It started with a dirty table and wet to the touch. Our napkin holder was empty and stayed empty for the whole drawn out meal. Napkins all over the floor and many dirty tables. Our waiter must be new I guess cause he would come to table and never return for ten to fifteen minutes at a time. He never served our food and we had to ask for silverware, napkins and serving plates. Items missing from our order when we finally received it and we were told that celery was a side item and could be substituted for fries when my son ordered wings! I said no way! Then he brings three tiny sticks of celery and said it was on him! Please! I orderd fish and chips but got street corn. Not good and looks nothing like the picture! I didn't even eat it. The fish was good and my fries too but everything else was mediocre. Service is horrible! One waitress said our waiters service was inexcusable and apologized! I will never go back to this location. I used to like Taco Mac a lot (like when it started in Virginia Highland in that gross diner) but it kind of morphed into a McDonald's like thing. Last night was a pleasant surprise. Yes, there was an odd guy that happened to have a racially diverse selection of hookers with him. Yes, this was in Canton - not normally the most vibrant scene I could imagine (we were driving back from a business trip to Nashville - same day, ugh). However, the food was surprisingly good (maybe because I was hungry?). The chicken supreme nachos (or whatever they're called) were really really good. I didn't drink booze - I know. There are some long wait times during peak dinner hours. I didn't experience any problems with my service and my servers have all had a good attitude. You just can't beat their beer selection... the largest that I have seen in the Atlanta area (not including other Taco Mac's). But it not just the beer [talking], their food is great too. Taco Mac is hit and miss. I've been a few times and have had great service. Other times it's taken almost two hours to get in and out. I know I'm a minority here, but I really appreciated the vegetarian options before they changed the menu. Their black bean burgers were so good and I found out they discontinued them the other day. Also, my favorite app, the buffalo hummus, is now something covered in olives and doesn't sound appetizing at all. They'll make it the old way if you ask but seriously, why mess with a good thing. Best service we have had at this location in years! Our server Julie was pleasant, bubbly even. Our drink order arrived quickly and the beer menu is still massive. I really hate to give them only two stars, as I generally like Taco Mac. This visit, however, came within a hairs breadth of me having the manager come by so that we could complain about our server. The server we had initially did a pretty good job... She got our beer orders promptly, to the point of pestering us a bit. It wasn't too bad, however, at that point. After that, however, is when things started to go downhill. Once we had our beer samples and had ordered food, we sat for a pretty significant amount of time, at least compared to other Taco Macs I have been to, fore her to come back and get our regular beer orders. Once we had our beers, we gave her our food order, and then waited. She didn't bring out the food order, it was someone else from the kitchen. This isn't unusual for Taco Mac, but it was then another ten minutes or so before she came to check on us. Instead, she was sitting at another table in the restaurant chatting with a guy whom I presume to have been her boyfriend/significant other. She checked on us once or twice, but only when she got another table, and only because we grabbed her on the way by. We then finished our second beers and food, only to sit another half an hour, waiting for her to come by with a check. Given the good reviews others have given this location, I may try it again, but if the service is similar, I'll definitely be talking with a manager. read more

If you are reading this, you probably already know what Taco Mac is. It's pretty much a sports bar with decent food. I am from California, so I didn't try their "Mexican" food. I know I can get great Mexican food here any time I want, so I just stuck with the basic bar food. The chicken wings here are good and have a lot of meat on them. Their sauce is also good; however, it's nothing special. Their burgers are....well.....burgers. That's all you can really say about them. The reason I gave Taco Mac 4 stars is because of their beer selection! Living in California, we have great places to drink beer all over the place. Growing up in Ohio, this was never the case. You had your Budweiser, Miller, Coors and other cheap American beer drinkers, nothing else. I was in Georgia visiting a friend and saw an add on the plane with a picture of all of their beer taps. I decided to ask him about it and he knew what it was. We went with a group of guys and had a few beers. Their selection was pretty amazing. While they didn't have nearly as much draft beer as I would have liked, they did have a large selection of bottled beers. I think in all, they had around 300 beers to chose from. That's not bad for a restaurant. If you love beer and happen to see one of these, I would stop by! Go for something new also, you may be surprised! read more

