New Rito's Location for ME, I came into town for some business but was born and lived in Phoenix area until a few years ago. I am a regular at the 14th Street location whenever I can these days so I was worried. Super cute large restaurant plenty of parking and great location. Food; VERY good, and just as delicious as the original spot. I was pleasantly surprised, the food was fresh and crisp and cooked with the perfects seasonings. Cant wait to go back. Service; Our server was super friendly and outgoing.

A coworker recommended this place. Never heard of it but apparently they have four locations through out the valley. You get chips and salsa when you sit down. We went during happy hour. We tried the mini tacos and a quesadilla. The mini tacos were good, pretty tasty, and cute. The place has a modern look. Nice. Looks like they have an upstairs with a few tables up there. Our server was Jaden (I think that was her name) she was very nice. But honestly we felt rushed. I would try this place again. I really enjoyed their horchata!! It was really good!!

I used to visit The Ritos restaurant in Phoenix whenever I was in town. It just happened to be closed on a Sunday and I ordered my favorite. It is still amazing. It just hits the spot every single time. The green chili is amazing. The rice and beans are some of the best I've ever had. It's a nice, beautiful, spacious location. Service is very friendly and I will continue to visit this place whenever I come to Arizona .

Atmosphere is nice. Restaurant has nice decor and the staff are pleasant. However, the food was not so good. My friend had a shredded chicken enchilada with rice and beans and it was unfortunately not very good. Especially for the price where you are forced to order Al a carte style - not very flexible.. and then gets expensive A taco and enchilada was $20. The salsa was nice - one was a chunky and the other was more like an enchilada sauce - no spice but still nice. I had 2 tacos and they were just protein, cheese and lettuce/tomato. No sauce, sour cream, to make them more palatable.. Margarita came in a small glass (I still do not understand why Margarita are not served in the correct glass.. fill the glass with ice and there's barely 2-3 mouthfuls of your actual margarita! Disappointing.

The size of the entrées was huge, almost too big. The size of the large chunky guacamole was ridiculously small, for the price. The food was basically good, but like many Mexican food restaurants, you feel terrible after you eat a meal here. The tap water is undrinkable. I had forgotten how awful Mesa water is. So bad.

Had lunch today at Ritos Mexican Food for the first time, after seeing it last week. As we walked into the restaurant we were greeted with smiles and helpful servers. We were seated promptly by Luann, and at first I didn't like where she wanted to sit us, so I asked for a window booth. Which I loved because we got to see the beautiful trees outside. After being seated, Luann quickly brought us water, and chips and salsa. She took our drink order and promptly brought them out. I ordered the chicken enchilada, no sides, and my son got the carne asada burrito, no sides. The food was delicious! The chicken had a lot of seasoning to it and I could taste it in every bite. No blan food here! The amount of the serving was enough. If you're in the neighborhood of Mesa Riverview I recommend having lunch or dinner here. If Luann is your server you won't be disappointed. She was amazing! 10/10 for atmosphere, service, and food quality.

Rito's Mexican Food 1st time at this location, good size restaurant with a large area dedicated to the bar. I had the Carna Asada Chimichanga which includes sour cream and guacamole which was a good size portion entrée. Generous amount of meat and deep fried, nice crisp deep fried outer tortilla. Open face Cheese Quesidilla was nice and crispy with a good amount of cheese. Very happy with the food, service and restaurant, I have had many of their burritos from other locations. Good stuff

I have been eating at Rito's, the original on Garfield, forever. That is the place that I will always drive to whenever I can. I am glad that they built this one on Dobson because it's much closer to my home. The food is good, the restaurant is clean, and this staff is very nice. Overall, it makes a great lunch or dinner. My go to is always the green Burritos.

What better way to spend your Friday night but at Rito's happy hour having margaritas and fresh shell tacos! 5/5

Loved the margaritas and customer service! Owner "Char" is a rock star! Loved their beef mini tacos.

I'm of the firm belief that Rito's has one of, if not the best, bean and cheese burritos in AZ.
    Jon H.

I've said it before and I stand by it...the best bean and cheese burrito in AZ! BUT...get it enchilada style with green sauce (my preference at least). I should try other items on the menu, but I'm a creature of habit...and this habit has no flaws :) Service is always done with a smile, the place is always clean, and there's a ton of seating both inside and out. I love this place....I love bean and cheese burritos...if I could rent a bench in here I'd sleep overnight and have one for breakfast.

    Denise J.

Highly recommend this place! Lots of food on one big plate!! Great service! Patio dining! Friendly waitress!

Lots of ice after I removed about a quarter cup of ice and three sips of Margarita.
    Carol U.

Love the food here, but buyer beware...happy hour isn't worth it. Margaritas are $5. I spent $5 on three sips of drink and a cup of ice. If you're paying full price, the margarita is excellent and not filled with $5 of ice...I recommend NOT coming here during Happy Hour.

