Came here tonight for dinner with family. My bf and I and his brother and wife have all been coming to this taco Mac since it opened and tonight we had the BEST server yet and really great service! Darion was just so attentive and always checking on us and accommodated my annoying diet requests (lol). I am so glad he gave us the best service we have ever had there! He was on top of EVERYTHING! One of my husband's fave place for wings. He was craving them. We didn't know there was a location in Lawrenceville. We often go to the AMC and Cue nearby. We need to seek food in this area more. The last time we ate at Taco Mac, I got a bean burger. Now, it's not the same, no more bean burger. However, any burger I want, I can sub it for impossible burger! Yes! (Heads up this a sit down eat in review) The Delivery: One day me and a group of my friends had a long night cleaning up so we decided to find what's out to eat late night. So around 9pm we took a trip around Lawrenceville and found Taco Mac still open. While driving up we immediately noticed a line out the door, and since this is my first time ever being to one, I was expecting great food for such a long line. finding a parking spot was fairly easy granted so many cars being there so that's a plus in itself. The outside of the building was clean, but once we stepped in it became immediately humid and hot with a thick smell of must in the air from so many people being by the front door. This brings me to my first issue, there is barely a place for people to wait on being called to their tables. It took them around 25-30 mins to seat us but it was a busy night so this was to be expected. While waiting at our table we noticed that the building was split into two. One side was the bar/table side which was littered with TV's each one having a different sport than the other, the second part was on the right side of cash register, which you could tell was for larger groups of people and all the TV's on that side had the same sport on. Needless to say, the right side of the place with the larger group of people were very LOUD. Every time something would happen in the sport that side of the room would cheer or scream in some cases causing the people who weren't watching that sport on the other side to look visibly disturbed and annoyed. Through the time eating this set a pattern of people cheering and everyone else looking as if they wanted to leave. We were promptly asked for what we wanted after being seated and this is where the major issue comes into play, it took them at least 40-50 minutes for our food to be delivered. That is ridiculous know matter how many other people you have to serve during this time. I know i don't have to say this but YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO WAIT 40-50 MINUTES FOR YOUR FOOD! The Presentation: When ordering we had the choice to order an appetizer before our main course but seeing as the place was packed we decided to opt out of that, just so we can get to our food earlier. I decided to go with the Cuban sandwich with a side of fries.....which was a very bad idea, don't ask me why i decided to order a place mainly known for burgers and wings. After we finally got our food, I noticed the sandwich came on a wax piece of paper sitting on a silver platter with the fries close by. The Taste: (Cuban Sandwich) This was the worst tasting Cuban sandwich I've ever had to be honest. Biting into the sandwich made me realize parts of it was cold for some reason, like it was sitting out under the air conditioner. That's not to mention IF I COULD EVEN BITE INTO IT. As a person with braces, i felt like biting into the sandwich would cause my braces to snap off of my teeth, so i tried my best to break it up into smaller pieces and eat what i could....And what i could eat was decent, if you can overlook the dry meat while downing a glass of water. So if you like cold dry meat....then this is the sandwich for you. (Plain Fries) The best part of the meal because they were actually warm and crispy. All you have to do is overlook the lack of salt and any type of condiment (even after you ask for it). The Conclusion: Stay FAR away from this place, it is not worth your time nor your money whatsoever. My friend's chicken came out raw, and my other friend's salad didn't have enough dressing (He asked for it twice and the server never gave it to him). Needless to say, the worst first time experience at a Taco-Mac ever. Covid Safe? No, none of the servers had their masks on, and the tables are way too close to each other for peace of mind. We were looking forward to coming here and trying the wings out. Should of look at the yelp reviews before coming here. We order the wings oven baked. The server was very forgetful. Forgot to ring in our appetizers, put them in 10 mins after she put in our food order. I ask for samples of beers, literally took 10 mins. She should at least try to learn the beer list if she's working here and trying to sell it. How are you supposed to sell items on the menu if you have no idea what it is or what it's called? Our wings arrived, they were not cooked but the server told us they were. So she had them remake another order for us. Second time was a fail again. They were not cooked again and she had them oven baked extra crispy. We had her send the manager over, he confidently told us that the wings were cooked and that was just a vein. I don't get the low reviews at this place! I have come here multiple times with the hubs and friends and it is always tasty food and great waiters! Top 3 worst management I ever seen. I was dining with a person that