Stopped by for a quick lunch, having seen this spot and wanted to try it. Jack was at the register when I came in. He was pleasant and helped me decide what to get as I had not tried anything and asked for suggestions. I decided on a small nacho and two hard shell tacos. I ordered a half and half tea to go along with my meal. Cost for the whole meal was 11.13 I didn't hear my number being called and Trevon so was kind to bring my food to my table. While sitting at the table in the corner, I could smell cigarette smoke and not sure where it's coming from. Perhaps from the wall needing some work. The food was mediocre at best. I enjoy Taco Bell much more than Taco Casa. Cool, throwback sign design though!

There's no secret! I love taco casa!!! I came here for lunch after a massage and the food hit the spot! My food was hot & fresh. The service was quite friendly too! The dining room is comfortable with TVs and a nice little playlist going. I'm ready to go back to Taco Casa!!! I really enjoyed this visit. Yay!

I was one of Taco Casa's first customers in Tuscaloosa 51 years ago! Today, I was charged $2.80 for a cup of ice to help take a pill with. NOT GOOD...PLUS, I GOT HASSLED ABOUT IT

If you are ever nearby the Lakeshore parkway area, please stop at Taco Casa. This Taco restaurant has been my favorite "comfort food" restaurant since my sons was in high school in this area. The tacos are delicious. The Taco Salad never disappoint my taste buds and the Beefy nachos with Jalapeño peppers fit the appetite for spicy food. The customer service is very good and on point for all my visits. The ambiance is calm and friendly atmosphere to enjoy meals during anytime of the day.

It has been a while but I decided to stop by and order the Beef Chimalupa (Taco Salad). The line to the drive-thru was long but I patiently waited and placed my order and it was ready when I made it to the window. This salad is very filling with generous amounts of meat, beans, and cheese. Not sure if I was hungry but I ended up eating the flour tortilla bowl. I rarely eat the tortilla bowl, glad I did because it was good and fresh. I have tried other things on the menu in the past and must say, when I decide to stop by again, I am sticking with the Beef Chimalupa.

The tacos were packed with flavor, especially the beefbit was juicy and well seasoned. The tortillas were fresh and slightly toasted, which added a nice texture. I just wish the portion was a little bigger for the price. Service was friendly but a bit slow during peak hours. The place had a fun, casual vibe, great for a quick bite.

Taco Casa has a signature taste... either you love it or hate it. I love it because doesn't taste like fast food tacos...it taste like homemade tacos away from home. This is not authentic Mexican by far, but if you missed taco night at home or are just too tired to cook... go by Taco Casa. I had a taco, soft taco and a beefy nacho with peppers on the side. So yummy! This place is always clean and the staff is friendly. Right now the dining room is 50% open... with every other table being available. My only complaint is that I wish they'd offer more combos... at least one with tacos and a soda. Also, they have Pepsi products... I'm a Coca cola gal!

Before I start, huge shout out to John, manager of the Taco Casa in Birmingham and his entire crew!! He's been so courteous and always delivers when I call to place an order of frozen burritos! So for those of you who don't know or aren't in the know, Taco Casa is a Tuscaloosa/T-Town thing. You just have to either love it or don't. If you love it and crave it like I do, then you KNOW how serious this place is. It's not just nostalgia, it's seriously just good American-Mexican fast food. An institution for people who live and grew up in Tuscaloosa, and a place for those of us who don't live there to salivate and plan our next trip to grab some.

I'm not sure why we have never been here before. We saw a video on Facebook describing Alabama's best fast food. We immediately thought let's check it out! It's so affordable. We got two combos and a taco burger for about $20. It's a step above Taco Bell but not quite the same quality you'd get at a sit down place, more so the quality of a Moe's or Chipotle. The Taco Burger hits. It's a great drunk food type category. I ordered mine sober and it was still a great option. It is like if the McChicken had taco toppings. I like that eAch item can be ordered by hotness. We ordered everything hot but could have had it much hotter. I loved that you could tell the vegetables used, like the tomatoes atop the rice and beans. The enchilada was so good and we used the cheese sauce to dip chips in afterward. Highly recommend a combo with an enchilada. We felt like we had so much food. My partner has celiac disease so we are glad to see that much of the menu has corn tortillas and othe GF options

This is the best fast food Mexican hands down!! I wish there were more locations in the Birmingham area. I lived in Tuscaloosa for about 10 years and thet have multiple locations there. I now have about a 20 minute drive to get there however very worth it. I love the chicken enchilada and the frijoles with cheese. If you haven't been I highly recommend going.

Fast friendly service, genuine mexican cuisine, spelled sopapilla wrong on the menu. Great Beefy Queso Nachos.

They have the best crunchy chicken tacos! Better than any Mexican restaurant in town.

Reminds me of tacos of my youth ... Never mind college. Always a treat when my travels take me by there at meal time.

Love the food, but the staff needs to work on customer interaction and friendliness. Absolutely no personality by the staff.

I've been to El Barrio several times now--once with my cousin, another time with my dad, and most…read morerecently with my husband--and every single time I've loved it! The jalapeño cornbread with the butter is probably one of my favorite things on the menu. Oh my goodness, it is SO good! I'm pretty sure I've even placed a to-go order before just because I wanted the jalapeño cornbread . I also love the potato tortillas they have as an appetizer. They are really, really good, and the birria tacos are great as well. I can't remember exactly what my dad ordered when we went together, but I do remember that he loved his food too. I've had a great experience every time I've been, and it's definitely a place I would recommend!

This is a great spot for dinner, especially if you're planning to enjoy the nightlife afterward. I…read moredo wish they stayed open a little later given the location, but it still works well as a place to grab a meal before heading to nearby bars. I haven't tried an entrée yet because my group usually orders a few dips to share, and they've always been a hit. That said, the dishes I've seen at other tables have looked delicious. The outdoor patio is one of my favorite features--it's a great place for people-watching, enjoying the atmosphere, and having a daytime drink. The service has been solid on every visit. Nothing extraordinary, but friendly, efficient, and with no complaints. Overall, it's a place I'd happily come back to.
