I use to work at this store when I was 16 the food was good and we love to keep our customers till today I went back and see how it was going they need to improve more the drive through guy was rude they didn't cut the quesadilla like it use to in the past and the grill chicken wasn't a grill chicken it was more of a burrito and the quesadilla wasn't grill throughly and the guy didn't game me my nacho cheese and was gonna have me charge for another one could say that they need to improve on everything would ask for a refund read more

Went last night for food. It was after normal dinner hours, and the family hadn't eaten yet due to schedules. We wanted something fast and simple so we could all eat an hour or more before child bedtime. Grabbed a handful of tacos, some Ole's and nacho cheese for everyone. I asked for sour cream to be added to all the tacos. We got the right number of tacos. None had sour cream. We were given extra nacho cheese beyond what we ordered, not sure why. Food tasted fine, as well as is expected from Taco John's. However, we all suffered later int he night as we each ended up in gastrointestinal distress during the night and we don't have enough bathrooms in the house to service everyone at the same time. It's been several hours, and though we are all lacking some sleep it seems we can send children to school without issue, and I can say for me that work today will be difficult due to lack of sleep. We've eaten from this store in the past with little issue until recent months, so this was a bit of a surprise for us all. I guess next time, assuming there is a next time, we'll try the newer store in Eagan near Town Centre though I see that store doesn't have may good reviews either. Maybe we'll have to stick with the local mexican places instead of the chain stores from now on since Taco Bell hasn't been much better than this lately either. I grew up eating Taco John's quite often (weekly or more). I expect better than this. read more

Stopped for dinner at 9:47 (understand they closed at 10) pulled up to the drive thru and was not greeted, after waiting a few minutes, I pulled to the window where we were ignored by the 2 young men who looked right at us. Once they finally came to the window, they were extremely rude and said they were closing early due to short staff (there was 2 if not 3 of them) and shut the window on us. Yes. I am reviewing fast food today. Because we all know everyone relies on Yelp for their fast food needs. Lol. The restaurant was clean- not spotless but clean. They were in a dinner rush but the employees were all working really hard so that was appreciated. The large soda is insane. Enough for at least 2-3 people. While I was filling said soda... the I hear the tv above me blaring Fox News. The irony of Fox news in a Mexican fast food joint is completely lost on me. Anyways.... the guac is decent, the potato Oles are good especially when they are fresh. But the second reason why I wrote this is that I would rather eat this queso over Chipotles slop any day. read more

I love Taco John's and their food. I prefer to eat in a restaurant rather than eat in my car. Their lobby has been closed for months with a sign saying they cannot find help. Every other restaurant in the area can hire enough help to have their lobbies open; why can't Taco John's? The Taco John's in Savage has its lobby open, so I have been going there. I'll give this review more stars once they figure out what every other restaurant did in the area and gets enough help to have their lobby open. read more

I stopped through the drive thru and ordered. Got home and realized my order was not right. Called the manager and was treated really poorly. I had ordered Potatoe Oles and a side of Nacho cheese for them (The only way my family likes them). They forgot the cheese. The manager "Paul" said yep, I see it right here. Next time you come through you can have a free cheese. I told him I was too far to come back and without the cheese there was no point in even having the Potato Oles. He refused to help further and said that is our policy we forgot the cheese and you got the potatoes. I was so mad now that I figured it would be worth the gas money to just return this garbage to this horrible company....I then asked to come in immediately and get a cash refund. He told me there will be no refund. We also ordered a medium order of their new Honey Habanero wings and they are awful. Needless to say I will not be back. read more

This location has been pretty dependable over the years. However, last night we saw something at this location that was quite alarming. We arrived at 7:00pm to get some take out. Their Nacho's Navidad are always great as well as the grilled chicken burrito that we also ordered last night. The surprise that was alarming to us was when the person was done ringing up our order, she took off her glove and then proceeded to eat food out of the prep line trays with her bare hand. Not that a bare hand versus a gloved hand matters when you are putting your hand back into the food after it was shoved into your mouth. We will not be returning unless this issue is remedied. I was craving a taco last night and I was in a bit of a hurry... Taco John's was my quick fix! I had an appointment to go to after work so I decided to swing through the drive thru on my way. The gentleman assisting me was quick and was able to provide me with a price instantly... I just ordered two soft shell tacos... Yummy, I love them here. Service was quick and friendly. Busy afternoon. Ordered at drive through, noticed they forgot the Potato Oles which I ordered. Got to the window and they made me go through the drive through again to reorder my Potato Oles. Gave me my 4 tacos, but made me go through the drive through again for the Potato Oles which THEY forgot. This is stupid! Line twice as long now! Finally get them ordered and back to the window to pay. No compensation, or apologies either. Get home, now the tacos are completely cold. Also forgot my sauce which I asked for. Let's face it if your in the mood for a taco and in a pinch for time Taco Johns will do the trick, or will it? I stopped in a few evenings ago just craving a beef burrito. Went inside ordered up and stood there and watched in horror as the gentleman in the kitchen fumbled my tortilla, he managed to recover it as it slid down the front of his dirty shirt. What a save was hoping it would be thrown away, but instead it was passed on to his associate who slathered it with toppings and bagged it up, meanwhile I see the guy who fumbled my tortilla wiping his nose on his sleeve. The food is usually ok here. Ordered my food today and noticed that the guy rang it you wrong. I repeated what I wanted again and he said ok. Got my food and it wasn't what I ordered. Tried to fill my drink and there was no ice. This was at 8:30 in the morning. So its not like they ran out. They just weren't ready to open. Had to find the guy to put ice in the machine. Then went in the bathroom to find that it was dark. No light switch to be found. Lights were not turned on. This place was clearly not ready to open for the morning. The person at the cash register first got our orders wrongs. We already payed, confused, then said why the potato ole's were written as bean burrito. They took a long time to fix that and retake our order, even the manager barley knew how to do it! Once we got our orders, the quesadillas weren't even wrapped, and the cheese was stuck all over the bag. The potato ole's weren't even in the cup, the cup was placed in upside down! They had forgotten to give us our milk, because we thought they would put it in the bag. We didn't realize that they forgot our milk until we had gotten home, so we had to go back to get it. Sunday evening I and my wife, son and grand daughter stopped to eat the person taking our order missed my wife's request we noticed people sitting in the booths and assumed they had eaten and were just visiting before they left..but no..they hadn't been served yet when we realized my wife's order had not been taken we corrected that right away and she received her food as we were sitting down while the people who had been there waiting were still waiting to get their orders we watched as the people preparing orders were confused as to which order was next to be served they finally begin delivering food orders and we finally received ours as well the food was not hot and very bland ...no taste at all we ate what we could pick though and tossed the rest as we were leaving the young person at the counter told us he was sorry for the mix up ordering and I did comment that we had learned a good lesson and wouldn't be returning...my wife was getting a refill of soda and was behind us...she heard one person in the food prep area say "next time they come in tell them we're closed" that comment more than anything cuts it for me we will never return to Taco John's for bad service and bad food if you stop here don't be shocked with the terrible food read more