The light is very dim, but you can see the central bar, the almost decorative stills behind glass in the back, and many booths and seating areas You order your drinks at the bar. The artisanal elixirs are made to order right in front of you at the bar. This means they are quality drinks, but it also means they take slightly longer because they're made with care... they also might cost you a bit money The staff are friendly. We spoke to a couple about the cocktails, the distillery, eating options in the area, etc The drinks are solid. They aren't the heaviest of pours or too strong. Each cocktail has specific drink rate, garnishes, etc that will accompany it The distillery has a prime location, smack dab in the middle of the downtown Mesa. You can find restaurants, bars, shops, and even a place where you can both play pinball and shop for antiques or a spot where you can eat Cronuts while playing Super Mario Kart (Outcast) Some tips: Tell the bartender what you enjoy drinking and let them guide you towards a selection They offer tours on Saturdays (1hr in length) where you can learn more about the distilling process and try samples They have a couple clarified cocktails that were truly unique and refreshing. The chicken tenders were fire!!! What is lacking on this occasion was service. The server that we had was so unattentative. I have never been in a cocktail lounge in my life and had to beg for drinks. Our server would wait until every drinks was made for all of her tables before bringing out drinks. It was ridiculous. She was nice but seemed high. I ended up only having 2 drinks. We would have ordered more but they have 90min max seating and we didn't event get drinks for the first 30min. No exaggeration. Also one of my drinks I had to send back. My apple martini tasted like soap. It was like they did clean the glass after giving a soap bath. No bueno. So they need to get their service to match the vibe of a true cocktails lounge. Yes it is a 70s vibe but doesn't mean the lackadaisical style service. I would come back and try again. The music, the atmosphere and the food was good. They gotta get these cocktails together and service. We ended up walking to nearby competitors and that was money lost for DDG.

If you're looking for free parking, you're going to have a long walk. Outside of that, you'll have to pay for parking in a garage or metered street parking. Ambiance (4/5): Hint hint. Idle Hands is located inside Devil's Hideaway. A true speakeasy shouldn't have signage outside indicating its location. Unfortunately, there's a sign for Idle Hands outside of Devil's Hideaway which takes away the sense of mystery and intrigue that a true speakeasy provides. Outside of this hiccup, it's a cool speakeasy. It's intimate, with 10 or so seats at the bar and about 10 seats in booths facing the bar. There's a projector screen behind the bar that had mystical motion graphics the first time I stopped by (thinking wizards) and Halloween motion graphics the second time (with it being a day before the holiday). There were some other Halloween decorations up. The only area of improvement? The music often doesn't match the vibe. A lot of the music they were playing on my last visit was Irish music that would be fitting for a pub. Service (4/5): I had the same bartender each time. He knows how to make a good drink and is pretty efficient. When you close out, he only gives you the merchant copy. Which is a pet peeve of mine. Let me get that customer copy too. But overall, a good experience. Especially at a college bar. Food (N/A): I've only had drinks both times. Idle Hands actually doesn't have food, but Devil's Hideaway does. And you're allowed to bring food from there into the speakeasy. Drinks (4.5/5): It's pretty surprising to see a speakeasy on a college campus. I was impressed with the creativity of the menu, both in terms of the ingredients used and the fusion of flavors. I've had a different cocktail each time, and they've all been great. My favorite was one served in a box filled with smoke. Talk about a cool presentation! The hallmarks of a solid speakeasy are elevated cocktails, nice ambiance (dimly lit), an intimate space, and mystery/intrigue. While the intrigue is lacking at Idle Hands, and the music can be improved, they hit it out of the park in the other areas. One of my favorite speakeasies I've been to in Phoenix (and surrounding areas). I am, after all, the self-appointed king of speakeasies. The king gives his stamp of approval.

There's the regular loaded fries and wings, salads, and a nice election burgers. We ordered the Philly Salad and the Very Summer Salad with a side order of fries. They make their own ranch, and it is good. I will say they don't seem to skim on salad ingredients either - - the Philly salad was covered with shaved beef, and my berry salad had a lot of chicken and tons of blue cheese. The fries were delicious - - slightly seasoned and crispy. This place is clearly dog friendly. Hubby got a beer & I got Tito's & cranberry juice. Hubby got the wings & onion rings. I got the Create Your Own Burger without tomato. The drinks were good. Hubby loved the wings. The onion rings were good. The burger was excellent! I don't know what they do different, but it was really good. The fries were good too. I'm not sure that we will be back since it's a bit of a haul for us.

It's the kind of restaurant that makes getting dressed up feel exciting and worth it, and I absolutely loved that about the experience. It felt like such a perfect date night spot or place to celebrate something special. The servers were also extremely attentive the entire night. Everyone was friendly, professional, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling overbearing. The service honestly matched the upscale atmosphere perfectly and made the whole experience feel even more polished. And OMG... the food. SO SO SO SO SO GOOD. Like genuinely one of those meals where every single bite makes you pause for a second because it tastes that incredible. I got the chicken orzo along with the lime icebox cake for dessert, and both were absolutely amazingggg. The chicken orzo was phenomenal. The lemon flavor throughout the orzo was bright, fresh, and flavorful without being overpowering, and the tomatoes were the PERFECT addition because they balanced everything so well and added a little sweetness and freshness to the dish. But the chicken... wow. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while still being super juicy and tender inside, which is honestly hard to do. Every component of the dish worked together perfectly. Magnificent is genuinely the best word for it. And the lime icebox cake was the perfect ending to the meal, refreshing, creamy, flavorful, and not too heavy after dinner. Honestly, I'm sitting here craving the food again just looking back at the pictures I took. This is definitely one of those restaurants that sticks in your mind long after you leave.

The restaurant itself is very cute and clearly designed for photos, which matches what I saw on their Instagram. Service overall was fantastic. The food, however, was just okay. I ordered the burrata and fig plate and was told they'd replace the bread with apple slices. I received five very small slices of apple, and when the plate was set down the waitress said she'd get more if needed. I later noticed I was charged $2 for an additional five slices, which together didn't even amount to half an apple. Ironically, the bread that comes with the dish would have been far more substantial. The burrata was fine, but nothing memorable. My friend ordered the chicken and brussels sprouts and didn't even finish it before having the plate taken away. The flourless almond cake was the star, a bit salty on its own, but with the ice cream and whipped cream it was a delightful combo which were the highlight. Overall, this is a great spot for cocktails, ambiance, and photos, but the food is fairly mediocre compared to the setting.
