A little better than Taco Bell but not a place I would go to on a regular basis. This location has messy restrooms and no paper towels. The workers are nice and the food comes out pretty fast. They have good breakfast burritos, carne guisada, refried beans, and shredded beef tacos. I don't care for their rice or whole beans they taste bland. read more

Despite the previous Yelp reviews, I was pretty happy with this establishment. The staff was friendly, food came out promptly, the food was fresh, and the margaritas weren't as watered down as I had expected (plus they were cheap during happy hour, 4-7pm). My only complaint is that a fair amount of the chicken that came with my 1lb fajita was burned to the point where it wasn't palatable. read more

I drove through and ordered an egg, potato, and carne guisada taco. There was some confusion on the other end, then the drive-thru gal informed that they couldn't do that, but they could give me a carne guisada taco with egg and potato. I am not making this up. I ordered Uber eats from this restaurant at 650 am. My food was to be delivered at 750 am. At 745am I canceled to order because it was still being prepared and the nursing staff would not be able to eat it for 2 hours now. Taco Cabana charged me anyway. $32 and for nothing. I've been there before the staff are lazy, arriving late for work is their normal routine. If you want good Mexican food. Go to Mary's it's close and the food is way better. read more

UPDATED & UPGRADED: Taco Cabanas have added something wonderful! Get Bandera style added to anything you order and you get a generous helping of guacamole, sour cream AND Pico de Gallo ON EACH ITEM! Momma is happy now!!! PREVIOUSLY: They would get another star if they would give me what I ask for! Twice I ordered here, about a month apart when in Boerne on business. I like the street tacos and the crispy tacos so always order those. I like pico de gallo on it but I want them to put it on while making the tacos so I can eat them and go. Besides, it saves on more trash from the containers they put them in. I go through 6 of those little cups for 3 tacos! Thats stupid. The newer Taco Cabana out at Boerne Stage Rd does that for me without arguement and without the cashier having to take it back to add pico de gallo...whats the problem?! Evidently the folks who make them have hissy fits at the Boerne store. Not eating there again just because of that bad attitude. Too many other cabanas, to put up with that. read more

This is the worst Taco Cabana of them all! The orders are never right and the employees are always rude. Plus, they no longer sell tortilla soup... I have complained well over 5 times thru email, phone and now twitter. Please put accurate business hours on your account here on yelp. It says you close at 9:30 but the employee said that you closed at 9. I sat on the parking lot to find a place to eat and saw 5 cars go through the drive thru, you might want to stay open until 9:30 since the business is there. read more

I don't know what to say, but you can skip this location in Boerne, Texas. Twice this summer we have stopped in for breakfast tacos and ended up waiting over 25 minutes for 4 taco. I understand places can get busy, but they had plenty of staff wondering around and only one girl working the inside line. The tacos were also average at best. read more

They have done away with the soft chicken taco AGAIN!!!!!! Had our order all placed until we said soft chicken and they said they no longer carry it. Walked out on the spot. My wife used to order ground beef tacos, but they got so greasy she switched to soft chicken...now there is nothing to eat. This taco cabana is probably the best I've been to. I'm a truck driver in and out of the state and my favorite place to eat is TC. EVERY TIME i come here I'm greeted by the manager ruben or his son who makes sure my order is good to go and gives me really good customer service. My food is always hot & fresh. read more

Was looking forward to this stop after a long road trip. Walked in and the menu board was totally black. I asked where the menu was and the employee looked surprised. Seriously, how can you work there and miss that? It's huge! Employee went to reboot the computer but I'm enough of a geek that I could tell this wasn't going to work. He said it would be a minute as I am watching what appears to be a computer issue. I did not have time to wait for them to keep fooling with it as I was already running late. So we just moved here and I wanted to try Taco Cabana because I had seen the pink restaraunts all over. The food was "meh" at best. Crunchy tacos served in an individual paper tray were literally sitting in a pool of orange grease (yuck). The enchiladas were mediocre, guacamole was good. But my least favorite part was the service! The lady at the register was RUDE! I asked what came with an item, since I had never eaten here, and she literally huffed and rolled her eyes then provided a short non-answer. My kids have been raised properly to say please and thank you, and even to the kids she barely acknowledged their talking to her or politely requesting their order. Needless to say, we WILL NOT stop there again. I prefer Taco Bell over this place. read more