I had the southwest chicken wrap, paired with a broad selection of childrens' meals which were quickly devoured by the monkeys. The grandma of the group had a salad and the house dressing which she proclaimed to be "amazing". Let's keep in mind folks that Canton is not exactly the foodiest of destinations, and the high class joints in this har shoppin place are Taco Mac and Olive Garden - I chose the one with the shorter wait. Taco Mac is always good for consistently decent food, good selection of crap to watch on TV and the annoying impossibly fat chick making way too much noise at the table behind you. It worked. Great volume of beer selections and multiple food selections drew me to this location because I have had decent enough experiences at other Taco Mac locations especially the hot wings. This one though was disappointing. Best thing that I can say is that the restaurant in new and maybe they don't yet have their act together because... they don't have their act together. Patron volume has been consistently high resulting in one hour plus wait times to be seated. But service was not at all good. No kidding, the fire alarms went off THREE times just after we were seated... Kind of disconcerting that there was no explanation from any of the staff. My order of wings was short (almost 10% of the quantity on the menu) and when that was pointed out it took over fifteen minutes for the server to return only to tell me that the manager was going to come by... fast forward ten minutes to another question about if I would still like the wings and another ten to have them in front of me... Had to ask for water many times as weel as ask for the cookies which were left off the kids menu items. Also note that there is a little bit of fine print in the menu that beer prices are "subject to change" which they apparently did or I was overcharged... I don't know which was the case definitively because the waiter did not himself (remember that this location was just opened a few short weeks ago - you would think that the menu items would not change that fast). Considering past experiences at other location this one has some promise but was definitely lacking tonight. Considering the long wait time and sour experience I will not be returning any time soon to see if there is any improvement. Not sure what's happened to this place. We haven't been here in about a year, but I can tell you that the service has gone WAY down hill. We arrived at about 7:45 on Friday night and it is NOT busy. We order some wings and a quesadilla. Not complicated right? Well evidently it is! We see not one, not two, not three, but FOUR other tables receive their food before us; when they ordered AFTER us! About 25 minutes of not seeing the server at all, she comes by and says they were eating on our wings. Not sure why that's the case! It's a chain and as dependable, predictable and mediocre as that would imply. My wife's fish and chips were identical to those at other T-Macs. Good crisp coating, well-cooked fish and plentiful fries. Acceptable sustenance, but not a dining experience. My Hickory burger was slightly below average. There was not enough of the BBQ sauce and, although I asked for it without onions, they were not only present but in large quantities. . Service was adequate, but could have been a bit more attentive, considering that we went in for a late lunch and the restaurant was nearly empty. I have been to this new location 2 times now. I am generally on the cusp of being a fan of Taco Mac in the first place. I am not a fan of the portions you get here, don't order the chili cheese fries, very small portion. Wings here are pretty good, come for that. Service the first time was very good, second time however... I don't think you can call that service. He might have been new but he had excuses for everything. I know there are not too many places in Canton to go enjoy a beer, especially since they closed the Jocks and Jills, but still the prices are a bit high for beer. Then again, this is Taco Mac. Came here the other week and they recently changed up the menu. My mom and I liked their new menu better. It's a lot smaller than before which I think is a good thing. My brother though was disappointed they no longer had the macaroni burger though, which he really liked. I got the chicken quesadillas which were great. My mom got a flatbread which I tried and loved. I forget what my brother got. Service was very good. My mom's flatbread came out a little cold at first. But, management corrected it and quickly had a new one out. I will definitely come here next time i'm back in GA. read more

