Create Your Own 3 Scoops with salmon, marinated ahi, & eel, brown rice, edamame, mango, pineapple, seaweed ($1 extra), furikake, & nori

Surprisingly good poke for the Midwest! I'm from CA and after a bad experience with sushi in NE Minneapolis, I wasn't sure what to expect. The fish was fresh and on par with my favorite poke spot in CA. I had the three proteins with salmon, marinated ahi, and eel. I was pleasantly surprised that the eel didn't have an upcharge as most poke places in CA don't offer it. I got brown rice for my base and edamame, pineapple, mango, seaweed salad ($1 upcharge), furikake, and nori. The sauces I got were ponzu, eel, and unfortunately I'm forgetting the third one (I think it had ginger in it?). The restaurant was quiet when I arrived around 1:30 pm. The employee was friendly and efficient. Best of all, the bowl only cost $16, even with the $1 upcharge for the seaweed. I typically spend at least $18 for a medium/3 protein bowl in CA. I'd come back for sure!

My daughter had a craving for poke and we happened to be in the area. I didn't realize they have a location in Maple Grove. Huge parking lot is in the back. We walked into a nice and vibrant restaurant, colors of white and green like the ocean. Huge ordering counter where you see the spread of items to put into your poke bowl. You can choose to build your own or signature bowls that lists what is in it. They also offer smoothies and dessert.

My first time ordering from here. I got the 3 bowl. They def give you what you're paying for in portion size. Although I asked for onions and they gave me rice crisps instead, it was still very good.

Mini Me who is taller than me have seen the sign and finally took the bait and wandered into Hawaii Poke for dinner. Right away the vibe was fun with good music and friendly staff to answer all the questions as ive never done Poke before! I got the Dragon while Layla got a make your own and we both couldn't even wait to get home to start eating these massive bowls! As i was swerving and eating through Maple Grove to get home, both of us mouths full agreed Hawaii Poke might hit the weekly Thursday dinner out wheel as a choice! Perfect fit to Maple Grove and a lovely new fresh choice!

I've never had poke before and this place is really good! Nice and helpful workers, great tasting food, and a cool clean interior. Nice place for a sunny day refreshing lunch. I will be coming here again in the future!

Pro tip: talk to the damn bartenders. We got a free shot on the house just from being kind! The food was the star here for me. Got the BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu with Mac and Garlic Noodles. They gave me 2 BBQ chicken thighs that were piping hot, juicy, and tender - AMAZING! The katsu was fantastic as well and incredibly crispy. Sides were perfect complement. Garlic noodles are nice and garlicky, no messing around with those. I will certainly be back!

And living in Seattle for 20 years ... has exposed me to some good Hawaiian as well. Walking into Ono on a whim was by chance . I wanted something different but never did I expect to be wowed with this food in Minnesota... so many miles removed. I had the Loco Moco with hamburger steak. Came heaped with a beautiful serving of rice, macaroni salad, gravy and two eggs sunny side up (perfectly cooked) every single thing on the plate was as amazing as the next. The macaroni was salad was a point of conversation between us, but so was everything. My co-diner had the Chicken Katsu and garlic shrimp served with 2 scoops of rice, macaroni salad, and a katsu sauce. Once again... a slam dunk. Every single thing! We shared an order of spam to keep it OG, and by far the best spam I had ever touched to my lips. Who would have thunk it could have been leveled up so simply. This meal by far was one of the most amazing and pleasant surprises I could have ever expected, and can't wait to go back for more. Service style is very causal...order at the counter, get a number and they bring the food to you. Uncomplicated, and direct. Very friendly service and very dog friendly on the patio. Water dishes and dog beds are strewn about for your furry, four-legged friends. Mahalo!

Service has always been attentive and most importantly, I've literally never had anything that wasn't delicious. This time, we ordered the coconut shrimp to start. They were so crisp and juicy and large. This is something that we get many places because it's my husband's favorite and we both agreed this was our favorite coconut shrimp so far in the Twin Cities. I got the Asian slaw salad with Aji tuna. I've had this before, it is so good especially the shoyu dressing. It sounds boring to come here and get a salad, but it's just delicious especially with the crunchy macadamia nuts. My husband got the loco Moco with short rib and loved it. We got fries on the side. The kabayaki aioli was so unexpected and good! The fries were hot, salty and crisp. Solid fries on their own. We also asked to try the ghost pepper aioli, which was fab and not too hot.

This location is inside united noodle (an Asian grocery store). There is plenty of free parking. The service here was fast and friendly. This place actually has Pepsi zero! I feel like you normally get regular and diet! Being inside this grocery store is its own vibe. There are picnic tables, chill music and a large picture of Oahu. Some of the picnic tables are breaking and wood tables would probably hold up better! The food: if you don't get the Kahlúa pork, you are doing yourself a disservice. It comes with a guava barbecue sauce, which I put on my rice. The meat is perfect on its own! I also got the garlic shrimp, which was absolutely perfection! I don't like macaroni salad, but my boyfriend said his was very good and spot on to what he had in Hawaii. My boyfriend said his chicken was very good. If you haven't tried this place, you are absolutely missing out!!

As evidenced by the name, Tiki Tim's focuses mainly on island inspired cuisine (save for the fried pickles). Their menu is fairly modest in size, comprised of Tiki (shrimp and crab) cakes, fish tacos, a Hawaiian influenced pulled pork sandwich and a smattering of side dishes. While the choices are limited, they've all been quite good. The fish tacos are the highlight for me, with generous pieces of crispy and not-too-greasy fish, but you really can't wrong with anything (bring a knife and fork for the pork sandwich). The converted big blue Chevy is easy to spot on the streets, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable.
