My go to place for taco Tuesday!! My favorite is the carne asada tacos! Street style which is my go too. It comes naked and you can add all the fixings at the salsa bar. Great flavors and tortillas are made fresh there. Service is great , everyone is very nice and helpful. It's a very small location, a few tables inside and a few outside. First come first serve basis. You order and they bring out tacos to your table. They are pretty fast with delivery of your food whether you're dining in or taking out. read more

I've seen this pop up on my social media a few times now, saved it then my mom showed me a video a few days ago and reminded me about it. Me and my husband went for Taco Tuesday this week. Every taco is $1.99! All of the workers were very friendly!! They have a self serve salsa bar. The green one was tasty but as far as the food, sadly, we weren't impressed. The tacos and meat were bland to us. We also got 1 crispy quesadilla to share... it's not your normal quesadilla. It is made with masa and deep fried with cheese, jalapeño and chicken inside. It was quite greasy (yes, I know it was deep fried, but it was extra greasy, greasier than other fried foods I've had). The filling tasted decent though. It's a very small place with just a couple of tables. We ended up getting one but it does seem more like a take-out restaurant. read more

We had just tried Enrique's for the first time and loved it, so hearing that this restaurant was affiliated with them we decided to give it a shot as well. My boyfriend had seen the fried quesadilla on some food influencers Instagram post as well. All in all our party tried cheese, quesadilla, fried quesadilla with shrimp, birria tacos, chicken, tacos, and the Carne Asada burrito. The plain quesadillas were super oily. I couldn't really tell if it was grease from the melted cheese or if they grill it on a cooking surface that has an excessive amount of oil, but it took a lot of napkin blotting for my toddler to be willing to eat it. I got the chicken tacos and I'm not sure that they can genuinely be called chicken Asada. It literally tasted like chicken breast that had been salted and peppered and grilled up quickly and dryly and chopped into awkward shaped pieces put in there was no authentic flavors that you would expect for taco meat, especially Asada. I tried adding some cilantro, lime and salsa and that helped but I it still was not even remotely good. My teenage son got the birria (poor kid had some pretty high expectations after hearing our reviews about Enrique's the night before, and knowing that the two restaurants were affiliated) and said it was pretty weird and dried out. I don't know if that's because they use pork? I've never seen anyone serve pork birria. He said the beans and rice were disgusting and his food was all barely warm, which was weird because we ate there so we got it "fresh". My boyfriend had a fried quesadilla, and he was so excited to try it and took one bite and said he would never order that again. He said it was super grease filled. His burrito was square shaped, the Carne was very unfortunate meat that looked gray and gross, and again his food was not hot either. Overall, we were incredibly disappointed and would absolutely never go back or recommend it to anyone. I have no idea how it has as many incredible reviews as it does. I would rather get a chicken taco from El Pollo Loco. They definitely need some work on the customer service aspect as well. We decided to try Kique's on Cinco De Mayo since it was also taco Tuesday and it was busy (as expected). It's a small space with a couple tables inside and a few tables outside. It seems like most people order to go, which is what we did since there weren't tables available. We tried one of each taco except chicken. I would recommend the carne asada taco only. The al pastor, didn't taste like al pastor to me and the fish had a lot of breading. I will say second best was the fried shrimp taco because it had a crunchy texture. I saw a food influencer try Kique's Taqueria on Instagram, and the food looked so good that I decided to give it a try. I ordered food to go on a Friday night about an hour before closing, and they were really busy. I ended up waiting about 30 minutes for our order. I tried their new fried quesadilla with chicken, jalapeño, and cheese. It was really tasty and kind of like a really thick empanada. I also had their fish taco, which I thought was just average. The fish was very thin, so I probably wouldn't order that again. I would definitely come back for the fried quesadilla, and next time I'd like to try the spinach ricotta one. Unfortunately, they were sold out when