One of the best Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles. I have tried almost everything in their menu, the Pollo Asado, is grilled to perfection, Albondigas soup, simply delicious, Chicken burrito was huge and very tasty, menudo is mouthwatering, the shrimp tacos, are amazing. Worth mentioning that all salsas here are home made very fresh, and delicious with the right amount of spice. I'll start with I went in with low expectations and came out a bit surprised. I'm on the never ending hunt for good Carne Asada. I've pretty much given up on replicating San Diego style, especially since this place doesn't end in TOS. What I had tasted like actual steak. It did have rice and beans inside which I usually don't care for, but went with it this time. What I didn't like is rather poor distribution of some items. At the end of the burrito I felt like it was all onions for example. No bueno. Good selection of salsas and a big menu. Spicy carrots would have been a nice touch but this isn't San Diego I guess. Plenty of parking in the Vons lot next door. read more

We use to go here a lot, then sort of forgot about it, with all the pop up tacos places - Was driving past a while back and thought, "hey, we need to go back there" - so we did and we've been back a few times. Their food is great. The folks taking orders, cooking and serving do a great job. The place is clean, organized and not loud. Parking is easy and the have lots of sauces to choose from. The food was amazing I was surprised because on this side of town, you can't really find too much authentic Mexican food. They did not disappoint. The service was amazing. They have a Salsa bar. It has everything you need. The ambience was amazing, quiet, clean. They give you heaping portions for what you pay for. Very delightful! read more

I ordered a two taco combo plate w double rice. I get home to orange county. It's a damned beef burrito! Someone really screwed up! Beef was a little tough. Gristly. I hate beans...hence the request for double rice. Their salsas are watery. Only the Chipotle salsa was thick enough to pick up w a tortilla chip. I pulled pieces of the tortilla to create mini taco bites. The two sides of rice were super salty. So sad about my $14 wasted on a very disappointing meal! Boo hoo boo hoo But their tiny container of Pico de Gallo was delish. read more

I ordered 2 burritos de la casa. It was essentially an onion wrap. No rice or beans. Just chicken and onions in a tortilla with one strip of bell pepper. Practically inedible. Much better Mexican food nearby than this. read more

I tried this once like 15 years ago maybe longer haven't been back since their food is just mediocre. It's not even worth going into at all. It's very hard to find a decent Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles overall in general much less in the Palms area. But this particular place is just horrid. I would not recommend anyone to go and eat. read more

I never gave a restaurant review before but I had to with this restaurant. I went to the restaurant for the first time and ordered Crispy chicken taco combination plate and a bowl of soup last night. I got it to go and when I got home I noticed they forgot to give me the soup. The chicken taco was made with tortilla the kind you get from a box and tasteless and chicken was so dry. The food was so bad, I will never go this restaurant again. Bad food and bad service. read more

I've been coming to Taco Plus for years. Their menu is quite extensive - tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, taco salads, specialty plates, tortas, soups and more. They have recently started serving hamburgers as well. My favorites here are chicken quesadilla, shrimp plate and chicken burrito. Everything is freshly prepared and tastes amazing! Always! Food quality is great. Forgot to mention their albondigas soup. Omg! The best!!! Handmade traditional mexican soup with meatballs. Definitely recommend trying it! Just ask the server if they have it as it's soup of the day. There is street parking and there's also Vons parking nextdoor. Definitely recommend! read more

Ugh, sorry but this place gives L.A. Mexican cuisine a bad name. If I get the feeling that I can cook a better taco than the restaurant I just dropped $35 at, then it's probably bad news. Decent portions would have been a plus, but the low quality of both the ingredients and food made even that a negative. Sampled each of the tacos - all over cooked, over or under flavored, and falling apart under stale tortillas. But the worst by far were the nachos, which were absolutely horrid - a big tub of sour cream, generic canned beans and a disgustingly thick slab of the waxiest, greasiest jack cheese you could imagine- I tried unsuccessfully scraping this monstrosity off before tossing the entire container altogether. This place would be mediocre if it were being served at a truck stop in Iowa. Do yourself a favor and skip Taco "plus". read more

I'm very confused. People on YELP rave about this place so I went in with high expectations and was disappointed. Service was solid. The lady let us sample the carne asada before we committed and it was tasty. Too bad what they actually serve you tastes old and cheap. Tacos were flimsy, soggy and kinda lacking in taste. My meat was packed but what's the point when it tastes like rubber? Corn was probably straight from the can. I didn't even try it. I gave that away and the new owner thought they were tasteless. Salad was full of iceberg lettuce. I'm not a real fan. Will not be back. This isn't the spot. read more

Don't ever, ever order from here if you're looking for proper LA Mexican food. The ingredients are of such poor quality there isn't a lot that any level of preparation is going to fix. The carne asada taco was made from meat that had the interesting distinction of being both gritty and tough, and unfortunately, neither the overly sweet red salsa or the watery green salsa improved the taste or texture. The shrimp taco was held back from a complete lack of taste by the bit of lime squeezed on before the taco was wrapped up. The guacamole is a healthy sized portion, but whatever lime was skimped on for the tacos is added in excess to the avocados (which might be covering up for the fact that the avocados are pretty old & slimy)...so be ready for a limey, slimy guac. Honestly, any food truck taco is better than spending your money here. read more

