Let me preface this by saying I've been a huge Taco Bell fan forever. But this was absolutely perfect. The chicken Fiesta taco was delicious and stuffed with veggies but not soggy. The fried chicken with queso was just ok, not much queso, but freshly fried and crunchy. The Mexican donut bites were crunchy and had a yummy cream cheese like sauce (not sure why they're considered Mexican, maybe it's the cinnamon?). Service was quick. I have been looking forward to trying this chain but I was disappointed. My opinion is that it is just like Taco Bell without the selection of Taco Bell. After about three weeks of non-stop traffic due to it being a new fast-food restaurant, we decided to stop but go through the drive-thru and take it home. We had a coupon via their app. The cashier in the drive-thru was courteous, helped us with the coupon on the app, and called over a manager to assist too. We ordered the Boss Burrito combo, which was adequate, but I remember having it over a Fort Knox AAFES, and it was a more peppery, robust flavor; this time, it was bland. Fresh, yes, but not memorable. The terror was the greasy Potato Olés, which made my wife sick. When we heard that Taco John's was coming to Central Kentucky, we were excited because, besides Taco Tico's three Lexington locations, Taco Bell has no rival regarding Mexican-inspired fast food. However, if Taco John's maintains this level of quality, it might sway more folks to frequent Taco Bell or Taco Tico. On a side note, they're headquartered out of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and the next closest is in West Chester, OH, which currently has a 2.3. Maybe negative reviews come with branching too far out from your headquarters. read more

Moseyed upon Taco John's on a lunch break from work. I'll preface my review by stating I'm a fan Taco Bell and my review will start by being unbiased to my beloved fast food joint. The vibe of the place feels like "Taco Bell meets Jack in the Box." Food was good, but not jaw dropping. Hot / Mild sauces have spice. But lack flavor. I had the chicken fried tacos combo, nacho crunch beef burrito, the spicy chicken / potato griller and tater tots. Order was accurate and hot; what more can you ask for? That's why they get 4 stars in my book. However, my biased opinion. The food depicted on their website/ads are what I think Taco Bell looks like after a couple of bourbons. Would I prefer Taco Bell over Taco Johns? 100% percent. Would I go out of my way to eat here? Not really. read more

So I am not sure if anyone has noticed, but finally this location is added to the app! But really, I have a complaint about the app and the communication to this location. So on the app, you will notice that A LOT of the items do not have price tags if it is a create your own entree (meaning nachos, taco bowls, etc.). This makes it tough unless you go through making it. Some of the items do have prices tags. I decided to order two $1 quesadillas. Not bad. I also found it odd how they do not charge for hot sauce and ketchup, but they charge for mild? So they want you to tough it through hot sauce (if you are not one to like spicy) and charge people for eating mild. lol I ended up listening to the app when it told me I was suppose to click check in before going through the drive thru. All that ended up doing was making the gal tell me at the speaker that they "just received the order" and it would take "2-3 minutes" when I arrived at the window. Like what is the point of that? You might as well just let the order go through and then at the drive thru, have the person with the mobile order remind them, and then pick it up. Why have a button to press for check in? Complicates things. Anyway, the quesadillas were basically a taco with cheese (one would think a full round quesadilla). There is a survey deal on their receipts for 25% off any food one buys on their next visit. The website will ask for an 18 digit code to start the survey and the one will see three sections of numbers, the third section being way more than what one has to put in. The food was bland. Nothing to go crazy about. Staff were very nice. But it's located in an awkward spot.

Me and my partner recently moved out of town and was sad because where we reside now doesn't have one of these chains. We stopped by today while in town visiting family and can't say enough good things. I placed my order via website and forgot to add some modifications. When we arrived they had already made my food and I said it was fine the way it was, however they offered to remake it with absolutely no irritation. After remaking it they asked if there was anything else they could get us. We ordered even more and they had no hesitation to make more. They even gave my partner what they had made me originally free of charge! The steak quesadilla is amazing and so are the employees! Would highly recommend! read more

i've only been 1 time so far if not i would give it a 5 but i ordered the new cheese crunchy chicken club taco & the chicken quesadilla & i got mild sauce . i went through the drive through even tho there was a slight line it moved quick! the lady who took my order , was super nice & friendly same with the cashier person . the food was good, & i would definitely go again . i can't say much about the inside , but the drive through was better than most read more

If I could give this zero stars I would I do not recommend this place at all. Customer service is rude. They're packed food is horrible. They don't have what they advertise on TV. The cheese sauce for the chips taste like cheese whiz from a can you get at the grocery store? The cheese quesadilla taste like a cracker with cheese on it even though we ordered a chicken quesadilla it was hard in stale. The only thing that I thought was good from the restaurant was the Pepsi. And the meat, cheese and lettuce tacos are very soggy, and I would not recommend this place at all. read more

First of all, I understand they just opened and most likely still have some kinks to work out. This is just what I experienced for the first time going tonight. One, they don't have the mango shrimp tacos or shrimp in general. Previous review (8 days ago) states they did. Drive thru order taker did not sound friendly and was rude. She stated "We don't have those."When asking if they had any shrimp items at all, response was rude and short "we don't carry shrimp." Period. Thought I was at Taco Bell for a second. Not many options without meat. Ordered nachos with no meat and beans. Chips were stale and chewy. Only sauce option was hot, which is fine, but I am unable to eat anything too spicy at the moment. No plastic spoon or fork to go with the side of refried beans. Chicken taco was good. Churros we're salty, which is odd but I like salt so they were good to me also. Hopefully this location will be set up to order through the app in the future. read more
