We ordered our food and got it. then the woman and cooks were screaming in spanish for the entire time. then we asked for more chips for our family of four like one basket is enough. she said sure i'll give you a little bit more and gave us half filled basket. then half way through all our eyes started burning. and how can we forget how cheese dip is 9 dollars. also we order the kids quesadillas and on the menu is was 6.99 but she rang it in as 8 dollars. i'm in the car right now and my eyes are still burning. and the quesadillas was gross and wasn't even mexican cheese it was straight up cheddar. please don't go here it is gross and out dated in the restaurant. unless you want to donate a kidney don't go here. read more

Took my Jeep in for service and dropped in for a late lunch since it's so convenient. Staff was friendly, recommended the fish taco (it was AMAZING) and the carne asada was good too. Chips were hot and fresh and the sauces were delicious. Will go again. read more

After a couple of invigorating games of bowling with the grandkids, we popped into Taco Express on Carmack Blvd. I'm trying to give the kids different adventures rather than the mundane fast food joints, so T.E. fit the bill. The nice amiga behind the counter greeted us with a smile and some small talk while we decided what to order. I chose the rolled tacos, and the kids followed suit. I guess they figured that if it's safe enough for Grandpa, it's worth the chance. You see, they're used to Taco Bell, Sonic and places like that. Not the offbeat places. Besides, it gives them something to tell the parents about. "You should have seen this place that Grandpa took us to".... The food came to our table quickly and hot. The rolled tacos (taquitos where I come from) were great. Smothered in guacamole and cheese. Mmmm, muy Bueno. They were served with chips and salsa. Uh oh, as I'm writing this one of the grandkids just ran to the bathroom. Hang on, I'll get back to you. All ok, it wasn't the rolled tacos. Sounded like something else. Quick Tip: Make it authentic and have a Jarritos with your meal. My favorite is Pineapple. Their vivid colors can only enhance your experience....or remind you of a trip you took back in the 60's. I have tried everything on the menu more than twice never once have I been disappointed. It is a very clean place with friendly staff The food is out fast. The torta is a mexican sub like sandwich this place makes great ones. The pictures I posted are not great but the food is you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Tacos are good so are the quesadillas. The cook knows what he is doing. I am All ways happy to eat here . I am sure I am leaving something out never take time to take a good picture always ready to eat . I wanted to post this because this place is truly amazing ! They have free chips & salsa. I see a lot of people picking up to go orders but they do have tables you can Dine in . They Also have hot/green and mild/red sauce if you want extra spice or If you like really like Spicy food order some chiles toreados they are " jalapeño fried up in a hot pan Just note : tell them no salad if you don't want lettuce tomato and sour cream it comes on every plate. The desserts are great I normally don't have room for it . I have always been a fan of churros then I had some of their Sopapillas wow I have been missing out . Horrific! Tried this place for the first time the other evening and we are sure we have never had such bad food in our lives. It all started with the lady at the counter talking on the phone for 5 minutes before even asking if we want to order, then she throws the menus at us and says rudely "you order here". So we ordered off the lunch menu and the bill still added up to $24? I guess part of that was $5 for Pepsi's, however they bring the food to the table and the plate looks like something you would throw at a pig in a pig trough. I took 3 bites and said I can't eat this, my husband ate part of his burrito and the waiter forgot to bring his chicken taco. So the taco comes, my husband takes a bite and spits it out almost throwing up. So I take just a tiny bite thinking it couldn't be that bad, and what the heck? No way that was chicken?? Not sure what it was? I spit it out. We should have asked for our money back, but instead just walked out leaving our full plates there and we went down to our normal Mexican restaurant. It's past Friday night May 18, 2018 I had my most horrible experience ever at any restaurant. Place was clean the service was fair. Always get the nachos supreme and they're great. But I decided to try something different and I got a taco salad it wasn't that great the bowl was chewy in places not crisp . And it definitely wasn't the best salad I've ever had. My husband enjoyed his greatly (he got something with shrimp) . The problem came after I got home. I've never had food poisoning before and I never want it again. We come to Taco Express every Sunday after church. Clearly it's amazing to have become part of our Sunday routine. I spent most of my life in Phoenix, AZ and have high expectations when it comes to Mexican food. Taco Express is some of the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. The food is incredibly fresh-from the fresh guacamole to the freshly grated cheese (I'm a sucker for freshly grated cheese that doesn't come out of a plastic bag) The menu is vast...tacos, nachos, enchiladas, pretty much anything you could want they have. My personal favorite is the steak supreme nachos, but my husband says the simple bean and cheese burrito is to die for. He has frequently said he is going to get a job there so he can learn how to make those beans. Definitely worth the trip to Columbia to eat some amazing Mexican food! read more

We ate there a couple of weeks ago. I ordered 2 shrimp tacos. They came out without anything on them except for shrimp. My husband had ordered his tacos without pick, so I assumed that they thought he didn't want pick on any of the order. When I bit into the taco, it was very, very, very salty. Not a flavor I expected to encounter on a shrimp taco. I had to take them back up to the counter and ask them to remake them. This time with pico. Earlier my husband had complained about his salsa being too salty. It was starting to make sense. By the time I finally got my remade tacos, I wasn't all that hungry, but even these tacos were saltier than I would expect a shrimp taco to be. Mind you, I like to add extra salt to my food, but this was way more than that. Everything there tasted like a canister of salt had spilled onto all the food. The taco express on Hampshire Pike is so much better than this one. Go to that one if you want to eat Taco Express. read more

The waitress was amazing but, that was the only good thing about this place. Chips tasted like they were undercooked, almost stale. I ordered a frozen margarita since it was 2 for 1. It was awful. It had tons of black plastic stuff in it and it wasn't blended via a professional margarita machine, instead by a regular blender which meant that you either got real chunky ice or the margarita mix. It wasn't consistent. I ordered the steak quesadilla and it would have been better had it been hot. Instead it was like warm in some places and cold in others. The cheese wasn't even completely melted. Overall, Taco Bell is much better than this location. read more

I was never given the name of the girl that answered but she was extremely rude. She acted as if I ruined her night by calling.
