The tacos are really pricey for what you get as the finished product in opinion meat portions are good but, the tacos are excessively packed with toppings that are either too bland or too sweet. I ordered 3 different types of tacos and a side which I did not believe were worth the price of the food. 1).The flank taco was salty and not a flavor packed salty. 2). The coconut shrimp taco was good as is with just shrimp and a little bit of cabbage pineapple on the taco bad it excessively sweet and cabbage filled the taco more than shrimp. 3).The pastor taco was also really sweet but I would say has to be one of there best in my opinion. And finally the side 1). The corn was loaded with cheese and mayonnaise and butter but corn was not sweet at all. All dining aside the service was excellent, server was polite and informative. The dining experience was not bad I just felt like the inside of the restaurant smelled a little rancid but the dining experience outside was nice and gave off a really fresh and cozy aesthetic. First off I hate leaving a distaste review on anyone but how they handle business is poor. order a corn in a cup every time I come in here the order taker puts cob every single time so I asked can I get it in a cup the server proceeds to tell me it's going to be $1 mind you this is the second time this has happened and they charge $5.95 for a single corn on the cob and I guess and extra $1 for it to come in a cup. They should have someone that understand and speaks fluent English to take orders if there's going to be mishaps every time someone's enters this establishment after years of supporting the small business. And for the sake of the customers listen to their order so you don't have to blame your lack of attention to detail on your customers. This is crappy management, and even insist on not making it right even though I order two cups I got one but the other is on a cob. I've heard lots of good things about this place so wanted to check it out. I love seafood so I was excited to see they have several seafood tacos. I got the ahi tuna and spicy shrimp tacos to start. The ahi tuna is in a crispy taco. Tasty but it falls apart. The spicy shrimp was fantastic. I went back for a coconut shrimp taco. It was awesome. Did a quick "Yelp and Google" search for Mexican joints to take my Father-in-law (and kids) to for lunch. This place had high reviews so we decided to come here. Having never been here before, I wasn't quite sure how the seating/ordering worked. I asked an employee if we could sit anywhere and she said yes. We picked a table outside. After sitting for a minute, I asked a lady near us if she had been there before. She said, "Yes." And I asked if menus are brought out of it you ordered up front. She said you needed to order and pay up front and they'll bring your food out. I asked the gentleman at the counter if they had any paper menus that we could look at outside, as my Father-in-law was out there. He had one to give me but also walked me through the different tacos they had (fish, beef and chicken) and the specials. He also suggested that since it was our first time, to order 2 tacos as they were decent-sized. My Father-in-law went with 2 "Chick" tacos. I got 3 tacos to split with my 2 kiddos: The Flank, The Asian And Picadillo (a special). We all loved our tacos! I think I liked the Picadillo the best. It had ground beef, potatoes, lettuce, tomato and cheese with a nice spicy kick to it. The Asian was good- but like a fellow customer said while we were talking to them- there is a LOT of slaw on it. The Flank was good as well. I enjoyed the flavor but some of the meat was chewy/hard to bite. For 5 tacos and 2 sodas, we paid $27.50. This place is CASH ONLY! I never carry cash but I had grabbed some earlier that day. (How weird is that?!) All the employees were very friendly, especially the gentleman at the counter who helped me. It's hard for me to actually give this place a review for certain reasons, so I gave it a five star rating. I come here often, the atmosphere its always joyful and fun, almost like a big party. The service is always great, but the food is unpredictable. There are certain times I come in and the food is awesome the next time its just so so, it never is really bad though. So I'd have to say, the high me will give this place a 5 star rating, throw in the hot sauce and I'll give it a 5.5 star rating, the drunk me will only give this place a 4 star rating. I did NOT know Midland had this hidden gem. A coworker sent me a picture of their food one day and after inquiring, they told me it was at Taco di Vino. Went there on a Saturday just before 1PM. It wasn't crowded yet, but there was a steady flow of people coming in. At once, I just really liked how warm and cozy it was on the inside. They have regular menus but it's also written on chalk boards on the wall. It IS a CASH ONLY establishment. The good thing is they have an ATM as soon as you walk in. The prices on the menu are per taco. They come in corn tortillas. I like that the menu is very eclectic. I ordered the Crabby Lobster and the Avo tacos. Had a glass of wine with my meal - they also have beers if that's your preference. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming, attentive to our needs and helpful in recommending menu items. Can I just say, I was SO HAPPY when my tacos came out. There was REAL lobster meat and REAL crab meat on my taco! We sat in the outdoor seating, which is actually kind of enclosed (a good thing too from the Midland dust) with transparent tarp, so you still feel like you're outside. The music was upbeat Latino vibe, which really added to the vibe of the place. The server checked on us regularly, and cleared up any plate/glass soon as we were done. We're in Midland, TX for my wife's graduation and decided to stop at a local taco place. My wife found this place on our drive over here to Midland since it was close to the college and we had time before her rehearsal. We always like to give the locals a chance to thrill us. I will say this about this place, the menu is very eclectic. There are lots of choices to choose from in tacos. This not your everyday taqueria that's for sure and I'm not sure they even want to be considered as one. So in saying that, I feel that some of the flavors you normally seek in a taco are lost, or at least that I seek. We ordered the flank steak taco, the Tejas, the confit, and he threw in an asian taco. I wasn't wowed about any of the tacos unfortunately. Sometimes too much, can take away from a taco and totally turn it into something else, which is what I felt here. We also had the corn on the cob and that was the bomb! I am giving this place 5 stars for the hospitality we received from either the manager or the owner. He made us feel welcomed and even threw in an extra taco for us to try.
