I live just a few blocks down from this place. Food is always very fresh. Very nice and clean inside and out on the patio as well. I always get the carne asada plate, for about $8, you get a lot of food. the plate comes with bag of chips, 4 tortillas, 2 sides, and the stir fried carne asada with onions and green and red peppers. I usually get the rice and corn on the side, sometimes i'll opt for a side salad if i decide to eat healthy. I'm quite a eater, and I always have to stuff myself in order to finish the plate, so that tells you about the portion. This is for the Bundy Drive location (near the southern corner of Santa Monica Boulevard). My friend loves the taco plate and I love the quesadilla. It is the best quesadilla I have ever eaten anywhere here in L. A. Here's why: I Love Cheese & lots of it, theirs is huge, loaded with it and even oozes out alongg the edges as they cook it. You can ask them to cook it really well and the cheese sort of carmelizes along the edge and adds a light crisp ( if they cook it that long). But no matter how they cook it, it's always very tasty. Tried it with the veggies- great too. Tried it with the carnitas - super yummy too. I use the real hot salsa sometimes for that extra zing. This isn't a date place, more like a grab n eat or take out. The Albondigas soup is to die for. Warning: parking is difficult but you can park in the big lot across the street. read more

Well this place used to be fair to good but with the weird lunch specials it falls to a poor rating... so this is what the woman at the registrar tried to explain... the special plates are from 3pm to 6pm they are full price with a 20% discount but they do not come with the drink that is featured on the special plate... Taco plus is pretty awesome because the employees are nice, give plenty of salsa and chips, place is very clean, and it tastes healthy and good. Best salsa bar by far compared to any mexican place. Rather come here than el pollo loco for flamebroiled chicken and I think overall its better than titos. Unless I have to have the titos taco with cheese I would rather eat here. Came here for a late night dinner after flipping a coin between here and another taco/mexican place. Overall ok food that was served rather quickly. The carne asada burrito I had was decent, but it was not worth the $1.25 to have it wet. Most places serve wet burritos with something akin to an enchillada sauce. However, theres was more of a tomato based sauce that simply didn't do it for me. I really want to give this place with a better rating, but I really can't because of the lack of the quality of food. I've driven by this place so many times, on my way in and out of Starbucks, or getting groceries at Vons (an adjacent location). I ordered some food to go for dinner--2 carne asada tacos, 1 carne asada burrito, and a tostada. Can't remember how much I paid for the entire order, but in all honesty, I felt that the meat in both the tacos and burrito tasted super dry--there's a lack of seasoning, and flavor. I had to put some Tapatio and pico de gallo just to add some flavor on my own. I've had a much better experience at other Mexican restaurants. If you're looking for a much better tasting burrito, save your money, and head to either Chipotle, or Titos Tacos. It's not only a much better deal, but much better tasting menu. This place get my official WOW badge! I cannot express how much I LOVE this place. I had the privilege of living right down the street from them. Now I live in down town LA. I love this place so much I still make an effort to make the drive there at least 3 time a week. Mexican food is my favorite food. The warm spices, meat and traditions is what wows me and taco plus has nailed it. I used to love to go to your typical places like Baja Fresh and Poquito Mas, and then I discovered Taco Plus. First off ALL ingredients are FRESH!!! They believe in HEALTHY cooking. Although Mexican food is amazing, unfortunately one usually has to suffer the consequences of the high fat intake. At taco plus your senses will ALWAYS be satisfied, and you will find comfort in knowing that your actually eating healthy. Try their carne azada tacos. Best prepared carne Azada you can find. not overly salty or peppered. you can actually taste the sweetness carne azada is supposed to have. Anyhow EVERYONE has to try this place. I am a triathlete and eat here almost everyday and have not gained one extra bad pound. It fuels my body with healthy nourishing protiens, complex carbs and even fresh veggies. You can get any of their burritos naked style. My favorite is the california burrito with grilled shrimp and black beans naked style. such a huge portion that i have to take it home. I just cant believe that I pretty much get two healthy tasty meals for under 13 dollars. Now where else can you do that. One last thing. I have to say that every time I eat at Taco Plus I leave well satisfied! I travel quite a bit and I know where to go for great Mexican food when I come into town. That Pozole soup is the bomb!! Taco Plus or Taco Minus? I love this place, it should get five stars alone for having my favorite drink of all time, ORANGE BANG! They have awesome breakfasts (try the huevos rancheros) however, they don't open until later. Their prices are reasonable, the food quality is a step above Baja Fresh and a step below chipotle. The location has a ton if parking both street and lot. They accept credit cards. It takes a little while for your food to get cooked but you can call ahead. They are always really nice, the service is great. Could be the best food in the area. Taco plus is not Taco Minus, I'll be back for sure, keep the Orange Bang Bangin'!!! read more

It's good, cheap, and clean. I've had the taco combos, breakfast burritos, abondigas, and wet veggie burrito. Every time I was satisfied with the food and service. The only thing I can't recommend is their rice--I think they use a short grain rice? Anyway, it is kind of bland and the texture is off. But everything else is good, and the portions are very generous. You could easily split a meal or burrito between two people. The people there are always nice, and service is quick as can be. pulled off freeway to find this place while travelling to Santa Monica. No one in the place. Food was decent and for the price you definitely get your money's worth. I got a combo that came with drink and chips. FIesta combo, 1 soft taco(I had pastor) a mini quesadilla and a chicken taquito. Came with your choice of sides I had rice and refried pinto beans. Beans were great. Probably skip sides cuz food was too much to finish. My hubby got a picadillo plate and also had a hard time finishing it all. The salsa bar was great. Fast service. read more
