Worst experience! We can at 5pm for taco Tuesday and ordered 5 tacos. We waited 1 hour for the tacos to come out... so did everyone else in the restaurant. These days my tolerance for slow check out and cashier experiences is zero. Takes way too long to place order , they have one cc machine to process orders so if two cashiers are set up they have to wait. Just so counter intuitive what business wants to make paying for customers harder? Lastly why is there ice in your salsa for me to pour on my hot food? Ordered 2 fish tacos(grilled), and the steak burrito.. Besides waiting 15 minutes for my order to go, the fish tacos had a small piece of fish the size of half the tortilla.. The flavor was horrible, took one bite and threw them both away.. The burrito was good sized, but once i cut into it realized it was 3 quarters pinto beans, and very little steak.. If you like pinto beans this 9 dollar burrito is for you.. Me, I dont so this made its way to the trash also.. All in all, almost 15 dollars in food made its way to the dumpster.. Very disappointing experience. All the salsa were from the day before. They didn't make my burrito the way I requested it (didn't want it wet) even though I gave them a nice tip upfront. The cilantro was super old and was going bad already. Half the soft drinks were out. This place needs management badly. read more

Once found a femur chicken bone in my taco but other than that the food is consistent. Can't get myself to eat their chicken anymore though. El Pastor is where it's at. The salsa is better than most other places and I often take some home to dip my salt and vinegar chips in. The cashiers are hit or miss, half the time they are shitting rainbows and the other half of them look like their pet rabbit was killed before coming into work. Overall, I keep going back. read more

Went here on Saturday. The place was filthy. Almost every table was empty the messy. The table by the drink machine was disgusting and dirty. It was not vet crowded. The ground and all the corners were dusty and dirty. The backs of the chairs were sticky. We ate outside because it was so hot and gross inside. My food was barely edible. Was in the area and searching for some Mexican food. We decided to give this place a try. We were not disappointed. Everything we ordered was great. The salsa bar was spectacular. The price point is slightly higher than I am used to paying for similar plates - but I won't hold it against them. my sister has a tendency to overhype, so when she started raving about this place i took it with a grain of salt and figured it would just be "a-ight." but after sampling the menu, namely the blackened chicken burrito and tacos, i begrudgingly had to give it up to her for actually being right. grrrrr. taco mesa is in the upper echelon of the mexican fast-food hierarchy. far above taco bell, rubio's and even baja fresh. its nearest competitor, to me at least, is wahoo's. love their use of cabbage and the sauces they use on the burritos. i have now drank the kool-aid and i'd suggest you do the same. read more

Great fresh, made to order Mexican food. I especially like the crispy shredded chicken or beef tacos (fritos). Tasty salsa bar with fresh diced onions & cilantro. The sangria is ok....could use some more kick. Guacamole is pretty good too and I'm a guac snob so that says a lot. Pricing is moderate but compared to others its pretty comparable. Gotta try the enchiladas on the next visit. Nice outdoor patio seating if you want to eat there. read more

I refused to buy in to the craze, mostly because it's far from authentic and it's a chain eatery, but with that asdide I must admit it's pretty damn good for what it is. This place takes a good good item and makes it great by adding small details that elevate the end result. Their chicken tacos are delicious and their chilaquilles are possibly my favorite breakfast Mexican dish. Great salsa bar particularly their escabeche. Also something that may get overlooked is their coffee that is spiced with cinnamon. Don't forget to check out their specials. I sat outside and waited for 30 mins when the guy told me to come back, and gave it a second chance. They didn't offer anything or even an apology for waiting. No spoons for Salsa, 1, burrito took 15 mins because of lack of staff. 9:30 and I finally got my burrito. The kid in front is always nice.
