Had a great time at Taco Shore yesterday for 3 of my cousins' bdays! We went around 11am on a Saturday for brunch. They have bottomless mimosas for $11 with the purchase of food, great deal! When we arrived it wasn't very busy and we were able to seat ourselves. We had a big group of 14 so they did help us arrange the tables outside to fit our group. Our waitress was nice, funny, and always made sure we had champagne in our glasses! They give you glasses of champagne and then they have 3 different juices you can choose from to make a mimosa, they gave us cranberry, orange, and pineapple juice. The food impressed me as well! It was good and huge! Most of us had trouble finishing our food because it was a lot. Plus they give you chips and salsa so we also had that before our meals. I ordered the 3 taco plate with a fish taco, Al pastor, and a asada taco that had beans and melted cheese in it - all 3 were good! The asada was my favorite and the fish was actually my least favorite. I got to try their flautas which were really tasty, and you get to choose from different meat options, we did 2 shredded chicken, a shredded beef, and potato. I really like the potato one! The ceviche cup was good as well and their beans that I tried from someone who ordered enchiladas. Other people ordered the chilaquiles and various burritos, the burritos were huge! I've been here a few times but I believe they changed their name. Anyway, I always order the seafood bowl, and I have never been disappointed. I can say that I was very impressed on my last visit a couple weeks ago. I ordered the seafood bowl and it was larger, and had shrimp and included chunks of fresh fish with beans and rice options. I love the black beans and cilantro, lime, rice option. Super delicious!!! The orange sauce that they give you on the side has a great flavor flavor! I would order this bowl over and over again. They also have good chips and salsa. The location is on 2nd Street, which is near many other restaurants, but this one is very chill and laid-back. Early one Sunday every table was filled, even the bar, many have refill after refill of wine and maybe juice. Yet only two staff were on hand. Sofie and Chema provided excellent service to all. We were saying you can always tell if the chips n salsa are bomb - the food just be too. Sadly, I wasn't that impressed. I've had better Mexican food. Chile rellano was ok. Enchiladas were decent. Burritos - nothing special for me. I totally took a bite if everyone's - wasn't feeling it. The Flautas looked amazing but was kind of over cooked. Too bad - those were my fave! More of a drunk munchies kind of place. The salsa is watery, the chips were stale and service is very slow. My margarita was at the bar for 20 minutes before my friend went and grabbed it for me, not my server. I won't ever be back. Save your money, there's plenty of delicious Mexican elsewhere read more

This is one of our favorite places to go in Belmont shore! The cocktails are great and we have loved every dish we ordered. The portions are huge and food is always fresh and delicious. The service is great - they make you feel like you're family when you're there! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT, YOU'VE BEEN WARNED Went in for a taco but saw they had 2 Chili Relleno combo on the menu. I chose all beans no rice. It did not look appealing and the taste was the same. Disgusting, the sauce on the Rellenos had no flavor, like a can of tomato sauce poured over it, bean eh alright. Nothing to write home about. I had maybe 3-4 bites of the CR and stopped as the tomato sauce made it inedible. 2 bites of beans and had enough. Push the plate away from me. The server asked and I told him it was bland and no flavor, he suggested that he could get some hot sauce, yeah no thanks. If you can't make a proper sauce why should I add hot sauce? My friend ordered the Bloody Maria, I asked her if it was good and she hesitantly said yes as the server was standing there. Although she actually did not like it and only drank 1/4 of the drink. I told the server we were done and did not offer to take the meal off the tab. Spent over $28 for the two items. Not including the tip. Definitely not going back even if there was a free meal. Sticking to Super Mex, they know Mexican food. BTW I'm a Californian native and know Mexican food as I grew up with it, Taco Shore is not Mexican, washed down mediocre food. I've been coming to Taco Shore (formerly Taco Surf) for years and I try to stop by when I am in Long Beach. Over the years, there have been redesigns in the dining room setup, and it finally feels like there is enough room to accommodate lots of people, without being crowded. I appreciate that. I know the price of almost everything went up, so I spent way more on this meal now than ever. The portions are good, but a tad bit pricey- $15. Tacos are about $6-7 each, but that won't scare me away. I'm sure inflation has affected these prices, so I can't fault on that. The food itself has always been consistently delicious, as I almost always order the chicken bowl. I was super excited that Jamaica was added to the menu, because it is my favorite agua fresca. I'm very picky when it comes to Jamaica- and Taco Shore's Jamaica was so tasty! AND- they allow a free refill, which most spots don't usually apply to aguas frescas. It works out to be the perfect amount for your meal & possibly a to-go drink. Absolutely recommend it if you are a Jamaica lover. Was here 1/4/25. I wish I would've got the guys name, I feel he's the owner (his son and daughter also work there), anyway he had a cough. He was coughing in his hands, not sanitizing, and still serving people. Touching plates and he touched the rim of my drink (before I saw him cough in his hands). I used to love their Taco Al Pastor but now its just okay. A little lack in flavor. The Ensenada Shrimp taco had too much on the tortilla. It had cheese melted on the tortilla, another type of cheese, roasted bell peppers and onions, shrimp, and guac. I really like the amount of shrimp but it was too much and the flavors did not match up. I actually felt sick after eating the shrimp taco. I don't know what but it could have been the cheese. Before meal: Sunday Funday going down!! Just ordered the chicken flautas and a carne asada burrito. Michelada with chips and salsa are winning right now as we sit on the outdoor patio. I just checked in and got an offer for 10% off. Food review to follow! After meal: Chicken flautas came out first. They were perfect and lightly crisp. Loved it. Next was the chimichanga carne asada burrito. Comes with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes and sour cream on the side. I was a little puzzled when I saw the thick shredded cheese on top. I tried to make the best of it and cut my burrito in half and stuffed some cheese in to make it melt. It didn't happen as well as I wanted it to. I cut into the burrito and thought it was just a bean burrito because I didn't see any meat. I cut the burrito in 4's and finally noticed that the little meat that was put in was rolled into the middle surrounded by ALOT of refried beans. I finished a quarter of it. My michelada came in a schooner. I noticed there was a hair strand on the side of the glass. I wasn't grossed out about it until I pulled it off and noticed it was under the tajin rim. I know things happen and staff is moving fast to get orders out, but more mindfulness would be good. With all the mishaps aside, the food was good. The kicker was when we got our bill and I told the server that I got the 10% off offer through Yelp but when I opened it, it showed that I used it already. He had the manager come to our table and I showed him the offer. He said it was only for weekdays which was weird because the offer specifically states that it's not offered for taco Tuesday, Thursday, happy hour or drinks. Nowhere did it say not valid on weekends. Not ruling this place out but it will be some time until we come here again. read more

