Was at a charity event in San Marino ordered single smash cheeseburger it took a long time to make but when finally ready about half hour it was very delicious. It had some heat i was t expecting but luckily i can eat spicy hot. $10

Very kind staff and a neat large patio seating, feels like a park, it's all kept clean. I enjoyed he chopped cheese and the crispy tater tots, although the chopped cheese and burger were pretty decent.

Solid burger spot over in Eagle Rock. Parking is street on Colorado Blvd. Came here on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. You order on the inside of the small building and eat in the adjacent outdoor, tented patio where there's a decent amount of seating. Restroom is on-site and it's very clean. There isn't a lot on the menu. Basically just burgers, hot dogs and tater tots. Sometimes that's a good thing. Ordered the following: - Double - 7.5/10: really solid burger. Well-seasoned smashed patties, buttery-toasted bun, and evenly balanced veggies inside. Even had bits of yellow peppers that gave it some heat. I liked that they didn't use the regular tarty burger sauce that everyone else uses on their smashburgers. Very tasty. - Tater tots - 8/10: they give you lots of these and can be easily be shared between two people. Very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Definitely not grocery-store bought. No fountain sodas here, only cans and bottles. Prices are fair for what you're getting. Very solid spot. Would definitely come back, especially for the tots.

I liked it. Solid burger spot. No inside seating but there's a large covered patio area with picnic tables. Got the double, loved the crispy bits at the edges. Decent sized burger. Also got the hotdog, it was ok, but I think you can skip it. The tots were good, nice seasoning. Would definitely come back for that burger. Service was good. Friendly staff. There's a small lot in back or there's street parking but you might have to walk a block or two.

A smash burger with great balance. Once a pop-up stand, and now an excellent premium joint to get your burger fix. One of the many things wrong with smash burgers is the lack of the actual burger, as all the juices are stripped away, and all you really taste is crispy meat and an excess of cheese. Yellow Paper does a good job in maintaining a good burger with texture, with a balance complemented with a touch of spice/heat with the added chilies. The double is the choice, unless you're just not hungry. Their hot dog is above average with a snap. Tater Tots give those nostalgic feelings and are a good alternative to fries. Cokes are a hefty $4 a bottle, but there is beer available. All seating is outdoor, and knowing the neighborhood, it is also dog-friendly.

If I'm craving a burger and in the Eagle Rock area, I'm going to stop here to eat. We ordered single burgers, some tots and ronch, and a coke. Their burgers are very good and have a touch of heat which you don't expect but I enjoyed it. Also, the only smash burger I've had that is served with lettuce and all the fixins on top. The tots are very flavorful and seasoned well but can be a tad salty. Nice, shaded outside area with a variety of tables, Staff is always super friendly and outgoing. Next time I will need to try their hand pie!

Orange wine, tots and a single burger.

Finally tried Yellow Paper. Ordered single, tots, and orange wine -- what is that?! The staff was super friendly and informative. I asked about the wine and they had Rose and Orange. What is that?! But they let me try it and it was tasty. I was glad to learn that they had parking out back because I am returning. The burger was delicious and the tots -- well everyone has written about those. DELICIOUS. I asked if they could be extra crispy and they said sure. I also asked for raw onions -- no problema! Yum. There were some folks at another table and we started talking about the dodger. They had two young children -- super friendly. I enjoyed the entire experience. Thank you Yellow Paper!

Smash that burger! The first time I went here, the burger was so good that even my 10-month-old baby loved it and couldn't stop eating. We ordered a double burger and a kids' burger. I loved the tater tots they were well-seasoned, super crispy, and served fresh and hot. I seriously loved them! On our second visit, we ordered the same items but asked for no chili in the burger. It was still tasty. However, the patty in the kids' burger was overcooked and too crispy, so my 1-year-old couldn't chew it. He ended up just eating the bread. That day, the place was crazy busy we didn't mind waiting 30 minutes. But I was disappointed with the lack of consistency. At least the tater tots were still served hot and delicious.

Super Cool Spot. Super Chill Vibe. I've been having my eye on this spot for a min, maybe too long. Unfortunately at the time in their early days hours didn't mesh with mine. Today was a Great Day! So I decided to just get in the car and head out to Eagle Rock.m, Let Fate guide me. And it Did! Yellow Paper Burger is kinda Awesome. Like in the Dope sense. No nonsense and clean. The Burger was Dope! Delicious. Hot and Freshly made OG style. I'm a new fan. The service was amazing, Smiles and Good Energy everywhere. I'm in and out of the area but they have an adorable outdoor seating area off the sidewalk behind a fence that's is really Sweet. Spacious enough that it affords pet owners room to bring their Furries. I will return!!! I'm making my first visit 3:30PM on a Friday in January and it's Lovely- OG Stylie. Love the Music and the "Vibe". Solid Spot. Annnnnd on Route 66.