I went. The salsa bar had a nice variety of mild and spicy salsas, along with pickled onions, radish, lime, onions, and cilantro. I wish they also had pickled carrots and cucumbers. I also wish they had bigger containers for the salsa, they only had the tiny ones. They also didn't serve chips with the order, and I'm actually not sure if they even have chips at all. Customer service was good. Kique's Taqueria appears to be a small family restaurant. The format is fast casual. You step up to the counter and order. There is limited seating on site. Indoors, there are two tables which can each seat four, and one table which can seat two. Outside, they set up two additional tables, each capable of seating two. Regardless, the dining room is neat and reasonably comfortable. The furniture is nice. The menu is fairly simple; but it still provides a lot of choice. Pricing is very good for the portions received. On this occasion, I ordered: a carne asada burrito ($12.50); and a pastor quesadilla ($7.25). With tax of $2.07, my ticket was 21.82 before gratuity. This store offers a deep-fried quesadilla, but I ordered the standard grilled quesadilla. It had a generous amount of cheese and meat. The seasoning was nice. It was well worth the price. When I try a restaurant for the first time, I order the burrito "house style" (not customized). The burrito served was a good size. The ratio of beans, meat and other contents was good. The texture and flavor combination within was really good. I enjoyed my purchases. The portions were generous. More importantly, there is a nuanced flavor profile that makes the cooking here unique. read more

This Taco Joint went Viral on Social Media! Seen it on Instagram. I had to try it and see it for myself. $1.95 Taco Tuesday! This has got to be fake. Lol Parking was ridiculous since the hype on Social Media came out. Two lines in front of the door. One line to order and one line to get Salsa. Lines were long. My wife and I Doubled team the situation. She stood in line to order and I stood in line for the salsa. My wife ordered some carne asada tacos and a el pastor buritto. After she ordered, she found a table! How lucky she was. We waited about 20 minutes for our food, but it worked out since I was still in line to get some Salsa. After I waited in line to get salsa, our food was delivered! Yay. The Carne Asada tacos were fat for $1.95! The burritos was big! The quality of food in this Taqueria is exceptionally excellent! The food was fresh and tasted delicious. There is no hype! This is the real deal! It was worth the wait for my first visit. I will definitely be back, not for Tacos Tuesday but a regular day. I cant stand the crowd that is taking advantage of this deal! I cant afford to wait in line lol! But a serious note, one of the best tacos I have eaten. I am local, I have to say the best tacos I have eaten in the LBC. My search is over. No need to drive to Downtown LA, its in my backyard now, in the city of Long Beach. Great visit to Kique's! Ordered our usual, Asada tacos and quesadillas. Always a hit with the family! I absolutely love their salsa bar. Everything is so fresh and tasty! I found out today that most of their ingredients (Avocados, chilies, onions, fruits, and other veggies) come from their farm in Temecula. This is for bith Enrique's and Kique's. Farm to table! Kique's is cool. They offer everything you'd like except it's a little different. I ordered 2 fish tacos ($4.25). They're topped with lettuce, pico de gallo + guac. I absolutely loved the flour tortillas, however, the fish not so much. It looked and tasted as if a large panko crusted fillet was repurposed into fish taco sized pieces. The fish tacos also don't come dressed up with any sort of sauce. I did ask for crema and the cilantro crema functioned as a really good binder to an otherwise very healthy fish taco. We also ordered a shrimp burrito ($12.95). They burritos come with refried beans, lettuce, and creamy cilantro. The shrimp burrito, in particular, also gets dressed with pico de gallo + guac. The refried beans were already a little surprising, but the warm lettuce was even more jarring to my tastebuds. It wasn't bad, but not what I was expecting. It's actually my bad for not reading the fine print. I'll be much more informed the next time I stop by for their Taco Tuesday. read more

