Man. If I could curse on here, I would lite this place up! The service was awful. The food was even worse, and I've had bad before, but this place. There are no words. I'm still hungry. The only good thing on the table was the free chips and salsa. The food looked appetizing when it came out. Sadly, it was not. The taco was cold. The Chile Relleno was so soggy I almost vomited all over my plate. My beef enchilada had zero beef in it! It was just gross!!!! Never again. Never.

Spanish is in my blood, so having a very picky palate for Mexican cuisine makes this place a favorite as I get exactly what I want. I choose those very unique items that don't appear at most standard Mexican restaurants. Nopales, lengua, pierna de puerco, and Menudo. The tortillas are fresh and perfectly made. The service is always friendly and when I do want a drink they offer some the best drinks. I especially like the Chimoy Margarita.

ordered cheesecake to go and this is what I got. THE MOLD.

Came in for a to go order and got cheesecake. when I opened it there is MOLD and FUZZ. 0 stars

I had the tamale plate and it came with 4 nachos. The nachos had beef, chicken, beans and something else topped with cheese. The food was good but not amazing. The lunch prices and food is a great value. The prices are very reasonable. The salsa was very mild and had a strong taste of what appeared to be garlic. My daughter liked her chicken fajitas and felt the borracho beans had good flavor.

    Impulse walking to this place.

There's rarely Bern a restaurant I have experienced that cared this little about the flavor, ambience, service and the food. We popped in on a whim and right off the bat we had a bad feeling. Smack on the middle of lunch hour there were maybe 5 people there including the two of us. Which we felt odd but we went with it hey at least we won't have to wait so long. Not the case. The table we sat at looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. The menu was sticky to the point we used napkins to open it. The waitress couldn't care less whether we were there or not and made it obvious she didn't want to be there and made sure her actions showed as much. Chips and salsa were brought out. Chips were low quality out of a bag but hey I m not picky. The salsa kid you not was pace picante. Now I don't dislike pace but seriously to go to a Mexican restaurant run by Mexicans be served that is pretty much an insult to Mexican food. We asked for any other salsas and the waitress acted like we insisted her. Snorted to show her displeasure and brought us two other ones. Which were apparently made in House now that's what we want when we go to a Mexican restaurant. Too bad one was too bland and little to no flavor and the other was just spicy with no real flavor. On to our entrees. I ordered a chimichanga plate and a beef burrito. My wife ordered chicken with creme sauce. The food across the board was bland. The chicken was under cooked, the chimichanga was fried well but the steak was very low quality, and bland as all gets. The beef picadillo in the burrito tasted wayyyy too fatty and againhad next to no seasoning. I rarely add salt to my food simply because I have a very forgiving pallate. But it was salt on Everything multiple times. To top it off I bit in to a small pebble in my beans on the first bite. We specifically asked in Spanish and English if the beans had pork in them. Neither one of us eat pork. Now we understand and have no problem with the fact that many restaurants can't accommodate us and that's totally fine we usually go with charro beans instead of refried beans or go with extra rice no beans. The waitress went back to the kitchen and came back saying there's no pork in The beans. Guess what were beans made with? Bacon. When I pointed it out to the waitress she simply shrugged and walked away leaving us in disbelief at the lack of professionalism. We truly were shocked at her apathy. She never refilled out drinks put the plates down without looking at us and huffed away. We never got the limes we asked for and never got the jalapenos. Even tho we reminded her twice. For the most part she was on her phone. When I spoke to the manager simply to point out that the waitress is bad for business he couldn't care less. Even tho I started with telling him that I am not looking for free food and won't accept a comp. He simply said oh ok and started looking around as if it was some enormous chore him having to talk to me. It's rare that I complain about food in fact I don't leave a bad review unless I've tried a place at least twice and usually 3 times but these guys are there to collect a paycheck and couldn't care less about customers or hospitality. They're in the wrong business. The owner whom I didn't see should start making changes else these guys will run his place in to the ground seems it's halfway there already.

Reviews say that the line is long and sometimes they run out. I am not sure if everyone was watching the parade I got lucky. There was not even a wait time. Everyone was so friendly! I took my order enjoyed looking at it and comparing it to the size of my head lol. Then I went asking how can I heat it up. I wanted it for Father's Day my dad loves cinnamon rolls. Turned out the one given to me is heated and the frosting makes it not good to be reheated. They did not hesitate to grab another one and give it to me. I offered to pay for it.... Nope! You take it and enjoy! I didn't touch the other one and I tried to give it back. Nope! Both are yours! There was a customer an older man I gave it to him. They didn't even show any sign of annoyance from this whole event. I got nothing but smiles and welcomes! I heated it yesterday as suggested. The chef is very smart the way she rolls it. You would imagine a doughy taste in the middle from how huge it is. All I can say it is perfection! Each layer of it tasted better than the other! If you are a cinnamon lover you can even use it as a birthday cake this is how big it is for only $10

I guess the only surprise I had was being asked if I wanted to heat the roll to eat it now. I figured they would all be fresh at open, but who knows. They aren't cheap, but they are massive and worth the $$. If I hadn't been traveling, I'd have taken some of that gorgeous looking sourdough loaf off their hands as well.

There was a line when I walked in--always a good sign. Most of the crowd was older folks and what looked like regulars just hanging out and enjoying breakfast. Not very welcoming but not a big dealbreaker. I honestly wasn't that hungry, which was kind of bad timing because the breakfast menu looked really good. Walking to my table and seeing everyone else's food definitely made me feel like I picked the wrong day not to be starving. I ended up just getting a caramel macchiato, and my niece and I shared a cinnamon roll. The baked goods seemed homemade, which is always nice. The macchiato was alright, and the cinnamon roll was pretty good. I'd come back for sure--just next time when I'm actually hungry enough to try a full breakfast.

I would not have been able to find it off the main street. It's nothing fancy in appearance, but it was clean and the staff was nice. We did in line to order. It has that old time, family appeal kind of restaurant. I don't know how else to explain this other than it's food that your southern grandma would make for you. It had all the flavor and all the heart cooked right into it. It's self serve drinks and silverware, etc. I love that they have different size portions of meals. There are so many things to choose from. I normally take a million photos. I apologize because I was so into my visit that I didn't get any except photos of my family. I can tell you we started with fried mushrooms and they were incredible. They were hot and battered perfectly. Add Ranch and I was in heaven. They served it with gravy also-which is a must. Do you ever look back at your visit and wish you had eaten more of something? That's me with the mushrooms, but I was trying to be lady like so I only ate a few. I got chopped beef sirloin that was smothered in onions and brown gravy & fried okra and they serve it with this muffin like roll. It was all so good. The quality of the meat was great and that deep brown gravy compliments the entire dish....grilled onions....oh man...take me back! Let me just tell you my little southern heart was in heaven. Their onion rings are amazing also. The chicken fried steak was great. I mean....i had to take bites of my son's plate also. I don't see how you could go wrong here. I love that you go grab your food and go sit yourself down. This place stayed hopping but they were on their game and had the food out so tables were turning quickly. I didn't see anybody ever waiting to sit. This is just an all in all great place to eat. I wish it wasn't so far away from me, but I will definitely make an effort to be back.

The menu is on the wall and ordering at the counter. There are yummy looking pies in the case. We were happy to see liver and onions with 3 sides. We got drinks and my unsweet tea was nicely brewed, which in Texas is expected. Counter staff was friendly and service was quick. The environs are in serious need of an upgrade, which I doubt will happen to keep the prices low. As it is our shared meal and two drinks was about $25.