Hired Taco Shore to cater our party. So glad I did! Our guest were very impressed with the food, all the options that were offered. We had a taco cart that served tacos, burritos, nachos and quesadillas. There was a choice of Beef, chicken, pork or fish, and everyone found something they liked. The guys showed up an hour ahead of dinner service and were ready to serve in plenty of time. Both guys treated our guest with respect and professionalism. If you want guacamole, I'd recommend ordering the 2 oz. It's $2.50, and in my opinion, the perfect amount for one person. They also charge you if you get more than one refill, which I think is kind of ridiculous. Drink is $3.50 but you're not allowed more than one refill unless you pay. read more

The food and customer service is amazing! My wife and I have gone a couple times for their Happy Hour which goes until 5 pm. You can get street tacos for $2.00 a piece with an assortment of meats. My favorite are the Carnitas tacos. They all come with your standard street taco toppings of cilantro and onion. They are really good. I think I had 4 last time! If you get the regular menu tacos just note that they are much bigger and come with more toppings. I'm not a drinker but the thing I do enjoy is the Non Alcoholic Corona with my meal. The ambiance is nice, small but you have a choice of outdoor dining or inside there are several tables and a long counter area. The service is excellent and they give the table free chips and salsa. Okay, finally tried this placed tonight (delivery). Wife and kid had previously loved their meal and raved about it. They got me the beef (steak) Fajitas. Since it is a takeout, you would think they would sear it or grill it to add flavor. They didn't . The steaks were cut so think (thicker than my thumb) and cooked well done. We were visiting from Colorado. I was very disappointed. We can get better Mexican food in CO (further from Mexico). Our server was very kind, so she was the redeeming quality of this experience. When she saw us dousing the burrito in el Tapatio to give it some flavor she brought over some habanero sauce which helped A LOT. We split a burrito, it was HUGE, so I'll give them credit for that. But I have never had a more bland burrito in my life. Barely any flavor, no spiceyness whatsoever. Even the salsa they provided with their chips and salsa was super watery and didn't taste like much. I can't say much for their guacamole either. Over all, key word for this meal was bland. Even our margaritas, though they were very large, we're super weak. My review is for the Taco Bus Company which is affiliated with Taco Shore, they do mobile catering. This past 4th of July weekend I was at a party that was catered by the VW Taco Bus folks. The food was very good, my favorite tacos were the Asada and Pescado. They also have chicken and carnitas... truth be told, there is no bad choice. They make delicious street tacos and have plenty of extra toppings. I also got a side of rice and beans and chips. I found the guys to be super friendly and the food was really good. Our group of family and friends have used Taco Shore catering services with the unique VW van multiple times. The food is GREAT! They have so many options and it's always a hit for guests at the party. Prices are incredibly reasonable given the quality of food and the stellar service. The gentlemen who served at our most recent party were so kind, upbeat, and personable. They arrived ahead of time to set up and they provided me with any leftovers (although I'll say the food is so great, there wasn't much left!). Jenny is the main contact for catering. She is super responsive and answers all questions thoroughly. She even came by our event to make sure set up and start time were on point.
