Oh my gosh I wanted to like this place so badly. We love supporting local businesses and especially authentic Mexican family owned restaurants, there aren't enough of them in the East Valley and we live next to this one. We went in there to see the fight and we were underwhelmed. The server completely ignored us for about an hour after she brought out our drinks. It took another 30 minutes and us staring at them to get them to come over to take our order and then when our order came the beans were missing off our nachos and so they brought them on the side. The credit card machine was down and it took them a while to get it up and running again. There was no thank you's, no sense of warm family welcome, no checking in with us on what we try ought of the food or the experience. As a new restaurant that is family owned it's so important to check in on your guests because it would have really turned our experience around to feel like someone cared that we were there. The owner was fighting with the internet through out the night to get the fights to play. The food was underwhelming. The food was barely palatable, ugh so bummed out because we walked in so excited. read more

Michael is a legend. I talked with him for a minute, but then when I kept going up to the counter, I ended up talking to their Executive Chef, His mother. While the boys may run the grill and help push out the items, it's her flavor that they are putting out there. She was a total sweetheart and reminded me of my Nana who makes some of the best food I've ever had. The prices are perfect, the food is undercharged for what it should be, and the service is phenomenal. With several options of "tacos" in this area, of what I ate at Taco Bros was what I preferred. Typically to get the taste of what they offer, you'd have to go to a super sketch part of South Phoenix, but they slay with everything they offer. As an AZ Native, avoid the other spots near here, because this is where to go for the craving killer items you'd want from a taco shop. Tacos were tasty but... there's a lot to be desired when it comes to what one would expect from a taco place. The tacos are build it yourself and I can certainly appreciate that; however, their little build it bar is definitely lacking things you would expect to have: shredded cheese, lettuce, sour cream, etc. It had literally two kinds of salsa with a blend of onions/peppers and another with onions and cilantro. That's it. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed. Music super loud, too. And given how empty the place was when we visited on a Thursday night, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't stay open much longer. I stumbled upon this place and it is so good! Right across from Harkins so grab lunch or dinner before the movies. Great place to grab some authentic Mexican food with your family. Was really disappointed with our meal and experience here, given the high rating. The quesadilla with al pastor was completely burnt on one side, the cheese wasn't even melted, the meat was cold, no flavor, and tasted like it was old. The flautas were flavorless and tasted like it was fried in super old oil. The salsa bar had limes that were clearly old. Some of the sides tasted like they are from a can. I had really high hopes for this place. Since I'd rather eat real food before a movie. So first the good: this is probably the best Al pastor that I have ever had. It was amazing. So delicious. The Asada was really good too. My wife got the El Pastor burrito and it was absolutely amazing. Now the bad: (for the sake of this restaurant staying open. I really hope the owners or operators read these reviews and act on it.) the musical was extremely loud, and it wasn't just loud music, It was the same Christina Aguilera song on repeat for 15 minutes straight. It's almost like somebody forgot they had this one song on repeat. This is a Mexican restaurant that doesn't know that it's a Mexican restaurant. The seating was very confusing. The employee that greeted us and told us to find any place to sit, and after a few minutes brought us some menus. After some more time they came and took our order and then brought our food. This is when it got weird . they politely said there's napkins and silverware over at the salsa bar. I found the salsa bar, but it was in a dark corner, and there was only one single napkin at a time dispenser, which I found to be very odd and the plastic utensils were in bins at the salsa bar. They really need to just bring them out with the food. They really need to have napkin dispensers at the table. when it was time for us to be done, we ended up having to bus our own tables, which was a little confusing and then go to the counter to pay like an old-fashioned Denny's. But it wasn't very clear and it made for an offputting experience. The lady that seems to be the owner is extremely nice and I wish her the best of luck . I hope she reads this review and makes the changes and runs this restaurant more efficiently. I would recommend utensils at the tables, napkin dispensers at the tables, lights on the salsa bar and a clear check out flow. And finally, pick a theme and go with it. The club music on repeat really loud plus the games on the TVs made for a weird vibe. I would turn the music down a little bit and pick something more in line with the food you're serving. Go take a tour of Backyard taco and see how they do it. The food was really good though, and at this point if I had to go back right now, I would just get it to go and eat elsewhere because the vibe of the restaurant is so weird. read more

Very reasonably priced food (which seems hard to come by these days) and everything was tasty. The folks working there were very nice and attentive. The owner (??? I think he was the owner) let us know about some of the renovations they're planning soon and about the art work that will be going up. We're excited to try it again and see the changes! If I could give a zero rating, I would. Stoped in to grab a bite to eat, place had mixed reviews so we took the chance.. what a mistake. When we sat down after a few minutes out server "executive chef" came over and took our drink order. We originally ordered ice tea, they don't have ice tea only coke products, no worries we ordered a Dr pepper, she is gone for a few minutes and come back says they are out of Dr Pepper, fine how about a sprite. We place our order for nachos and 2 street tacos. I have to say that part was pretty quick within a few minutes we had our food, greasy chips with gas station cheese and shredded chicken that had no flavor. Yum!! The tacos were not horrible not great. In all of this we never got a drink and once we finished our server"the executive chef" came back over and apologized for not getting our drinks because she forgot then handed us our bill so we could pay and leave. We just walked in to try it out! As we were walking in the only 2 employees were walking out to the parking lot??? The TV's were off. No music. One table getting up to grab something for themselves from the bar. One more table with nothing (probably because the employees are in the parking lot) and zero music or sound of any kind. Best tacos hands down! They are a taco truck co. That has recently opened a small taco and drinks shop at the Santan Village in Gilbert AZ and if you want great tacos and a nice cool place to chill for lunch I definitely recommend you stop in and try them .
