I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. The employee who took our order was very friendly and provided great customer service, which was definitely the highlight of our visit. The food, however, didn't live up to the price. The elote tasted old and looked even older, seemed like it had been sitting out for quite a while, really upsetting that the would let that go out to a customer. The beans tasted like they were poured straight from a can without much seasoning or preparation. The only thing I really enjoyed was the green sauce, it had great flavor and was the best part of the meal. Another concern was the restroom. There wasn't any soap available to wash your hands, which is a basic necessity for any restaurant. Overall, the food was overpriced for the quality we received. While the friendly service and tasty green sauce were appreciated, they weren't enough to make up for the disappointing food and cleanliness issues. read more

I am a fan of this place!! The happy hour itself is what's suppose to make you go here. Monday-Friday 4-7pm $4 shots, $4-6 drink, and $1 mini tacos!! You literally can't find that anywhere else!! First checks my phone I'm here for a pick up for Nat, he takes 5 mins ringing up a lady , (while the food comes out and sits on table ) then helps two more customers then talks to another working ignoring the food for take out, I literally had to say "Is that the take out order " for him to finally notice and he was clearly mad interrupted, then gave me a attitude and said "can you verify thay order " and I replied "whay the fuckkk" and he wants to ask why I said fuck . The lady at the original location told me about this one. I was VERY satisfied all for $17 (Tuesday $1.50 hard shell tacos, I had 4). I have chicken & steak in the jalepenos (3 for $5). Half our party got our drinks right away and the other half didn't get drinks until the food came. We also ordered two margaritas and one beer and still hadn't received those by the time our food came. We asked about them, they said they were on the way and they still never came out. I work nearby and was super excited when I saw they had finally opened. My coworkers and I stopped in for lunch. They have a good selection of menu options I really wanted to try the tacos but opted for a fajita salad. I placed my order at the counter and received a small discount for paying cash which was a welcomed surprise. I was handed a number and found a seat in the dining area. Food came out fairly quickly and the presentation was nice. My salad was just okay, I felt it was not worth the price. My friend let me try her tacos and I was very underwhelmed by them as well. I came for lunch about 11:30 . I ordered 4 tacos and the bacon wrapped jalapeños . The tacos were terrible!! They were super dry , and tasted like the meat was old like from the day before. The food was amazing, absolute gem that was not as busy as it should be for how good the food is. The rice and beans are amazing, which is something simple but a huge hit or a miss with most places. My boyfriend who hates refried beans was even saying how amazing it was. Everyone working there is also very sweet. The food came out fast, and the inside was very nice (lots of TVs to watch sports) I will say, the outside was a little misleading in terms of the surrounding area, a tad bit sketchy but that always makes for the best food. I wish I took photos to post but we inhaled everything as soon as it came and forgot about photos until it was basically gone. Will be coming again! read more

IT would've been 4.5 Stars but the customer service from the lady at the bar with the yellowing blonde hair and 3 inches of black roots growing has the worst customer service I've had to deal with, EVER. Her first words every time we wanted to order or ask for something was "what?" and made it seem like we were an inconvenience when we literally would have to walk up TO her from our table for help. This also isn't the only time, i've been served by her a handful of times and each seems to get WORSE. Aside from her nasty attitude the food here is amazing. torta goes off, the baked potato too !! My sister, niece, and I came in to eat here for lunch. I ordered my food first and then my sister and niece ordered right after me. I received my food promptly, and I asked if they wanted me to wait till they received their food, but they said no it was fine. I'm glad I didn't! I ate my food and their food still wasn't out. In total we waited 40 min for their food. When they finally received it, the food wasn't even hot, the Gordita was soggy like it had been sitting for a little, the birria was dry, and my niece's enchiladas were not hot and the cheese wasn't even melted anymore. They didn't want to eat their food after waiting for so long and receiving cold food. So we kindly asked for the money back and left the food and they went somewhere else to eat. I tried to call in an order but kept getting a busy signal. Since they are so close I decided to take a chance and order to go at the counter. I was going to order the papa-rilla, but they gave me a heads up that it can take about 20 minutes to cook. Thank goodness they warned me. They let me know they could prepare most other things quickly. I ordered the burrito and was out the door in less than 5 minutes. I enjoyed the taste, quality and price of my food. What I love most about this place is that it is easy to get to from my work. With traffic such as it is that goes a long way with me. I'll be back! read more

After a long night I tried to leave and pay my tab but their credit card machine was not working! My card was still charged (proof attached) and Mesquite police called. Upon leaving the establishment (and still in the shopping center parking ) I received a DWI. My group was still inside and each had also experienced the card machine not working. My family and I just left Taco City y Más, and while the food was good, we will not be back. We ordered a birria taco plate, torta plate, and a kids plate (drink included) plus 1 jarritos for a total of $49+ (and I still tipped 20%). After asking what I was charged bc the math was not mathing, they printed a receipt and it seemed right but the server was standing over me so I did a quick glance. She explained that the difference was in the kids plate, that although the menu has the price at $5.95 the price on the receipt ($8.50 for food, $2.50 for drink) was the correct price and that they had been having issues with that. Once we left, it still wasn't adding up. I looked at the receipt again and realized that they double charged me for my kids plate drink, $2.50 included in the plate pricing and additional $5.00 but we only received 1 drink. In addition to that, they charge a "cash discount" of 4%. I paid with my card but had I known, I would have paid cash. So again, while the food was good, the experience WAS NOT. read more

This is my second time coming to this new location. I've dined in & ordered pick up recently; staff is fast! The tacos are great! Berria tacos are amazing! I've had the fajita and chicharrones verdes tacos too and they were delicious. The corn tortillas taste authentic to me! The horchata & watermelon aguas/waters were also good!!!