Ordered at Taco Plus for the first time today. Restaurant had 2 other customers besides myself. I ordered a shrimp burrito and 2 tacos de carnitas. The tacos were okay, rather bland and required lime and salsa to be just okay. The burrito was huge but was extremely lacking in flavor and barely had any shrimp in it. I tore apart the tortilla and found it was 70% lettuce and cabbage, 20% tomato and 10% shrimp. The side dish, mexican rice, was also bland. The best part of the meal was the chips we got with our order. As a native Angelino with Mexican and Peruvian background, I was disappointed. I regret not taking out cash to walk 2 minutes and order my food from the taco stand down the street. Edit: I forgot to mention that my burrito was cold by the time I got to eat it. My apartment is only a 5 min walk away. read more

Been to this particular location several times before. I always get the Burrito Gigante Mojado (chicken or sometimes carnitas.) I call my order in and by the time I get there it's ready for pickup. Place is on the smaller side but is always having customers picking up or delivery drivers picking up deliveries... I have never had problems with the service, people nor the cleanliness of the place. Would recommend if you are order to go or for pickup... that's all I can say, I have not ordered to eat in service. read more

I am a fan of Taco plus! The food is always good no matter what I order, and its always clean with friendly staff. I always order the chicken quesadilla since its my goto order. Here it comes out nice and big, with good quality chicken, and with guac and sour cream... its delicious!!! The food is priced well and comes out quick. The staff is always nice and I never have to worry about what I order. The toppings bar always seems fresh and well stocked. Is this place fancy, no. Is it exotic, no. Is it trendy, no. Are used to live near the one in Santa Monica over off of Bundy and that was always solid for healthy and fresh Mexican food, but this one is even better, because they have a nice outdoor patio, instead of the sidewalk in a 7-Eleven parking lot! This is our favorite Mexican food to bring home. Love the guacamole and pico de gallo. My favorite are the soft taco plate with rice and beans. My mom always has the chicken taqueria. Many places don't sell them anymore. The burritos with carne, rice, and beans are my kids favorite. They really make their customers happy. read more

Taco Plus is one of those places you can count on for any of your favorite Mexican dishes. From tacos to menudo to ceviche you can get it ready to go in minutes. My usual standard is Carne Asada & Eggs breakfast $8.95. Carne Asada Tacos $8.95. Taquitos De Pollo $7.75. All with the side of Rice & Beans (they put cheese on the beans, I don't do dairy, so I have to remember to say 'no cheese') I like the salsa bar and sometimes they serve watermelon slices. They also have Menudo everyday, a good portion with 5 tortillas $8.50. There is also self-serve drink machine and Horchata, Jamaica, Tamarindo, Orange Bang. The prices are reasonable, the food is good and they are open until 10:00 pm. I go there often! read more

Alright. Im glad people aren't afraid to hurt peoples feelings here. Burritos are bland as hell. I can tell even with the "mojado" style it didn't do much. Salsa bar is greaat..... for Tex mex restaurant. Who tf decided to just put scallions there? Tf? I've tried the asada plate and chicken plate. They were horrible. Beans were stale. I can tell they're days old and just reheated. What did it with me is the ownEr was there. And he was jusT being a whinny b*tch to his employees. Does he not know how labor and cost work? Walking in you're shown many awards, culminating in a 2025 Michelin. There must have been a special occasion to be welcomed by music that was incredibly loud. We sat down, and I couldn't hear myself think, or the waiters voices. We asked for another table, but unfortunately that brought a certain type of attitude from the host. I'm sure the music would have been nice if it wasn't as loud, on amplified speakers. After finally being seated, near the bar, the service seemed great. Seating seemed plentiful, but I can now see why a reservation is necessary. To start, the appetizer we chose was a queso fundido which was ok on their smaller tortillas. I must have been spoiled by Chalio's homemade giant tortillas. Chalio's on Atlantic by the way. Guelageutza uses sautéed mushrooms, and they garnished it with this guacamole that didn't really taste that good. Mushrooms on the fundido didn't seem right, but individually they tasted great. The chorizo was ok. My gf likes to try those types of apps. They're not known for that, so I can let it pass. Our order was taken, food was quick, and hot. The attentiveness of the staff was good, but their smiles were absent. Must have had a long day. I got the black Mole chicken, my gf got the enchilada negras(black mole) topped with their tesajo. My dish was good, hot, and full of mole, which was delicious as well. They served it with their tiny homemade corn tortillas. They have several types of mole. My gf got the enchiladas Oaxaceñas and it looked good until I took a bite of the enchiladas. They just poured mole over the tortillas and that's where the flavor went flat. The tortillas were dry and not dipped in the sauce. Traditionally in my family, we fry our tortillas lightly in oil, or lard, and roll them in the sauce. My gf didn't even finish them. I ate all of my meal, and I took her enchiladas home. They were even worse as leftovers. I tried to order their traditional flan, but they had ran out, so I ordered their tres leches. It was ok. I was really disappointed that they ran out of flan though. All in all, this establishment was ok. The atmosphere seemed very manufactured, but I've never had the pleasure of visiting Oaxaca. The mole negro was delicious on the chicken. Seeing that It was recommended on Yelp, I agreed with the statement of picking that dish. The bathrooms were great with a good amount of stalls. I can't say that about a lot of good delicious Mexican food restaurants here in LA. They seem to be more of an afterthought with some. Reminding myself this was Michelin rated restaurant, I didn't get that same feeling with the food though. This now, will give me an excuse to look into why a restaurant is rated as such to understand why that matters so much.

Hollenbeck was good but I definitely enjoyed the Okie burrito more, I ordered the "original" size once and didn't seem to learn my lesson the second time, these burritos can feed two in Original size. They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.

I have tried a lot of the ceviche and the roasted fish. If you like churros, please get them... I tried them for the first time after a friend told me they were the best they had, and he was not wrong. It was not overly sweet and the chocolate was semi-sweet which was perfect.
