elegant and welcoming. The Ledger is absolutely worthy of being a destination restaurant for celebrations and milestones. But the biggest compliment I can give it is this: we don't save it only for special occasions. Whenever we're nearby, we make a point to stop because the food, drinks, and experience are just that good and the seasonal specials never stay as long as you'd hope. And of course, the speakeasy downstairs is always the perfect end to the night.
