Drove our Adult son and his friend to a show at The Nile Theater and stopped in at Margaritas's Covina Grille. Lised took care of us. Immediately greeted us and told us it qas open seating and we could pick anywhere we liked and she would be right with us. She brought iced water right away and menus. The place is intimate and decorate with lots of Original Art Work by a local artist. Colorful, Fun and very clean. We ordered the Rolled Potato tacos. 5 come with an order and topped with cheese, sour cream, guacamole and jalapeño's. We also had their delicious chips and salsa. Very tasty salsa and both the chips and salsa tasted homemade and extremely fresh. They also had a handful of beers on tap, so we ordered a Pacifico with our meal. Lised was great, super attentive, personable and so friendly. Moderately priced and the food was delicious. Looking forward to trying them again real soon.

Awesome modern Mexican cuisine. Lovely atmosphere and ambiance, and delicious food. Service staff is also outstanding.

Service was simply terrible. I typically expect decent service at the bar. We were barely glanced at. Somehow bartender can salt a margarita rim but not a beer glass. And how is this queso?! I'm not a connoisseur but this looks like porridge to me. Do not recommend.

A vast selection of appetizers like nachos, papas frito, stuffed quesadillas, camarones, toritos and more. In their Platos de Mi Abuela section, their extensive food does justice to the Mexican Cuisine with the likes of Chile Relleno de Parilla, Fajitas, Chile Verde, or Enchilada de Camaron, maybe even just their rice, Refried Beans, Borracho Beans, or Black Beans. Yet my fave stands out not just for simplicity, but an incredible, jaw dropping and mouthwatering carne asada soft tacos! Although their 'La Casa' margarita may be slightly watered, the 'El Original' is not - and very good. We've had the opportunity to visit Margaritas a few times, and it never lets us down. This place with its inconspicuous, run-down look, good old-fashioned bar and terrific misted patio seating is a great place for an eat stop in downtown Mesa. Great place for a Margarita, ice cold beer and, of course, some tacos.

You real life stepping into a little slice of rocky point or Cabo when you come in vibe is chill music is Hispanic and colors are vibrant. I had been here once before and shared a carne asada/grilled shrimp burrito with a friend and it was so good I told my man we came a different time and I'll say it slapped just as hard. So fresh so yummy and like not so heavy as chain Mexican spots. My man got a margarita and he really like it and margs are his go to drink so you're gonna get a good one here! Idk what people are talking about flavor and bugs it's super clean here it's not fancy but it's clean for sure. Everything is so fresh for example the salsa they brought me was warm like they just blended it for me and made it fresh!

Great service immediately greeted friendly and great atmosphere. Wright along the light rail so it's so convenient if you're in downtown Mesa. And it has a fun Mexican vibe, and really nice patio. The food smelt, amazing, along with their fun margarita list.

I've been DYING to try this place because I go to 12 West often. This place is next door and it looks so good. I thought for sure I could treat my roommate to dinner on a Saturday night before Mother's Day. She is NOT a mom but she's 74 and has taken such amazing care of me and she loves Mexican food so I wanted to treat her. I made a reservation through their WEBSITE. I thought to invite my good friend who IS a mom, so I called to ask if we could change the reservations from 2 to 3 people. Believe me, I know this is a tall order the night before Mother's Day but their website was so available for reservations I thought I hit the jackpot and it wouldn't be an issue. Everytime I go past the restaurant it isn't busy anyways.... When I called, a young and gentleman answered.... However he was super confused about my reservation. Apparently the restaurant was booked for a wedding. I asked if I could speak to the manager because this young man clearly had no idea why there would be reservations offered through their website when the restaurant was closed. He 'accidentally' hung up on me once. I called back... asked to speak to the manager. The manager got on the phone. Super unfriendly. I expressed my disappointment and he didn't seem to care, insisted the notice about the wedding was on the website and hung up on me before I could finish what I was saying..... super disappointing. Nowhere on the website did it mention the restaurant was closed. I even pulled it up and I checked again and didn't see anything about a closure. . The manager was incredibly rude and the young gentleman who answered the phone should not be in customer service. 0/10 will never ever try this place. I suggest you look elsewhere in Mesa for quality service and food because there are so many wonderful family owned businesses in the area.

I'll start with the good--I've been here before and ordered the mango margarita and shrimp tacos. Both were good. It's colorful with colorful artwork and a nice looking bar. The not so good: every time I have been here, the service has not been good. In fact, one time I stood there waiting to be seated for five minutes, even though there was nobody else in the restaurant and the server kept walking by me without saying a word--I ended up leaving and walking down the street to another restaurant. Today we were seated right away, but after we got our food, he didn't come back once to see if we needed anything--which I did. He never came back so I never got the salt I needed. My friend and I both got the special of the day, the rolled tacos. She got the chicken and I got the beef and then we shared. We both thought the chicken was okay, but neither of us likes the beef rolled tacos. The ends of the rolled tacos were super dry and chewy with no meat in them, so my friend had a little pile of "taquito ends" on her plate. Chips with a cup of salsa is $7.00. They honestly have a fantastic margarita, and I have liked the shrimp tacos, so if somebody else wanted to come here I would most likely tag along. But I'm not likely to ever choose it on my own.

If you want a fun place to get some amazing Mexican food look no further. This place has everything from burritos to tacos to big plates a really fun atmosphere where you can enjoy a really cool margarita or just a Mexican Coke. The servers are extremely friendly and always good at offering the best recommendations. I know it's tempting to always go to your local food truck around the corner, but give this place a look because you'll be getting an authentic Mexican food experience.

So some co-works and I stop here last night (Friday) after our schools graduation. The service was slow, however, the waitress did apologize for the long wait and explained why (she was the only waitress working) we ordered and our drinks came. The margaritas are excellent and well liquored. The food was excellent, my only concern was, no salsa was offered at all. We sat outside which made it nice. I'll be coming back as it's only 15 minutes from work.

This restaurant has such a lively vibe, they have some amazing art hanging and scrubbing is so nice and colorful! All four of us really enjoyed our food! I would recommend trying this Mexican restaurant or if your in downtown Mesa!! We got: Chile Relleno stuffed with shrimp with a side of beans and rice. 5 rolled chicken tacos And the carne asada fries Jalapeño Margarita!! Defiantly a must try!

The food was the best Mexican food I've had in the 18 years I've lived in Arizona! And it was my first time there. Great service too!

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.

The parking lot outside was parking so we thought we may have to wait, but inside was not busy yet and we were seated immediately. I ordered the smoked chicken enchilada as I saw it was a Yelp favorite and it was delicious. I ended up taking half of it home since we all filled up on chips and salsa before our meal. This restaurant is decorated so cutely. I love how there is a Baja influence with all the surf boards but also southwest appeal. There is plenty of seating and tables for big groups. Even with other people yapping around us, the noise level was perfect to enjoy company. 10/10 would recommend.

Everything tasted amazing and was served fresh and in a timely manner. We will most certainly be back (and you should visit, too!)!
