    Shrimp and Fish tacos

Decent tacos at a decent price. On Taco Tuesday, all tacos are $1.99. I had shrimp and fish tacos and while the tortillas were good, the fried shrimp and fish were dry. The salsa were just okay.

We decided to try Kique's on Cinco De Mayo since it was also taco Tuesday and it was busy (as expected). It's a small space with a couple tables inside and a few tables outside. It seems like most people order to go, which is what we did since there weren't tables available. We tried one of each taco except chicken. I would recommend the carne asada taco only. The al pastor, didn't taste like al pastor to me and the fish had a lot of breading. I will say second best was the fried shrimp taco because it had a crunchy texture. Overall, I would say this place is more hype and wasn't worth the long wait.

I saw a food influencer try Kique's Taqueria on Instagram, and the food looked so good that I decided to give it a try. I ordered food to go on a Friday night about an hour before closing, and they were really busy. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for our order. I tried their new fried quesadilla with chicken, jalapeño, and cheese. It was really tasty and kind of like a really thick empanada. I also had their fish taco, which I thought was just average. The fish was very thin, so I probably wouldn't order that again. I would definitely come back for the fried quesadilla, and next time I'd like to try the spinach ricotta one. Unfortunately, they were sold out when I went. The salsa bar had a nice variety of mild and spicy salsas, along with pickled onions, radish, lime, onions, and cilantro. I wish they also had pickled carrots and cucumbers. I also wish they had bigger containers for the salsa, they only had the tiny ones. They also didn't serve chips with the order, and I'm actually not sure if they even have chips at all. Customer service was good. The restaurant itself is tiny, with only a few tables available inside and outside.

Kique's Taqueria appears to be a small family restaurant. The format is fast casual. You step up to the counter and order. There is limited seating on site. Indoors, there are two tables which can each seat four, and one table which can seat two. Outside, they set up two additional tables, each capable of seating two. Regardless, the dining room is neat and reasonably comfortable. The furniture is nice. The menu is fairly simple; but it still provides a lot of choice. Pricing is very good for the portions received. On this occasion, I ordered: a carne asada burrito ($12.50); and a pastor quesadilla ($7.25). With tax of $2.07, my ticket was 21.82 before gratuity. This store offers a deep-fried quesadilla, but I ordered the standard grilled quesadilla. It had a generous amount of cheese and meat. The seasoning was nice. It was well worth the price. When I try a restaurant for the first time, I order the burrito "house style" (not customized). The burrito served was a good size. The ratio of beans, meat and other contents was good. The texture and flavor combination within was really good. I enjoyed my purchases. The portions were generous. More importantly, there is a nuanced flavor profile that makes the cooking here unique.

This Taco Joint went Viral on Social Media! Seen it on Instagram. I had to try it and see it for myself. $1.95 Taco Tuesday! This has got to be fake. Lol Parking was ridiculous since the hype on Social Media came out. Two lines in front of the door. One line to order and one line to get Salsa. Lines were long. My wife and I Doubled team the situation. She stood in line to order and I stood in line for the salsa. My wife ordered some carne asada tacos and a el pastor buritto. After she ordered, she found a table! How lucky she was. We waited about 20 minutes for our food, but it worked out since I was still in line to get some Salsa. After I waited in line to get salsa, our food was delivered! Yay. The Carne Asada tacos were fat for $1.95! The burritos was big! The quality of food in this Taqueria is exceptionally excellent! The food was fresh and tasted delicious. There is no hype! This is the real deal! It was worth the wait for my first visit. I will definitely be back, not for Tacos Tuesday but a regular day. I cant stand the crowd that is taking advantage of this deal! I cant afford to wait in line lol! But a serious note, one of the best tacos I have eaten. I am local, I have to say the best tacos I have eaten in the LBC. My search is over. No need to drive to Downtown LA, its in my backyard now, in the city of Long Beach. Great food and awesome customer service. Workers were very friendly and outgoing. Kudos. My new Favorit Mexican Taqueria spot!! Check it out. You won't be dissapointed. Thanks to the Blogger for noticing good food!

Great visit to Kique's! Ordered our usual, Asada tacos and quesadillas. Always a hit with the family! I absolutely love their salsa bar. Everything is so fresh and tasty! I found out today that most of their ingredients (Avocados, chilies, onions, fruits, and other veggies) come from their farm in Temecula. This is for bith Enrique's and Kique's. Farm to table! Very impressive especially with their reasonable prices. Huge fan of both restaurants!