I saw this place on the way to yoga and was curious. I was craving a burger one day so I stopped by. I appreciated the parking in the back, the lot is small but I was easily able to find a spot Saturday afternoon. Inside is tiny. The door you see on the street is actually the exit! You enter on the backside. It's a vibe tho. I was honestly surprised at how many employees were there. 2 in the front and 3, maybe 4 in the kitchen area. Fun music, cashier was really sweet. I appreciate the simplicity of their menu. I was intrigued by ronch, $1's pretty low stakes, so I did that with a double. Cute seating area if you choose to stay. It was a warm day so I got it to go. I'm not a stranger to the smashburger phenomenon, this one was fine, just not great or something I'd crave. I asked about the chilies put on it and was told they were hot, so I omitted them, but I can't imagine hot chilis making this a 5 star burger. It was mid. The ronch wasn't bad. The meat was seasoned so it wasn't that, it just wasn't 5 star worthy. A lot seem to like it so I may be in the minority on this but imho a smash has to have some kind of pull. Overly flavorful meat, a fun sauce with pizzazz, delicious bread to encapsulate the goodness. Something to stand out. This wasn't that. Wasn't bad by any stretch. I was satiated, but to the point of like ya, I ate. Not omg that was the best! That being said I do love supporting local, so don't go by me. I need big flavors or something stand out in this setting, this may be that for you. Buen provecho.

Some of the best things are born out of necessity and others through evolution...but what happens when something born of necessity evolves? You get Yellow Paper Burger. Started as a pop up during the lockdowns, their white van, canopy, and fold up tables now have roots in Eagle Rock, on that eclectic stretch of Colorado Boulevard. Yellow Paper Burger 1.0 was punk rock and Michelin quality all rolled into one. So what happens when the anti-establishment gets established? Thankfully, it's more of the same. There's always a fear that when things change, they might not always be for the better, but I'm glad to say they've kept the vibes going in the new spot. In some ways the new spot is too clean...a lot of white counter tops and walls...a little bit sterile, but it also evokes classic burger stand motifs. While it lacks the grittiness of their dive bar/brewery/side of the road set ups of the past, it is made up with a great collection of characters behind the counter and of course the menu remains mostly untouched. With all the smash burger spots popping up, what separates Yellow Paper from the rest? Simplicity. It's just a well seasoned patty (or two) that's just the right crispiness on the edges, perfectly melted American cheese, some freshly chopped veggies, a little bit of mayo on a soft toasted potato bun, some pickles, chopped yellow chilis for a bit of a kick, and of course, wrapped in yellow paper. There's no secret sauce to overpower the other flavors. It's not a vehicle to deliver you onion mush or truffles or whatever else doesn't belong on a classic burger. While an avocado or bacon might be great on this, it doesn't need it. That's what makes it great. It's a burger that's a burger. If there is one complaint I have about the move to the brick & mortar...the burgers kinda don't taste as good. I mean, this is still one of the best burgers you can get in the city, but there's some drop-off from the last time I had these burgers in the wild. I think it's just a matter of seasoning their new flat top so I guess that means coming back more often. The one aspect they've kept from their rock and roll days is the outside patio. It may be a huge drawback on that day or two it rains in LA, but there's no indoor or covered seating...but the patio is a great place to enjoy a drink, a burger, and some of the other things on their menu. The pickled egg is an amazing little snack. They reuse the brine from the yellow chilis and it gives the egg this nice yellow tinge on the outside. Served with some chips and a hit of salt and pepper, it's tangy, salty, and if it wasn't 5 bucks an egg, completely crave-able. The hand pies are also another reason to come here. I believe the fillings change with what's in season. Apple is the usual go to, but I've had berry and I think peach was an option at some point too. No matter the filling, it's the flaky crust that makes it great. It helps that one of the co-founders was an executive pastry chef. Yellow Paper may be relatively new, but it already feels like a classic. Get a double, a hand pie, a cold one...sit outside and enjoy the sunshine.

Awesome vibes, friendly service. I could tell the ingredients they use are all high quality. The burger just isn't for me though. It's too salty and on the spicy side. I paid $28 for a double burger and an apple hand pie - quite expensive. The apple hand pie was totally awesome, but I'd recommend that they warm it up first.

It's awesome to watch good people who make good food succeed and these dudes crush it. The crew knocked it out of the park and they make you feel good when you walk in! Shoutout to Terry! The burgers and dogs are a home run and the outdoor patio rules! It's great to go from chasing yall at pop-ups to having a place to go anytime! Keep it up! It's going to be a hot boy(dog) summer!

So, on our way home from spending the morning in Pasadena, we stopped in for a late lunch. It wasn't too busy when we arrived with a couple available parking spots right in front. The team member at the register was friendly and helpful as he answered our questions. Given our mutual love for pastrami, we decided to begin our experience with both versions -- House and Oinkster with chili fries to share. We were given a number, then got ourselves seated. Our order arrived just a few minutes later. Both pastrami sandwiches were pretty solid -- fresh and tasty. We can't say it's our favorite, compared to others we've had, but well prepared overall. I enjoyed the caramelized onions and red cabbage coleslaw in the Oinkster. The husband is a fan of the small container of horseradish mustard that comes with it. The chili fries were ok.
