The best fish tacos in the LA region! These guys used to be in downtown Long Beach, but I'm going to guess Covid shutdowns ran them out. Much harder to get to now that there's no Metro nearby, but still a must-have if you like fish tacos. The day I came down it was 100 in the Valley and 80 in Long Beach so a nice excuse to escape the heat too. The only small downside is their salsa is a little watery. read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Long Beach. It never disappoints! We always get the El Jefe margaritas, and let me tell you, one is enough! They are so good. Some of our favorite menu items are: the Pipeline Burrito w/asada, the Spicy Ramon Burrito (amazing), the Tostado w/chicken and the Reina Salad is really good, too. We have moved away from Long Beach, but when we visit, we never miss the chance to go to Taco Beach. The service is also the best! read more

Service was very good, the remodel they did looks great. I like the vibe and the ambiance of you just want a cold beer and watch a game and have some snacks. But as far as the main entrée they are very poor quality and flavor. And honestly it's not that hard to make tacos or enchiladas etc. so you gotta really be bad as a business if you can't produce a good taco or enchilada, they both tasted like a TV dinner quality. Came here for lunch with a friend.Only one other person in the restaurant now I know why especially when it was taco Tuesday! Music was WAY too loud we couldn't even carry on a conversation. My chicken Tinga taco might as well have not had any filling in it for the amount of chicken they gave you. We both got crispy beef tacos. They were absolutely horrid not sure what they put in the meat, but it tasted awful The fried fish taco was way overcooked. Taco Beach never disappoints! Julio is our go to server and he is on point never missing a thing! My husband goes for the coldest beers in Long Beach and I go for the wings, but honestly, their entire menu is really good. Delicious! Not a bad spot. Open floor plan, clean, and very fast service. Parking is hard in the small lot that they have, so we parked on the street. On Taco Tuesday they have some great food and drink specials. The place was full of other patrons, so they must be doing something right. Tacos were ok. Not particularly flavorful or large in size. I think they are good fodder to have while drinking, but nothing I would go out of my way to order again. They were not particularly discounted either, but they did offer fish and shrimp options, so it all balanced out. This is a little spot on the corner street. They have decent parking and a nice little outside patio to sit at. Service was great since there weren't that many people there and our waitress was very friendly. Came here on a date on a Thursday evening and ordered the Carne Asada and El Pastore combo plate that came with rice and beans. Rice and beans were decent. The tacos were on point--simple, flavorful, and just what I wanted. No fuss, just the kind of food that hits the spot. I didn't go too crazy with the menu, but everything coming out of the kitchen looked solid. The bar was moving, and the margaritas were crisp and clean. I even spotted a bottle of AsomBroso behind the counter. I love seeing places that know what they're pouring. What really stood out, though, was the team running the place. We were so happy to bring our friends from out of town to visit our beloved Taco Beach. We have loved this place for a long, long time. Never have we ever regretted bringing friends somewhere so massively. It was absolutely awful. Everything from the restrooms being disgusting, both men and women's, to the awful, awful, inept service, to food that looked so inedible I simply pushed it aside and didn't even give it a chance. It was so gross. I don't think I've ever not even at least tasted food at a restaurant. It took forever to be given the opportunity to place our orders but even worse, after that, the food took over an hour to prepare. When we inquired about it, it didn't seem like the server related at all, to how unreasonable the wait had been. And when we asked if at least the kids could please get their food, his response left us wondering if he cared one iota about how terribly things were going. My husband kindly offered an "out" asking if they were understaffed. The server replied, "no, we just have a lot of orders coming in tonight". Wild. We've been there before when it's been even busier and we're just not clear as to what the issue was. Chips weren't refilled even after I'd politely asked. No attempts at making amends regarding the delays, etc. And honestly, the shrimp taco that was served was just terrible looking. Slimy, rubbery looking cheddar melted on top. No way. Came by myself for a quick lunch in between my classes and I got taco combo plate. I got the grilled mahi and Michoacán tacos. I thought that the mahi was really good. On the hand, the pork on the Michoacán was very tender but I would say it is a bit lacking in flavor. The service was really fast, and it is nice and bright inside--perfect for lunch. The atmosphere is upbeat. The food is always really good. The loaded fries and nachos are one of our favorites.

I really want to like taco beach. It's just up the street from my workplace, and they have a good happy hour special. But, their tacos are just kind of bland and average tasting. I got one fish taco that tasted like a fish stick in a tortilla with some shredded lettuce, and an al pastor taco that was very bland. The tacos at Hole Mole are better, but Taco Beach has a better sit down atmosphere to hang out with friends. I'll have to try other items before I give up. read more

Another walkable, close to my house joint that we frequent from time to time. They have ICY COLD beer *yum* and the food is pretty good. I enjoy sitting at a table by the open windows on a summer day with the breeze coming in. Sippin' on that icy cold goodness. Delish! They tunes are always bumping and they play the best station. 90's on 9 via Sirius XM. (I asked!) You'll love it too if you grew up in the 90's like it did. ;-) The only complaint I have if the owners are reading; it's past time to fix the outside sign. Update: Service is markedly improved as per the last 7 or 8 visits. Food is always consistent and terrific. My only complaint, going back to their first day open, is their Corona beer bottle salt and pepper shakers... the pepper shakers have holes entirely too small to function, so you have to pry the plastic cap off to get any pepper. I've brought this up for years... nothing has changed. STUPID business decision. I don't get it... just use an ice pick to make the holes big enough to make them functional. read more

The consomé, which is supposed to be a cup of the broth the meat was cooked in was this disgusting cup of pure oil. Like they straight up drained the oil from the fryer and served it. 3. My friend and I went there last night for Taco Tuesday. We each ordered 2 tacos from their little taco only menu. We also ordered a Seltzer to share. When the tacos arrived I instantly smelled something bad. I was like what is that smell?! I smelled my tacos and almost gagged. The cabbage must have been bad! I flagged a server down to tell them. He grabbed plate took it away and called our server over. She was so nonchalant and did not even apologize. We asked for our check and went across the street to eat!
