Two enchiladas with rice and beans.
Carrie G.

Decent food, I just live their cheese enchiladas. They have so much flavor with the cheese and the sauce, soft tortillas it is great. Also the rice and beans are top notch. Service is friendly no matter which location you go to. And they are quick.

My favorite Torta with ground beef and jumex strawberry and banana.

I love eating there when I need a quick lunch such as time frame and good foods too! I go there often.

Special Tacos (carne asada) Make It a Combo (adds Rice and Beans)
Lane B.

We've tried a few places in Anchorage looking for authentic Mexican food and this is the closest we've come. I'm so glad we found it because we are here for another 14 weeks and I NEED good Mexican food to survive! We had a torta de asada, tacos de asada, tacos de carnitas, side of beans, and rice. The salsa was spicy and flavorful; the torta was loaded with all the right toppings and delicious; the carne asada wasn't the best I've had, but the best I've had in Anchorage for sure! The carnitas was tender, flavorful, and just enough crisp which told me it was cooked authentically. The menu is slightly confusing and the price point a little high, but for us it is worth it.

Receipt showing credit card fee

Terrific carne asada meal. But watch the cashiers. Taco king charges a 4% fee on all credit card purchases. Today I paid with cash. But the cashier told me to pay the amount that included the 4% fee. When I realized what happened, his supervisor refunded the overcharge. So watch the cashiers.

2 Halibut Tacos, on corn. When asked for FLOUR. No extra cheese, pretty sure I paid for it too.
Aries K.

Just don't call order, or trust them without looking. This taco salad has NO shell (ordered that way) like 7 chips and NO beans. Ordered FLOUR tacos. Got corn, again... What a waste of money. They are good but honestly do t care how their food goes out. Last time.

Ordered dinner for delivery and was told it would arrive within an hour. Called to check on it 10 minutes past an hour and they said someone would arrive within ten minutes. It came an hour and 40 minutes after ordering. Good food but not for delivery. Would rather have been told it would take closer to 2 hours to arrive and I would have made a different choice. Food arrived cold and soggy. Not impressed. Lost my business.

Veggie burrito combo

Delicious veggie burrito, super fast and friendly service. Good salsa bar. Real (not just disposable) silverware and cups!

Had lunch here with some friends and ended up with a story we'll be laughing about for a long time…read more There was a bottle of hot sauce on the table called "357 Magnum" (about 1 MILLION Scoville ). We thought it was regular hot sauce... so naturally, I absolutely drenched my burrito in it. Big mistake. HUGE. This is to be asked for by customers lol... and it was left out by mistake... One bite in and it felt like I got maced straight to the soul Tears pouring, coughing, face on fire--we couldn't even eat our food because it was that insanely hot. Honestly, it was next-level pain... but also kind of hilarious once we survived it Here's the part that really matters: the owner handled it like a pro. He apologized sincerely, took full responsibility, and didn't even charge us for the meals. That kind of customer service is rare and says a lot about the people who run this place. Owner is amazing and thoughtful... really great people there Accidents happen--but great businesses make it right, and they absolutely did. Awesome food, great atmosphere, cold beer , and genuinely good people. We'll definitely be back (just... maybe staying away from the 357 Magnum next time ). Thanks again for making it right and giving us a story we won't forget!

Terrible. The enchiladas were OK. The coffee was the color of tar. When I opened the tiny container of half-and-half, the contents were solid and plopped into the coffee. I fished out the solid mass with my spoon and called over the waiter. No apology. I think he then brought back the same coffee, new mini moo-cows. Really terrible dining experience. To top it off, there was an empty plastic vodka bottle on the ground by the front door.

I usually wouldn't eat Mexican food in Alaska those two don't really go together in my brain being from California but I wanted to give it a try anyway lol I ordered the Cilantro Shrimp Molcajete and some chips and salsa on the side. First I will say I don't see why certain restaurants charge for chips and salsa it should be free in my opinion. The salsa lacked flavor and was more sweet than anything. (I asked for the spiciest salsa they have) and the order was $8.. I get it for the size I was surprised but that salsa wasn't good. Moving on to the main dish tho we have the Molcajete which was really good in my opinion. It came out SIZZLING! and the size of it wasn't what I was expecting. So if you're hungry I would def get one of those entrees ! The flavor of the fajita mix was good and the amount of shrimp you get was super filling. That dish was about $38 with the shrimp. The bartender was nice and asked me if I was doing okay a few times and also made sure my water was filled which was great he seemed really knowledgeable of all the good food recommendations and was pretty quick with service so employees were cool ! All in all I enjoyed my early dinner in a nice place that played good Latin music and I liked that it's walking distance from my hotel. I would eat here again one day and try some of their tacos next because I hear they are pretty good. I would say they need to just make the chips free because the are NOT worth $8 lol like at all but other then that decent place.

We have had a lot of Mexican food on both sides of the border. their fried beans is #1. Spicy Salsas wow, slaps you , yes from the first bite, it's unbelievable they are here in Anchorage. Yes the menu will be a bit challenging and they may disappear after serving you.. ;) but it's necessary for what they deliver. If they were in NY or CA, they will be minting, But of all places Anchorage gets this Treasure. Loved the food, the spice, the flavor and the freshness. Caring friendly staff. Loved it. Good luck guys. Keep up the good work.

While the mole sauce was delicious, the chicken thighs I received were so small and bony, my rice lacked flavor and the beans were very soupy. My chips were like the little broken pieces at the bottom of the bag making it hard to scoop any decent amount of salsa into them. For almost $30/plate I was anticipating more protein, bolder flavors and better quality. I want to give them another chance, but sometimes first impressions are lasting impressions. Service was friendly but waitstaff were busy so not as attentive. Ambiance is what you'd expect from a hole in the wall.

Like they were frozen, thawed and froze again. The sauce they simmered it in wasn't good and I'm convinced helped overcook them to a rubbery consistency. My steak was fine, but was well done vs medium rare like I ordered. I prepared myself that it likely wouldn't be cooked right, but I expected at least a little pink. I know it's not a steak house, but they cook steak for other items so I figured I'd be okay. My partner said his ranchero steak wasn't very good. He only ate it so I wouldn't feel uncomfortable eating while he waited. The meat wasn't very good he said, tasted old. He said the sauce wasn't very good either. For the rise in prices of things quality has gone down. They haven't done much for improvements - my seat had a big gash in it. Unfortunately after being a customer for many years I don't see myself returning here after 3 strikes this year of poor quality food at an inflated price. I think they should consider cutting their menu in half and really focusing on making quality dishes.