dine and dashed on me, I alerted the waiter as she walked away from the table, and no one stop her. The manager Katie came out and said she can take the appetizer off but not the alcohol. I I refuse to pay the bill so she had called the police. When the police arrived, they came out with the other manager Jordan. He kept over talking everything I said. I told him I was a very logical thinker and he kept saying they was doing everything in their power. Which was a lie, because they could either take the alcohol off or either offered me a voucher. I was totally not happy with this transaction. I was charged twice for one meal. First I went online to order my food and Yelp came up. I tried to place the order but the Yelp website said no internet connection , I got no confirmation. I then went to the Taco Mac website placed the order and it went through with a confirmation. I was told at Taco Mac that there were now 2 orders came through because they received both orders. The manager assured me that they canceled the charge of the Yelp order and I would be refunded. This Taco Mac location just opened up a few days ago. Today is the first time my children and I came to dine in. Excellent customer service and fast too. They were fast seating us, as well as, serving us. Our server was patient and answering any questions and a nice manager even came by and did the same. I highly recommend coming in. You know, I should have checked trip advisor or yelp before I walked in. The food was absolutely horrible. Order of nachos was served as a dip that looked like vomit. Waitress said I should have asked for them built then walked away. My wife's wings and tots were cold as were the shrimp my daughter ordered. The burger my Son in law ordered was dry. When you walk in, you're greeted by cigarette smoke from smokers standing at the entrance. I was there to pick up my takeout order. There was no one working in takeout when I went over to the window. As I stood there waiting, at least 3 employees in the kitchen locked eyes with me. They didn't offer assistance or anything, just went back to their jobs. The food was severely underwhelming. My fries were lukewarm and soggy. I put ketchup on them, and I kid you not, the ketchup was the most flavorful part of the fries. My veggie quesadilla was soggy as well, and had very little flavor. And to my unpleasant surprise, there were little bits of steak in one of them. The guacamole had no taste. The rice was cold and completely tasteless and unseasoned. Some of the rice was also over cooked. This "restaurant" should be ashamed of themselves. I'm seriously shocked that they even have a two star rating and that they're still in business. Decided to get a quick bite at Taco Mac. My husband and I waited at the front (no host) for 7 minutes. We noticed the manager had to yell for servers / host to help. We finally got sat and the server came right away (bleach hair w/ glasses) said he would be with us quickly, waited 12 minutes. We decided to got to the bar (bartender was quick!) he explained they were a bit distracted due to a Christmas party. Very sad that the Christmas party was during restaurant hours. This Taco Mac has been so good to us! I recently had an engagement party and rented out the 2nd floor for about 40 people and it went perfect! Tony helped with all the logistical stuff and made planning super easy! Mathew was the manager on duty at the time of the party and was always checking in with me that everything was going as planned, which it was :) Lindsey, our waitress, and only waitress worked so hard during the party and made sure there was never and empty glass at the party. I thought we would've had a few people helping with the party but apparently all you need is a Lindsey and some rock start bartenders. Great place for Sunday Football. Food was on point as well. My issue was with the Bartender. I think her name was Morgan. She was by far and away the worst server I have ever had. Her lack of personality and ability to make me feel welcome were astronomical. We ran up a $100 tab and when I asked for a glass of water, you would think I asked for a vial of her blood. My fries tasted like complete rubber, there was barely any lemon pepper on my wings and they gave me two blue cheese instead of ranch! After craving this food all day, I was PISSED to the point that I did not even want to eat the food anymore. We were kid free and together for lunch on a weekday, so we stopped by the newest location on Lawrenceville Suwanee. Remember when it used to be Old Tavern? Well, it's completely renovated and much more spacious than before! Bright and inviting. 10/10 on the renovations, guys! Staff was friendly. Our lunch cost $40 without tip and here's what we got. 6 traditional wings in Asian Sweet Heat ... 5/10. Chicken wasn't crispy and the sauce didn't have much flavor. The blue cheese and ranch dressings are on point though!! I got the All The Way Nachos, "built" and it had great flavor. Large portions. It was more like a chili bowl with tortillas, but, thankfully for us all, I love anything chili! 9/10. The hubby got the Chattahoochie Burger and he really enjoyed it. Went to Taco Mac for a quick and late lunch after a long day. The bartenders, Jess and Terence were absolutely awesome. I had to send my meal back because I had a little too much sauce (which I asked for oops lol). They sent it back and brought me a new wrap and it was PERFECTION. The manager Pete even came by to apologize. The restaurant was not too cold and had nice patrons at the bar. I didn't get a cocktail but I am sure that would have been great as well.