I love taco Mac but last night was unacceptable. Our server Helen was the worst, we waited 40 min to be sat as we saw at least 10 tables open. When we got seated our server did not greet us for at least 20 min. Things just got worse from there. By the time we actually ordered food it came out cold and we never received our side items. Horrible from beginning to end. There were 2 adults, 2 kids at lunch time. It was not at all busy yet it took 45 min for our meals to come out. The queso/chip app we ordered never came out at all. I asked for cheddar rather than blue cheese on my Cobb salad but still got blue cheese. The bacon and hard boiled egg in my salad was barely there. It was a big bowl of iceburg letttuce with a little grilled chicken and a few cherry tomatoes for $10.95. The other 3 meals were just as forgettable. We wont be back. Ok so I'm giving them stars for customer service. Our waitress was super friendly, accommodating, and prompt. We didn't care much for our wings however a lot of people have referred us their strictly for that therefore I won't say the wings were intolerable I will say that my taste buds are different I personally thought they lacked flavor but I'm a chef I marinate and season my wings before I cook and toss in sauce so there isn't a Two second delay of flavor and its flavorful throughout so that's my method and I must be fair In my review especially being as they were so nice. Oh and the salsa con queso omg it was Aaaamazing. Like I would come back there for that and margaritas often. I like a place that offers the kind of customer service where they appreciate repeat customer relations therefore they are willing to accommodate our dissatisfaction by not charging us for the food we didn't like without taking offense. They may have lost a few dollars today but they will gain a lot more from me this year. I will make this place a weekly venture, and try new things on the menu. read more

This restaurant is by far one of my favorite spots, but can i just say the food is great, but the staff is especially fantastic! Our waiter was Gregory, who was immediately very sweet and was very attentive despite it being 10pm on a busy night! All of our food came out right, despite my specific weird order due to my dairy allergy! Every waiter We've had here has been phenomenal, but Gregory was just fantastic! I honestly have no idea where people are getting this impression that this TMac has bad service and the food is meh... I've been going to this TMac for about 4 years now and we know everyone there. Granted we've had our fair share of new servers who don't really know what they're doing, but if anyone has been new in food service you know it takes a minute to learn the ropes. Even if the food didn't come out right (which is has in the past) they've been really good about making it right. I mean, once I got this turkey burger that tasted like a salt lick. So the manager Sara went back to the kitchen and made me a barbecue chicken hoagie that was loaded with cheese and delicious-ness. When has anyone every been to a restaurant where the manager makes food for you? If you walk in at 5:30, it's going to be busy. This is a family restaurant, and there is going to be a lot going on, some confusion, and lots of rowdy kids. But it's still a great place to eat. If you want fast, go to Chipotle, its right up the road. If you want quiet, eat at home. If it's really that awful of an experience, just ask for a manager and be cool. I love the other Taco Mac's I go to in Woodstock/Kennesaw, however this one needs a new manager. The beer list is smaller than all the other Taco Mac's, and when I say small, I mean Publix or Kroger have a bigger selection. Food is basically the same as the others, typical semi-upper class bar food. However, the main point of Taco Mac is the beer, and this location doesn't have it. I typically give all restaurants the benefit of the doubt- busy or whatever the case may be. I barely even yelp but 2 times at this location with a bad experience- ehhh. I've gone to this restaurant two times - the first time being just as bad but I thought I'd give it another chance because I love wings and it's close to us! I don't have high expectations from a restaurant chain but I have a little hope! First, I paid $50. $50 for a pretty disappointing dinner. I give one star because first my husband ordered tater tots and got 6 French fries instead. Okay..that happens but 6? Not a handful - 6 French fries. We literally counted. He also ordered fish - 3 very small pieces 2 of which were intertwined together. Now, I'm talking the size of a fish sticks with a little more "meat" and they tasted like fish sticks. (For $12.50 I may add.) Now onto my order, I asked for "swimming wings" - I think we all know what that means - the only thing that was swimming were my French fries. Which then weren't edible but hey at least I got more than 6! My Wings weren't even tossed ...warm.., or even moist. The Garlic Parmesan tasted like butter with no hint of garlic or Parmesan Also, there were multiple dark spots on my wings. I ended up eating the majority of it because I was starving at this point because we waited 45+ on a Tuesday night that wasn't very packed. Let's not forgot my app that ended being our kids meal - We ordered a flatbread pizza - that's where the 1 star comes in - tasted pretty good - kinda microwave-ish though but the kids didn't mind. Service, was okay - I understand that all the