My sons and I like taco mac generally , but this location was a step down from what we are used to. The service was ok... the food was less than the usual quality. My crispy chicken tacos were anything but crispy! They should have been called soggy chicken tacos. The carrots that came out with the wings were like rubber and floppy. The fried pickles were fried in a corn meal batter that made them strange and just off. We will go to our normal location. This was a we weee here and this was close... but next time we will work our way back to our normal spot for sure! read more

Yikes - Taco Mac Johns Creek location definitely gives Taco Mac a bad rep. The location here was the worst I have ever experienced. Service was really slow. Although it was a Saturday, the restaurant wasn't that busy and our table was the only party that our server had. He disappeared for a good 20min before we could place our order. I also didn't appreciate how it took 15min to get our waters and he put it down and told us to pass it around. When he came around with napkins, he tossed them down on the table. There was a clear lack of urgency. After waiting 45min for ordered wings and they all came out cold. Cold wings are the worst. We also asked for ranch and got blue cheese instead. I honestly don't understand the bad reviews, unless perhaps they now have new management? I don't know if they do, but my husband and I have been twice within the past month, and had great experiences both times. 1. Friendly service--the manager came by our table on our first visit to personally talk to us and bring us a dessert. Servers both times were very friendly. 2. Food was great, good portion size, and very reasonably priced. 3. Cocktails were very good (my husband got an Old Fashioned and I got a Manhattan. Both were good). 4. Nutshell: Bad. Really Bad. Pic attached. Dang. I should have checked yelp before ordering lunch for my office. Now, I know this wasn't going to be great food going in. I don't eat Chili's or Fridays or chain garbage often, but the crew said it was close and quick so I let them order, as we are located a 60 second drive away from the restaurant. Pickup scheduled for noon. Arrived 8 minutes early and order was waiting up front. After the 1 minute drive back, we pull the 9 items out, and the only way I can describe them is "cold." Not one single thing was hot, or even warm. I almost spit out the cold Philly egg roll bite. Soggy as all heck and tastes of nothing but salt. And take a look at the wedge salad and tell me you'd pay more than 1 dollar for this chunk of iceberg core and 7 bacon crumbles. This is exactly how it came. I cannot stress enough how awful this meal was, from start to finish. Avoid this place until management learns how to manage. If ever. read more

This is a decent spot to watch sporting events and have a few beers. Since where I was staying didn't have SEC Network, I came here to watch the Bama game... ROLL TIDE! The bartenders were friendly and very hands on. A little too much but they didn't get on my nerves. Other staff I encountered were friendly as well. Draft beer selection was very extensive....Lots to pick from! I didn't order any food since I had dinner before arriving. This was my first time at this location. Other locations I've visited seem bigger. Nevertheless, the bar area was comfortable and served it's purpose. It was cool watching the game here overall. My wife and I have driven past this place multiple times but never stopped to check it out. Well, we finally did. We were greeted at the door by Francis (one of the managers) and taken to our seats. 'Mags' was our server. Both of them were happy to tell us about Taco Mac since this was our first visit. The service was e excellent. The food and drinks came quickly. Mags came back several times to check on us, as did Francis. Now, on our second visit, it seemed t like a different restaurant. We stood at the entrance for about 5 minutes waiting for someone to seat us. They had several small tables to attend to, but they weren't really busy. We had to constantly wave to 'Jackson' (our server), to get his attention. My order of hand tossed bone in wings was wrong. They gave me boneless wings. It was not an enjoyable experience. Oh, Taco Mac. How I do love thee! Still my all time favorite place to get wings and a good beer in the whole US, and an absolute must visit every time I come back to Atlanta. I highly recommend the Three Mile Island sauce if you like things spicy (I personally get my swimming because I like them super saucy, but that's just my preference). Throw on some crispy sweet potato fries, and you are good to go. We also started with the Buffalo Egg Rolls as an appetizer for our table, and those were good as well. They have changed the formula and the last two times it's been so salty it's inedible and a health hazar for anyone with blood pressure or heart issues. So I guess "we're understaffed" is the new mantra for poor customer service. We were not greeted when we walked in by the hostess, we had to stand there and wait for her to finish her personal conversation with another waitress. This Taco Mac is one of our regular stops for a meal close to home when I don't feel like cooking. I have to say; I'm surprised by all the bad reviews. I will say we never get carry out and if there is a long wait we either leave or grab a seat at the bar. We've always had attentive service and the food has been consistently good for us. My family loves the Deconstructed Chicken Tinga Nachos. My husband usually gets their boneless wings, I'm a fan of their traditional wings and my son orders differently almost every time we go. We enjoy being a part of their Brewniversity Club. I will say their beer selection isn't always the best as they tend to be out of brews listed on tap. The last time a waiter spilled an entire glass of soda on me and walked away. The manager said they'd give me discount because of it but they didn't. I've eaten at Taco Macs for over 25 years. I always loved their wings. When this one first opened up, it struggled with consistency. I actually stopped going when I had a wing craving and went somewhere else. My wife hated this place. For whatever reason, about a year ago, we gave it another shot and were pleasantly surprised. I've waited to post this review to make sure it wasn't just a fluke. It wasn't, they've gotten back to being very consistent and the wings are awesome. My favorite things on the menu. All I can say is I'm glad this is the one closest to where we live. I've been to other Taco Macs that are less than stellar, but this one is worth trying! We came here after doing some light moving for my boyfriend's dad, and we were starving. I didn't feel like eating there, so we got carryout. We ordered lemon pepper wings, honey chipotle roasted wings, and a side of sweet potato fries. I'm very picky with my fries. I need them crisp but not burnt, and I don't like them too thick, not too overly salted, and I need them the right temperature. These fries were spot on, and the ranch dressing is bomb. I'm pretty sure it it homemade. It taste homemade, and it's so good! It's thick enough so it doesn't drip all over your pants on the way to your mouth. It's got robust flavor and garlic. Yummy!! Now on the wings. Mine were roasted and they were crispy the way I like them, and downright delicious. They had plenty of meat and them, and I like that you can get flats, since we both only like that style wing. This meal really hit the spot. The place was pretty quiet when we got there, but it was also late at night. They have a huge bar, and lots of TVs for sports, but it was just baseball on, and we both are not into that sport. Definitely give it a try! I know they are on ubereats as well, so if you are worried, just order from there. We have done that as well, but whoever was cooking last night, BRAVO!
