I love the original location downtown. Myself and a couple of coworkers were at the airport area and needed some supper. I had to take them here. The location isn't as cool as the original, but huge and the food and service just as great! I got 3 tacos and street corn. General Homeboy, Thai shrimp and a cali chicken or something. All were phenomenal! My coworkers got a bowl and nachos. They were very happy also. The tacos here are unique and always the star of the show to me! Service was great. We have been to Taco Mamacita's on several occasions. We prefer this location over the original for several reasons. The host was incredibly friendly and quickly guided us to our table. The place wasn't busy so it was nice and quiet enough to converse. Our server also arrived quickly, was friendly and took our order for the app as well as drinks. We chose the chips and queso. It was tasty. We each had the two tacos with a side. We chose two Sloppy Jose's (our favorite, made with sloppy Joe meat instead of taco meat) and Mexican street corn. Excellent!! I had high hopes for Taco Mamacita, I remember enjoying the location downtown. This one in Hamilton Place just didn't do it for me. It was pretty empty on a Monday night when we went. We were sat right away and our server was was friendly. The establishment is clean bathrooms are clean. I liked the feel of the restaurant beautifully decorated. It was the food that's causes this to have such a low rating for me. I don't mind food being expensive if I'm paying for quality. This meal was just expensive for no reason. Started with chips and queso and that was the best thing of the night. The margarita wasn't tasty for being strawberry flavored. The Birria tacos were some of the worst I've had. The shells were fried to the point of being so crunchy you could barely bite through it. The meat wasn't seasoned like with the basics: salt. The consume it comes with lacked flavor so dipping the Birria tacos in it was not helpful. As for the sides the Mexican corn had way too much chili powder on it you couldn't taste anything else and the Mexican rice was just meh also. I can cross this location off my list or hopefully they work through their kinks because Taco mamacita done right is delicious. read more

The downtown location is one of our favorites but this place is trying too hard and not delivering on quality. It was dirty, food was cold and prices are outrageous. This was our first time in and I'm so happy we gave it a try! The queso was very tasty and had enough density to stay on a chip, the mango salsa was soooo good!! I have issues with onions and since this salsa has no onions, I was able to eat it freely! Yay!! My margarita with Xicaru reposado mezcal and an upgrade of Cointreau was to die for delicious! My entree was so frigging good! I didn't take a pic, and don't remember the name, SORRY! But, it had 12 hour slow roasted half a chicken that was flash fried before serving. So moist and flavorful! I chose as my sides the street corn which was very good and sweet potato fries that were maybe the best I've ever had! Noel and Mattie at the bar were outstanding!! I hate to be that guy but not sure we'll be coming back. The gold was very expensive for what would be an OK dinner, nothing to rave about. The Peruvian chicken was basically a rotisserie chicken, nothing to write home about. The tacos were definitely better than the chicken but still, not all that remarkable. The margaritas were very good, but since I'm not a big drinker , they didn't go very far to tilt my opinion of this place. Being from Nashville I had very high hopes. Where to begin....We waited over 25 minutes for queso & chips/salsa - and that involved several servers & 1 manager. We saw 4 other tables order after us & eat before our entrees arrived. The server was new & apparently forgot to "send" our orders to the kitchen. Management blamed her, she blamed kitchen. Either way, the service was absolutely terrible. I should have gone to Taco Bell. Resturant wasn't very busy but I was essentially ignored the entire time I was there. I waited with an empty cup for the duration of my meal after one of the many servers told me they would get me more. I think I had 4 different servers over my time there. I think everyone there was just there to celebrate a birthday and those large parties took all the attention. When I actually got the food it was just ok. I've certainly had worse but I've definitely had better. I wasn't expecting authenticity but I expected a bit more presentation and better quality for the price. Everything was great! Great service! Great food! Great drinks! Hadn't been in a while and was impressed at all of the improvements.

First thing you notice is the atmosphere. It's joy and excitement. The smells are amazing! This location feels bigger than the most their location. The food is top notch! Their queso is one of my favorites. I have had most things on the menu and can say they've all been amazing. I tend to gravitate to the tacos or nachos. My husband and I just tried out the new Taco Mamacita at Hamilton Place while meeting up with a good friend of ours. We realize they just opened, but they could make some improvements for sure. The waitress was sweet and kind, so this post is not targeted at her. We got seated and the manager (I'm assuming) said he's not going to be our server, but took our drink order and appetizer. Once we ordered our appetizer, which was $8.00 just for chips and queso; that took 30 minutes to get out to our table. We then ordered our entree's and that took FOREVER to come out. We spent 2, almost 3 hours here. 45 minutes waiting on a table and then we had to wait what seemed like forever on our food, which was just mediocre. It cost about $95 for everything, including drinks. Unless they do some major improvements, we will never be back. Highly unfortunate. read more