Kique's is cool. They offer everything you'd like except it's a little different. I ordered 2 fish tacos ($4.25). They're topped with lettuce, pico de gallo + guac. I absolutely loved the flour tortillas, however, the fish not so much. It looked and tasted as if a large panko crusted fillet was repurposed into fish taco sized pieces. The fish tacos also don't come dressed up with any sort of sauce. I did ask for crema and the cilantro crema functioned as a really good binder to an otherwise very healthy fish taco. We also ordered a shrimp burrito ($12.95). They burritos come with refried beans, lettuce, and creamy cilantro. The shrimp burrito, in particular, also gets dressed with pico de gallo + guac. The refried beans were already a little surprising, but the warm lettuce was even more jarring to my tastebuds. It wasn't bad, but not what I was expecting. It's actually my bad for not reading the fine print. I'll be much more informed the next time I stop by for their Taco Tuesday.

Taco special with birria, Al pastor, and asada

I feel like it's hard to find a place nowadays with good quality food and good prices, but Kique's is just that! We've been long time Enrique's fans so it makes sense. There are three tables inside and two tables outside, a clean salsa bar with lots of offerings, and friendly staff. We got the three taco special with rice/beans/drink and got asada, al pastor, and birria. All three were great! We also got a fried shrimp taco, and the crunch is exactly what you want in a fried shrimp taco. I could have eaten three or four of those, includes fresh guac on top! And lastly, the chicken, cheese, jalapeño fried masa quesadilla. Pillowy, hot, delicious, and the cheese pull of your dreams. We can't wait to come back!!

Great mom and pop taco joint. I discovered them through a TikTok and wasn't disappointed. The tacos were delicious and on Tuesdays they have Taco Tuesday for $1.95 We also ordered something that was a little off menu - Quesadillas that were fried instead of grilled. These were really special and a highlight. The have three kinds - chicken cheese jalapeños, ricotta spinach tomato and a shrimp and cheese one. Would come back!

Taco Tuesday is the day!! This place has one of the best deals in town $1.95 per taco on taco Tuesday and they are absolutely delicious. Very fast service and a really cool place. Great vibes from everyone working there and it really gives a nice feeling to be in there. Definitely coming back almost every Tuesday now. See you soon!!

Wow! Taco Tuesday! The shrimp tacos are by far my favorite. The tacos are on the bigger side which makes this a great deal! They have a salsa bar so you can grab whatever your heart desires. We will be coming back a lot. I'm excited to try the torta next time. I recommend placing a phone order if you are getting it to go. The place is always pretty busy on taco Tuesday. The inside is small and the seating is limited.

This place is a hidden gem. The place is pretty small but the decor is awesome and the salsa bar is a huge win. The young lady who took my order was very polite and very enthusiastic. The food is priced fair and the portions are perfect. Honestly I do not have a single complaint on anything. I'll definitely be coming back again when I'm in the area.

First of all one of their workers with the mastche and tattoos is so cute which is always a plus for the ambiance. It didn't take long to get our food. About 5 minutes and they brought it out to where we sat since we dined in. First of all! You need to get an aguas fresca. We got the medium for the orange mango and the Jamaica. They are so natural. I'm a huge fan of artificial flavor so this was a huge shock, but it pairs so well with their food. My only regret isn't getting the large. For the food we got the burrito 2.0 asada and the chivichanga chicken. The burrito was great but very heavy on the beans. Make sure you get extra green salsa. It's their best and a perfect balance of salty with a hint of sweet. The red salsa gets spicy. If you can't handle hot Cheetos don't eat it. Now the chivichanga thing was perfect. It's so tiny but the fact it's about $5 was perfect. I have never had something so well priced and portioned before. The way I can describe it if you ever wanted to taste high class Taco Bell that will make you want four more then you need to try it. And I mean this in the best way possible. It's so cheesy and savory and yummy!!! Truly just from these two dishes we will be coming back to try the rest of the menu. Our next dishes is to try the tacos!

We ordered caramelos with the poblanos inside, as well as their horchata. Tortillas are some of the best I've had. Super soft and flavorful from the grill. The fillings and salsa were good too, but it was really wet, and the bean ratio especially compared to the meat, was a little off. Always am going to want more meat. Horchata was unique since it was coconut based. Overall solid spot with patient staff. Tacos La Rueda is still better, but will be back when in Long Beach.

We didn't necessarily have a great experience though. They messed up our order and we never got it fixed. We just happened to be there when there was a big party there too and it seemed like staff was a bit flustered. I told the workers about our order and they just forgot. We waited for over 15 min and when I went up to ask again, they realized they had forgotten about us and hadn't made our correct order so we decided to leave it and just go. Regardless of that hiccup, the staff were very friendly and they were apologetic about the situation. I would come back for sure and give it another try. The Boyle heights location has always been on top of it and I've never experienced a bad visit so I wouldn't say this location is bad off of one visit. The space is small and has inside and outside seating. We tried to eat outside but that bigger party took up a lot of the seats out there.
