What happened to this place? We used to come here I've in a while and the food was decent. Tonight our visit was terrible. The food was mediocre. They were struggling to get food out. My wife and I got our food after about 30 minutes and it took another 15 for my son's cheese quesadilla which they obviously gave away to another table. I had to go ask about it 4 times. On top of that, there was a trail of some blood looking liquid from the back door to the kitchen. Wtf? Needless to say, we are done with this place. read more

Always great burritos and salads. Which the salads were a bit larger, but from a flavor standpoint, very tasty.

The good: kids meals were a good value and a hit. The tortillas on the tacos are authentic and delicious. The rest: the young woman working front of house was about as unenthusiastic about customers as it comes. I asked her a menu question and she gave a smart ass answer as if I should know as well as her, so I had to ask again. There were cockroaches in the drink and utensils area. Tacos were nicely presented, but the fish was over-cooked and the shrimp seemed like it was steamed or boiled and had little flavor. Too many misses to give more than one star. read more

I ordered a chicken burrito combo which cost me $15.00 w/tax. High price for a Mexican restaurant with no table service, no chips, and cheap utensils. My burrito was large (positive), but was cold (as well as my rice and refried beans). Maybe just a bad day, but only 1 or 2 people in restaurant for lunch. On a positive side, the person who took my order was a hard worker. With so many other choices available, this is not a place I will go back to. read more

Customer service at this location is very bad when certain employees are handling the front. Today I went to the front and the employee was very rude very short. Had a bad attitude act as if he didn't wanna be there. If the customer asks for something he shouldn't be given an attitude by the employee.. gotta do better read more

First time here, and we will NEVER be back! Stay away! Unprofessional, impatient and condescending service from the woman taking our order. It was busy with customers (good sign), but we were told we could not sit in the back half of the restaurant because she was about to clean there. This is 1 hour and 15 minutes BEFORE closing. She did not: give us a receipt, give us water cups, tell my daughter where she could get her bottle of Mexican coke, thank us for coming in and PAYING for a dinner. So, we had to wait for a table to sit, and, as expected, she had no interest in cleaning off the table for us. She was too busy starting cleaning on the back half of the restaurant. Aptly named "Cali Burrito" because we were treated like we were in California (and, yes, we lived there for 4 years). Authentic "Cali" experience. Looking for average food and terrible service? Legit taco shop!! Being from San Diego, CA I'm a bit of a taco snob. In my travels I'm always on the lookout for good Mexican food and when I see a shop boldly proclaiming to be "Cali style" I'm cautiously optimistic. I can honestly say Cali Burrito is the real deal. Carne asada burrito was spot on! Marinated steak, guacamole, and pico, and that's it, the way the taco gods intended it to be! Rice has no earthly business being in a burrito! Hot and well seasoned, wrapped in a fresh flour tortilla. Just right! Salsa verde is really tasty, with a nice kick. Above average, even by So Cal standards. The quesadilla was huge, and stuffed with nicely seasoned ground beef, cheese, pico di gallo, guacamole, sour cream and beans. I was stuffed after eating this!! Took my family here for the first time the other afternoon and was super bummed with the quality of the food. We spent $60 after tip, which is a lot for a glorified fast food place. I got a California Burrito, my wife got the same thing minus the tortilla, my son got three chicken and cheese tacos, and my other son got chips and guac. The biggest issue were the portion sizes and the lack of freshness of the ingredients. My burrito had the smallest amount of ingredients I've ever seen in a burrito! Same with my wife's burrito bowl! My wife and I have grown up eating CA Burritos and nothing about these taste like the real thing, unfortunately. From the cold ingredients, the soggy French fries, and finally - probably half the amount of ingredients that should be in the burrito, we were very disappointed! Extremely over priced! I so wish I could give them a high recommendation. The food is good & the daytime mgr is great but the evening crew is downright rude & unprofessional. If a customer placed an order & it's prepared incorrectly the right thing to do is to either fix it correctly or refund the customer. Neither happened. I was told the mistake was mine (it wasn't). I ordered a $4 taco was charged for a $10 burrito that I couldn't even eat. I didn't even ask for a new burrito I just asked for a taco since that's what I originally ordered! This is by far the best Mexican place in the area. Having grown up in Texas, I have high standards for Mexican food- and this place exceeds them! Each time I've gone with my husband, we've ordered something different and every single thing we get is scrumptious. My favorite is the Shrimp Quesadilla- it's packed with shrimp, chorizo, fresh jalapeños and tons of cheese- the tortilla is perfectly crispy and buttery from the grill. My husband really enjoys the Cali Burrito- mostly the same ingredients as the quesadilla above but stuffed with fries too! Classic Cali Mexican food!