waitresses were tired but some cheerfulness or maybe a warm welcoming smile would maybe give this restaurant another star. 2 1/2 hours of my life and $50 that I will never get back is pretty disappointing. I have frequented this Taco Mac location for several years several times per month and will no longer give my business to this location. Some of the bar staff are extremely rude. Unfortunately, my wife and I experienced this rudeness from one particular bar staff person numerous times now and my wife and I have decided that it is not appropriate to continue to give our patronage to an establishment with such rude servers. The wife and I dined here twice during our visit to Georgia. The restaurant is of the cookie-cutter franchise variety but our dining experiences were great. The general atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and welcoming. Even though this location was rather loud that was expected from this type of restaurant so it didn't detract very much from the overall experience; it seemed like a great place to take the family for a nice dinner outing. The service was attentive, fast, and friendly, the food good and like most restaurants in the chain, the amount of beer on tap was incredible; I love trying new brews so this it really wonderful to try a few of the locally made beers. Stopped in for late dinner this evening. Ordered appetizer and two meals along with drinks. Server was pleasant. Started off great, drinks served promptly. Waitress soon returned to explain they were out of the appetizer due to heavy sales the prior day. Asked if we would like to select another appetizer. Not a problem, we get it. Ordered second choice. Five minutes later our dinner arrives, no appetizer. We are looking at each other and 75 seconds later the second choice appetizer arrives. My companion asks them to take it back. The person serving us (not our waitress) says she can explain and my companion says "Don't bother, we don't want it now." Server states again, "Let me explain...". "No, don't explain, just take it back and take if off the bill, we don't want it now." The server then says "I am not your waitress, but I know what happened and I am going to explain anyway!" Companion (now irritated): "NO. Don't really want to hear it, we don't want it now, take it back." Server: "I am going to tell you ANYWAY what happened..". Companion" "Please get your manager." Server "Oh my GOD you are SO RUDE!." 1) The original waitress never came back to the table although she was well aware of what happened; no spine and bad customer service skills. One word from her could have made it better. 2) Manager(?) came up and smiled and asked how we were doing. I told her it had been a long night and we just wanted to get some "to go" boxes and would leave. The response was she wanted to explain to us what happened (again - as if these folks don't understand we really REALLY did not care for an explanation, just let us eat the flipping dinner in peace). We didn't have much of a choice, we were going to have to suffer through the explanation. Manager(?) -Paraphrased-: "The waitress went ahead and placed the dinner order when she found out that the appetizer was not available, and then asked you if you wanted another appetizer in its place after that!" Me (thinking): "No f*ing sh*t Sherlock." 3) I asked for to go boxes, explained that it had been a long day but I had now lost my appetite, that I did not like being told that we were rude when in fact the woman had been told at least three times that we did not want an appetizer after the main course was served and did not really care what happened, did now want to hear it, that appetizers should come before the main course and that her staff should be able to figure this out and how to manage it. Restaurant 101. The real issue is that they should have just let us eat in peace and served us as good paying customers. Not the case. I don't think they care at all about the paying client. We could see the staff laughing in the background, they thought this funny. I didn't even bother 2waiting for change I was so ticked. I am sure the bubble heads that served me are laughing and think they are doing wonderful service in this industry. In my view, epic fail. FWIW I am 58 years old and have been going to Taco Mac since I was a teen and first visited Virginia Highlands location in the late '70s. My name is Stuart. Hadn't eaten here in a while but my wife and I stopped in for a bite to eat. I got a Burger and she got Chicken Strips. After letting her have a bite on my burger she immediately had food envy. Hands down the best burger I've had in Canton. I was surprised because it had been hit or miss in the past. Well, after that lunch trip we ate here 3 more times in the next week & a half, each time Both of us got burgers. I'm not sure what's changed but I like it. My go to place for a burger from now on! I figured I'd post an update to my previous review. At the time of my last review I gave them 5 stars for their burgers. Since then I've returned several times and did not have nearly the same experience. The burgers have become so-so at best.