Thinking WTF when I bit into it‼ The Waiter asked if everything was good. I pointed to the Bone he said "it's a Wish-Bone... for Good Luck" being sarcastic!!! I told him "it wouldn't have been Good Luck for y'all if my Granddaughter had gotten choked on it‼" I requested to talk to the Manager. He wanted to give me a couple of coupons to use when I come back. I asked if he could do something about today's CHECK thinking to myself that I would not be back to use the coupon... After that question and being ignored for several minutes by the manager and the Waiter. Wow!!! My friend and I ate here this past Saturday, and it was absolutely perfect!! We were greeted by an extra friendly hostess. She let us know there was a wait (not surprising for a Sat.) She also let us know we could wait at the bar in the meantime, which we did! We had mojitos (so fresh and refreshing) and skinny margaritas which can sometimes be "fake" tasting, but not these!! The bartender was busy, but just as lovely and accomodating as could be. She told me her name and I can't remember it. We ordered quac and queso at the bar that was super yummy!! Their quac is my fave. Once we were seated we had a sweet server named Shae. She was attentive, without being overly so! I had the Mexican chopped salad with rotisserie chicken added. I am somewhat of a "salad expert" LOL, and this one is on point!!! It is really fresh and the chicken is amazing!! I also had an order of beans on the side...yummy!!!! The food came in a timely manner, which was also a plus. Overall, a fantastic experience, especially for a newer spot - way to go Taco, great food, service, and vibe...you've done it again!!!!!! I believe this was their second day being open but Im going to start with 3*'s. Although the food was amazing & our server was very good & did all she could, this was a very disappointing night. We had family who were driving in from Memphis & met us there. We were quoted a 30-45 minutes wait time, got seated an hour & forty minutes later. At one time, I could see more empty tables than seated ones. They did not have their beer license yet. Getting our food took forever and when it's explained that "we don't want to crash the kitchen" is why it's taking so long, just doesn't sound that good. The deal breaker for me is having to pay for chips & salsa. I have been very excited about the opening of this place but it was such a let down that we spent over 3 hours here & $145 for 3 margs & dinner for 4 people. Not the best night for our guests. Bottom line, they obviously didn't have the staff to support an opening so why force it & disappoint people. I am sure I will go again, but believe it will be a long time as to let them get up and running properly. P.S. when they have a decent crowd, parking is impossible as well. read more

Great service and food! A friend suggested we (a group of 10) meet here for lunch today and I was a little apprehensive because of some of the negative reviews I read. However, the staff was very friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to work with one of our party who has gluten and corn allergies. They even offered to check the ingredients in several sauces to find something that was safe to eat - it's hard to find service like that these days! Our tacos and cheese dip were very good, and everyone enjoyed their orders. Be advised, there are a few items that are very spicy though, so be sure to talk with your waiter if you don't like the heat. Well the first time I came here everything was great. The nachos and the service. Today I wanted to take a friend so she could experience the food and everything. From the moment we walked in until the minute we left it was a horrible experience. The hostess acted like she was being inconvenienced while asking us how many in our party. Got seated in about five minutes. The whole vibe in there was off. All the servers looked miserable. Ours was no better. My friend wanted to order a taco with fries but the server said the taco couldn't come with fries. So as my friend was then trying to hurry to make another order the server looked a little agitated. She ended up ordering a taco that came with a tiny bit of meat, cilantro and one piece of bacon laying across it. Weirdest thing I've ever seen. The food didn't come out for about 30 minutes and it was cold. Both orders were cold. It obviously was sitting up there for a while. When I told the server our food was cold and it probably was sitting too long she said oh ya probably. Then she said oh sorry I'll make a note of it. Then quickly brought back our receipt. We never once saw a manager walking around and she never offered to get one. We paid full price for our cold food and we will never go back. I don't understand people these days who don't take their jobs seriously and managers who also aren't on top of things. A manager should be on site and noticed by patrons while running a restaurant. Since being loyal to Mamacita downtown since it opened, we had high expectations in visiting Hamilton Place. Unfortunately, this location may have the name and a snazzy new building, but the food is really lacking. Simple items like beans and corn are shadows of what they are downtown. Tacos are OK, but again, not like downtown. The avocado taco had 3 pieces of avocado. The other tacos are OK, but still not good enough. And on top of all that, everything is at least a dollar more.
