We've been looking for good Birria tacos for quite some time. So when we saw a far north FW restaurant that was getting rave Yelp reviews, we knew where we had to go. Right away when you walk inside you fell like you're at someone's family gathering. The decor is super cool but also a great place for families. Loved that it appears to be a family business! The bar area is separate from ordering the food. My wife went to the bar to order our margaritas while I ordered our food. So there's no chips and salsa on the menu that I could find. They also don't offer guacamole, which is a bummer. When I asked about chips and salsa, the girl said we don't have salsa with the chips so you can use the containers of salsa. That was kind of odd. Hard to just keep squeezing hot sauce onto each chip. However, the chips were amazing. They also didn't bring the chips out first or let us know. I ordered the nachos and my wife wanted the Birria tacos. The tacos don't come with sides so we ordered the beans and rice as sides. My nachos were really really good! The chips didn't get soggy and lots of steak portion , along with the cheese and everything else. My wife absolutely loved the Birria tacos. The dipping sauce was tasty and made a big mess, which is always a good sign. The beans and rice were good but not great. A little more seasoning and they both were just warm, not hot. We'll definitely be back to try more!

Unexpected find on an expected day. Driving around and decided to stop in and check it out. So glad I did. The atmosphere was very inviting. A very cute taco place with a bar. It seems like it could be a lively place. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was quite good. I originally came in for tacos but the special of the day was a Mexican hot dog and it looked so good and tasty that I had to order it. No regrets whatsoever. I also ordered one taco de tripa and got it extra crispy. Good stuff. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Somehow, we lived around the corner from Taco Con for almost five years and never tried it. Our ridiculous loss because this place is BOMB. We tend to come on Saturdays or Sundays because my other half loves Menudo and claims that it's world class here. I've tried the Burria and taco salad and both were deelish. Taco Chon is family-run, and the sincere care for food and service shows in every freshly made-to-order delivery we have enjoyed here. My only nitpick is that "for here" orders are given in styrofoam "to go" containers. I would enjoy the eating experience more and think less about eco-impact if they served on dishes. Menudo is the only item that's served in a reusable dish. Otherwise, I highly recommend Taco Chon. Expect a long line on Saturday and Sunday!

Upon arriving in Fort Worth - this is the first place my family wanted to take me. It was an amazing Torta Sandwich. Really great service and the cost was very reasonable for the amount of food you get. Make sure you try the Horchata- oh so good!

Delicious and cheap!!!! Great pricing and good foooooood. This place used to be inside ducky's i think then they branched out, good for them, deserve all the praise, service is good. You order at the front so kinda self served, they got a bar as well so u can order drinks from there and have a good time with your food. The decorations inside is beautiful great photo op

SO DELICIOUS!! We came here tonight for my sons birthday. They were all so kind and helpful. They made us a huge platter of tacos for our party. The elote was delicious. I loved the vegetarian options- she gave me several choices. The best part of our meal was the tortillas- they were so delicious and clearly homemade. The margaritas could have been a bit stronger- but that's personal preference. Such a cute place! We will be back!!

This is one of our favorite local spots for Taco's, they have Chicarron, Lengua, Tripe and many more on a daily basis. The tortas are all good and great for a filling lunch, recently expanded again to open up space next door and added bar area. Price is reasonable and the salsa comes in 3 varieties, green being my go to be careful here. What's not to live good food friendly folks only downside is the parking it's in a crowded strip mall so that can be somewhat challenging getting in and out. So if you haven't been give them a go when in the area.

Found this place on Yelp! Ngl, it was the Birria tacos that attracted me here. First time I went they didn't have any because it wasn't a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. (Those are the days they have Birria) they also have menudo on the weekends as well. Their horchata is soooooo goood. Today I came on a Saturday and I came for the delicious Birria this time. It tasted great, and they're not stingy with their meats on the tacos. I love that they have spicy habanero salsa, along with two other mild and medium salsas. The staff here is very nice and sweet, from the servers/cashiers to the cooks behind them. Everyone was really nice here. I always usually get a fruit punch jarritos when I eat my tacos, glad they have that option and many other flavors. They also have a bar in here with a pretty wide selection of tequilas. Definitely would recommend this place! And definitely will be back for sure!

Was referred to try this place out from a stranger. He talked highly of their food and he was right! I tried their Birria tacos and they were bomb! They put a lot of meat, flavor was rich and juicy. The radish and onions, cilantro was fresh and crisp and ohhh the consume that you dip the taco into was flavorful. I definitely will be back again to try other things on their menu. The price was reasonable for the quality and they have good Agua Fresca too! Place was clean and roomy.

