These tacos are really good. I don't what it is about gas station restaurants but they haven't disappointed yet! I ordered the pastor tacos and there's enough meat in one taco to make two! Really good and quick lunch!

Not impressed... tacos I got were barbacoa and pastor; subpar, had better. But the biggest let down was the sopes ! What Mexican taco spot uses actual sour cream instead of Mexican creama or cotija cheese which instead was replaced with regular shredded cheese. Not authentic. The daughter of the owner was nice and courteous. The only thing I enjoyed was the chicharrón and salsa. Actually the chicharrón was fire ! If I go back it would be to get a hefty serving of it ! All in all for ten bucks.

Came here for the first time, they're located inside of a gasoline station called Ducky's Mart. We got 6 street tacos, 2 of each, marinated pork, grilled pork, & chicken. First let me start by saying the customer service is great and very helpful, they accept all forms of payment. The flavor to me of the tacos and rice was a little blend, especially with the grilled pork, equivalent to carnitas. Thet have lots of other choices of meats for tacos, burritos, tortas, and tostadas I will come back and try other items in all fairness.

[LOCATION/PARKING] Taco Chon is located inside the new gas station off Western/Haltom Rd. Ample parking spots. When you walk in the gas station, Taco Chon will be in the back area of the gas station. [SERVICE] Taco Chon is a family-owned joint and the daughters are working the front while mom and dad are working on your food in the back! The entire family is very nice and welcoming and you'd have no trouble ordering your food here. All the food came out in a decent amount of time. I've never had a long wait for my food. They accept card and cash. [FOOD] I am definitely a big fan of the tacos and elotes here! They have different types of meats you can choose from. I have tried barbacoa, asada, pastor, carnitas, and chorizo on corn tortilla. My favorite are the pastor, carnitas, and asada tacos! Tacos are $1.75/each. The meat-tortilla-onions ratio is perfect and the tacos aren't soggy at all. They have 3 different types of sauces (green, red, and yellow sauce) and I'm a big fan of all of them. I forgot which peppers were in each one but would definitely recommend giving each of them a try to figure out your favorite! The small size for elotes is $3.50 and you really get alot for what you pay for. They have lots of seasonings (e.g. lemon pepper, chili powder, etc.) and sauces you can put on your elotes. read more

Inside a gas station so i knew this place was going to be fire! Tacos were great. Plenty of Meat in the tacos. Not to impressed by the tripas but the other meats were great! The red and habanero sauce were delicious. The tortillas were so soft, that i could take a nap on them. Jose was cheffin it up with style. Wifey is from LA (Los Angeles) and is always looking for good tacos de asada so when she told me that this joint was opening up, I was excited to see what was in store for us. First things first, if you're looking for a nice place to sit down and have the full on server/patron experience, this isn't the place since It's inside a gas station and seating is a sit-up bar. Don't let that dissuade you though...the food is definitely worth it and, more than anything, full of soul! I ordered their loaded nachos with al pastor, wifey ordered a taco de asada and a tacos de al pastor, our two kids had a taco de asada and pollo. As soon as I saw the owner pull out a handful of tortillas, cut them in quarters and fry them for my nachos, I knew this was going to be good! The serving sizes for both the tacos and nachos were very impressive and were only topped by the flavors of the proteins. The al pastor was seasoned very well and the carne asada was probably some of the best we had in DFW (super tender and juicy)! Perhaps the biggest surprise was that my 7 y/o son (who's SUPER picky) ate not one but two tacos! I looked up from my plate and saw him attack the taco de asada with reckless abandon! The ONLY reason I gave this place a 4 star (and BTW...WTH can't we give 4.5 stars!!??) was because the nachos had unmelted shredded mozz instead of a cheese sauce. Whether it be a standard variation or something more homey, the nachos would be perfect with it! Either way though...rest assured, we'll be back and very often!! read more

The whole crew was outstanding and not to mention the food omg it was simply delicious. We had menudo and my boyfriend had barbacoa tacos Carnitas and al pastor. And the salsas was on point. I had tacos around the area but nothing compared to This place. I absolutely love it! read more

I was on my way to friend's house and stopped for gas. Decided to try these because ... TACOS! I'm glad I did. The best part of a taco is the Salsa, ask for extra Habanero. You wont regret it. My sister got the torta de lomo. I wasn't expecting all that meat for the price. I'll be back. Definitely a hidden Gem. read more

Growing up in LA and having come from Vegas. This is the most solid taco spot in the area. At first I felt a little bit sketch since it was in a gas station. But I've come to realize here in Texas the gas stations have the best food. Where there's lengua and tripas count me in! read more

After reviewing all of the great reviews I decided to go. The eatery was very clean and the service was out standing. The place is now renamed to Duckys tacos. I ordered 3 beef street tacos which was very very small with a small amount of beef but alot of onion and cilantro. The tacos were ok therefore, I can only rate them with 3 stars. read more

Great spot! We always enjoyed them when they were a food truck, and now with counter seating available, it's much better to dine in the new location. It's in a gas station, but do have some seating. Clean and bright environment! The food is excellent. I had tacos and my husband had a torta. The meat is perfectly cooked and spiced. Sides are good too, and I'm thrilled they now offer elote! The staff is so wonderful. It's a family operation with the parents cooking and daughters doing the customer facing things. I think the best taco shop in the area! read more

I have been here twice already and I am already looking forward to coming again! This place is a hidden gem!!!! Don't let the gas station fool you. I've gotten the torta and tacos with Asada they don't skip on the meat either which is always nice ! Plenty of avocado in my torta. You can tell this place is family owned, the staff is always super nice when I come and order. Food always prompt and hot! I will continue to give them my business for sure ! read more

I tried this place for lunch yesterday. I got the combination plate with three tacos, rice and beans. I had two Al Pastor tacos and one Carne Asada. The Pastor meat was delicious...flavorful and not overly spicy. The Asada had a great smoky taste and the beans and rice were exceptionally good. While I was waiting for my food I saw a large pan of chips and when I asked the gentleman who was waiting on me what they were for, he said they were for the nachos. The chips were clearly homemade and i'm going to have to try the nachos next time. The only downside is that they're closed on Tuesdays so I can't go back today. Everyone working there is very friendly and customer service oriented. read more

It is no longer Tacos Chon. It is now Ducky's Tacos and you can really tell the difference in the taste and the prices. Prices went up and flavor and quality went down. I had high hopes for the mom and pop shop but they are not there anymore. read more

First off let me start by saying I was super excited to hear the original Chon was back! And not only was he back but better with new great items on the menu and as always great food! Food was just delicious! Had tacos de asada, pastor and carnitas all meats are just so tender and flavorful! Also tried the sope and corn in a cup also no complaints! Top the great food with the amazing service. Honestly no place in town that I have been too that can beat this. read more

Vaquero's is what they really eat. These kinds of tortillas can only be made by the old grandmother's in Mexico, who have never been to the US, and never plan on going. Saw Taco Chon here on yelp and the great reviews, so we decided to give them a try. Called in our order and told them I was 10 min away...they were very friendly! My order (Combination steak tacos, steak tostadas, and elote) was ready when I got there and they made sure I got all the kinds of hot sauce I wanted. Glad I put everything in the backseat because it smelled SO GOOD I would have been eating on the way home otherwise. It was all delicious and fresh. Will be going back for sure. read more