Stopped by on the way to back to San Antonio today. Definitely not the best TC experience I've ever had. I went to stand in line and waited for about 5 minutes to be greeted. The people behind the counter looked right at me. Finally, after 5 minutes, someone said they'd be right with me. It took another minute until someone actually got to me. Service just was not customer-focused or anything I'm used to from Taco Cabana. The women's and men's bathrooms are not clearly marked.... which caused a special needs employee to go into the ladies' room while my daughter and I were using the facilities... awkward. Finally, as I was refilling my drink before leaving I noticed black mold on the clear plastic cover of the ice dispenser. I do wish there were better options for Mexican food in this town. TC is so hit or miss, mostly miss. Today ordered thru drive thru--2 cheese enchilada plate with rice x 2 (no beans) plus two "flame-grilled USDA Choice beef fajita tacos with grilled peppers & onions" on the side. Just be aware the pictured food on Taco Cabana's website in no way resembles what you get. Today the tortillas in the enchiladas were tough and stale, tasting like they were from yesterday. The rice was even worse, like it was yesterday's that had been reheated. It was glued together in clumps and appeared to be from the bottom of the pot that's been sitting for awhile. It was yuck. And the tacos were nothing like on their website. One teensy tiny piece of green pepper on a taco--really? And the meat was like the meat on their street tacos--chopped up in small chunks. Onions and the little bit of peppers on the other taco were more steamed than grilled. Tried to doctor them up w/a little guac & salsa. Also got guacamole on the side & a drink. The diet Dr Pepper was cold and quite tasty. A waste of $22.25. Food went in the trash after a few bites. read more

Honestly, if you are going to come to this Taco Cabana simply for the breakfast tacos, you have an 80% chance of having an ...okay, experience. Any order more complicated than that and you will most likely be highly disappointed. I don't like giving bad reviews, but I have had too many awful experiences at this place to ignore it. I have finally decided to stop going here, which is disappointing because its fast and cheap. (I will give them that, its always fast and cheap). I ordered two items on the menu, a Chicken Fajita Quesidilla and the 1/2 pound Chicken Fajita meal for 2-3 people in the drive through. The guy took my cash, charged me for both, and then as I was driving away (STUPIDLY, I might add, I should realize by now that you always, always , always check your order before you drive off) , I realized I didn't have my drink. I had to turn around and walk inside, then wait a good ten minutes before they would even acknowledge me. It was when I finally was able to get some attention from a staff member that I realized the guy hadn't even given me a receipt. So, great. No proof. Thankfully the guy, while rolling his eyes, still gave me my drink. I rushed out after this, in a time crunch and drove to my house which was , at the very least, fifteen minutes away. It wasn't until I finally unpacked the bag they gave me that I realized they had left out the quesidilla as well. I was furious. That was eight dollars I believe, perhaps even nine. They recently changed the containers to be smaller and I had though nothing of the bag they gave me. So I guess I have to accept some fault. Like I said before, ALWAYS check your order people! I had an unhappy cousin on my hands, but thankfully I wasn't very hungry and I let him have my share of the chicken fajitas. Only, when we opened up the tortillas, all of them had one half fluffy while the other half was dried out and hard. The toppings (sour cream, pico, gaucamole, lettuce) looked as if they had shaken the container before handing it to me. I didn't drive like a maniac , so I know it wasn't me. I did call and in their defense, they offered to make the Quesidilla again and have me pick it up. That is why it is 2 stars and not one. Still, I live too far away for that. I just never came and picked it up. Especially when he seemed to not believe me because I admitted they hadn't given me a receipt and I paid cash. I am done. I am not going there. Ordered a dozen breakfast tacos at 6:45-ish this morning, set pick up for 7:35 to add in traffic just in case to make sure tacos were ready. In addition to the staff being very short and avoiding eye contact, they seemed annoyed with the fact that I arrived early (at about 7:20) to check and see how my order was. Everytime I order the chicken fajitas i ask for corn tortillas and in response they ask me if I want the fajitas to be corn tortillas, as if I only want the extra tortillas to be corn, which is the dumbest question ever. And then to top it off the last 3 times I've been and done this I haven't received ANY corn tortillas. The people working are never rude and actually generally pleasant which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 but this is pretty ridiculous. Someone is being incredibly lazy there not to acknowledge an order with corn tortillas which is especially annoying when you have a gluten intolerance. I just went to the taco cabana in Leon springs and wasn't asked that silly question after requesting corn tortillas and received both the fajitas in corn and the extra tortillas as corn. I hate to be so negative but I'd really like this easily fixable issue to be resolved. Thanks! read more

A quesadilla we ordered for our son was missing from the bags and the three steak tacos I ordered "bandera style" were so cold, it was as if the meat was pulled from the refrigerator and allowed to warm to room temperature on the drive home--a ten minute drive home with tacos wrapped in foil. read more

There is nothing better than a brisket taco and you can't get them anywhere but Texas! These tacos would go over great in TN but we haven't got anything like this there. I've been visiting for only a few days and have eaten here twice so far. I had the brisket taco plate with double beans instead of rice and the next time was a quick drive through snack of a couple of brisket tacos with a side of guacamole and added cheese. I will never be able to get enough of these - brisket tacos. They need to be everywhere! The two times I went so far, the drive-through people were really nice. It would be better if they had actual freshly brewed iced tea because I don't like sweet tea and they obviously are not good about which machine they use, as my unsweetened tea was pretty darned fakey-sweet, but I'll take a Coke if I can live on brisket tacos any day! read more

Worst Taco Cabana I have ever been to. Food just didn't taste right. Salsa bar didn't seem fresh. The rice wasn't cooked all the way and the black beans were horrible! We order the fajita meal and the toppings it came with just looked so sad and he lettuce was wilted. The onions for the fajitas were over cooked and looked gross.