Taco Chon is the Bomb.com. This super friendly family started this as their first restaurant (and hopefully many more to come...) It's rare to find a taco joint that has ALL the key staples from your Chorizo and barbacoa to lengua, tripa and chicharron. On top of that, they are executed to amazing, and not overly greasy, deliciousness. Feel like something a bit lighter than tacos or tortas? Their Albondigas packs a flavor punch and warms the soul. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. Family owned and delicious! We got a pastor and and asada taco, an asada torta and a barbacoa nachos. The chips for the nachos are homemade. They hold all the ingredients perfectly! The torta bread was homemade too. Wash it down with a large orchatra or a Mexican Coke. We will be back Taco Chon! read more

We tried tonight for taco Tuesday and I'm so excited to have our new go-to taco spot. These are tacos exactly like you want them: good tortilla, flavorful meat, onions and cilantro. We tried pastor, asada and carnitas. Carnitas ended up being our fave! Husband loved the asada nachos- the homemade chips are legit. Interior is clean and modern. I can't believe I haven't been in here before. We will be back for sure. Probably next Tuesday :-) read more

Best taco joint in around! I've been searching all around Ft. Worth for somewhere with flavorful meat and salsas that give your taco just the right kick. If you like So Cal style tacos this is your place. They even serve ice cold cerveza now too! If your a Menudo fan then you have to try theirs. Great flavor and not oily. If you have been searching like I have or just a Taco Junkie come get your fix! read more

Taco Chon always hits the spot! We've been here many times. They're always so kind! Birria tacos are a little too pricey imo, but still very tasty. We love how they make the corn as well. Menudo- by far the best I've had around the area. Not greasy, good flavor, portion size was good, the meat was good -not over cooked! The bread was just perfect with the right amount of butter on it. I hate soggy bread smothered in butter and the best part, no after flavor left in your mouth! read more

So good. If I could leave that review without any additional words, I would...but Yelp keeps comparing me to other elites so, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ This place was awesome. The corn was the bomb, reminding me of good times in LA. The tripa tacos were my fave, with hubs getting 4 of asada, carnitas, and barbacoa. Nothing was a miss, except that they didn't have beer but it looks like they have a license in the works. It's a small place so I imagine it gets busy. read more

Amazing tacos best in the watauga area for sure! The place is always clean and very nice and modern Mexican style decor. Good service and great prices! The hours are a little funny and sometimes they're just flat out closed for no real reason but if you happen to catch them open and operating the food is amazing. read more

Authentic Mexican food right here. No. I'm not am expert of Mexican food but I know when it's right. This tasted like it came out of someone's home kitchen. I had Asada taco and a Carnitas burrito. That burrito tho...smh! I stuffed myself of its crusty pieces, juicy with seasoning pork and smooth tasting like the cooked all day beans inside. I immediately started to calculate how I can stop by this way at least once a week. This really hit the spot when you want good authentic Mexican food. They are also very fast with the order. Barely waited 5 minutes after ordering even though it was a line coming in to make the order. I also love the fact they got Mexican coke. You need to try this place. Most refreshing tacos, burritos, tortas in the area. Nice staff and beautiful place to eat, more than enough seating. Torta has the best ingredients I've ever had. I didn't know I liked tortas so much. Orange sauce could be a bit less spicy, the flavor is impeccable. Only gripe is the quesadilla. It's just sad. Not very crispy and cheese combination isn't the best or cooked enough. I wish there was a grilled chicken option. That and the need to have an online portal. Place doesn't always answer when they are busy. read more

A friend has been recommending this place for the longest time and it took me awhile. Their tripas tacos are soooo good! I usually get mine from a food truck downtown after work but these are so much better.. and bigger! For the same price! I stopped going to the other one bc it's so small! Haven't been disappointed yet. I love their tacos. My wife loves their tacos. And it's our spot for the weekends. We go there at least twice a week and when I can't go my Co-workers go and pick up for us. I like the green sauce and my wife opts for the habanero spicy. It has a good kick. The tortilla is perfect the meat isn't salty, and even after sitting for a couple hours i eat the leftovers cold and they are still good. Yum yum yum. read more

Clean, cute, comfortable and the food was all housemade and delicious! We met the owner and one of his four daughters who all work at the restaurant. I had two breakfast tacos on light fresh corn tortillas while my husband had a big fat chorizo breakfast burrito We will be back to support this pop and daughter establishment! read more

The best tacos & burritos ever!!!! This is truly authentic when it comes to Mexican food. I tried it for the first time with my family and we all loved the food all around. I remember when Taco Chon was in a gas station. It was special. It stood out from just a taco place. Now, they have a great big restaurant place with room to grow. Seriously, the food here is my favorite Torta and I have a few in my time. You will really like how fresh their food is and always add the crema sauce to your order. My family requests going to 'Chon' all the time. Go and experience family goodness. It's a family affair. read more

I was birn and raised in So Cal and I've been having a hard time finding authentic Mexican food. There's a lot of TexMex spots (obviously) but I was craving that Cali-style taco joint...these tacos were REALLY good! I got asada & chicken tacos and green & habanero salsa... it was full of flavor, hot, and fresh. Excellent service too! The atmosphere is cool too. These were absolutely the best tacos I've ever had in my life! And I'm not exaggerating lol I moved from California over here a year ago on the hunt for some amazing tacos, I found them. Ate here today because of the reviews. We get there and order our food. No one cleans the table. We sat there forever and our number was 57. They call 58... so I walk up and ask about our food.