I feel like it's hard to find a place nowadays with good quality food and good prices, but Kique's is just that! We've been long time Enrique's fans so it makes sense. There are three tables inside and two tables outside, a clean salsa bar with lots of offerings, and friendly staff. We got the three taco special with rice/beans/drink and got asada, al pastor, and birria. All three were great! We also got a fried shrimp taco, and the crunch is exactly what you want in a fried shrimp taco. I could have eaten three or four of those, includes fresh guac on top! The tacos were delicious and on Tuesdays they have Taco Tuesday for $1.95 We also ordered something that was a little off menu - Quesadillas that were fried instead of grilled. These guys are the restaurant owners of Enrique's Mexican Restaurant in Long Beach which is also top notch so i knew going into this the tacos would be just as good as their restaurant which is located next door. I got 3 of each, shrimp, el pastor and asada tacos for under 20 bucks which is a steal. Quality is on point and lots with flavor in every bit. I loved every bit of my meal. I would highly recommend getting the fried tacos they offer because they're the most expensive and still $1.95!  The service is super nice, I heard the cashier chatting with regulars while I was in line. To start, I came across this place while doomscrolling, and it immediately caught my attention. I grew up eating fried masa quesadillas, so seeing a restaurant nearby that specializes in them was surprising in a good way. I knew I had to try it eventually. As it turned out, the same video popped up on my coworkers' feeds, and we quickly agreed to make it our next lunch spot. When we arrived, there was a bit of confusion. The restaurant is called Kique's Taqueria, but there is also an Enrique's Mexican Restaurant in the same lot. Since "Kique" is a nickname for "Enrique", we almost walked into the wrong place. Once inside the correct restaurant, we were greeted right away by the gentleman at the register, Johnny, I believe, who was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the three-taco lunch special, which comes with beans, rice, and a fountain drink, along with a chicken and jalapeño fried masa quesadilla. For my drink, I chose agua de jamaica. The Food: I asked about their al pastor and was a bit disappointed to learn it is not shaved from a trompo but cooked on a flat top instead. That is not necessarily a bad thing. It just does not match my personal preference. So I went with two carne asada tacos and one pollo asado taco. The tacos are served plain, but there is a salsa bar with plenty of options to dress them up. The carne asada tacos were fine. They were not offensive, but they lacked flavor and could have used a bit more seasoning. The pollo asado, unfortunately, was more disappointing. It was quite pale, dry, and largely flavorless. Given that it was labeled "pollo asado," I expected something with more depth and char. The salsas ended up doing most of the work here. The quesadilla was easily the highlight of the meal. The chicken was well seasoned, the cheese had a great pull, and the outer crust was crispy and flaky. The only downside was the jalapeño, which had little to no heat. I also noticed a few spots where the masa tasted slightly undercooked, though my coworkers did not mention having that issue, so it may not be typical. My agua de jamaica tasted a bit watered down. It was not quite as bold as I prefer. The beans and rice were average. They were perfectly fine, but not particularly memorable. I found myself focusing more on the other items. I did appreciate the salsa selection. They all had good flavor, but none of them brought much heat. On a side note, the restaurant itself was very cold, though it was a hot day outside, so that likely explains it. The Service: The service was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and that alone earns them a star in this review. Overall: This place ultimately was not for me, but that does not mean others will not enjoy it. We didn't want to make a fuss so we waited. But this would have been nice to know before hand. I understand they are busy, it's taco Tuesday and IG made this spot popular but c'mon, an hour wait is unacceptable. I truly hope better planning in the future. The food was decent, but not the best we have had. Restaurant: Very small in size. No trash containers around. 3 tables inside and a few outside. They have an amazing taco tuesday, the tacos are huge and taste so good! We also had their fried quesadillas, which are also amazingggg! Popped in to try their fish taco. While it was OK, I prefer a Baja style fish taco. The breading was panko which felt heavy and out of place. The toppings, lettuce, pico and guacamole were good. I did get the butt ends of the head of lettuce and a jalapeno with the stem on my taco. Which seems sloppy. I understand restaurants process large amounts of vegetables but inedible parts should be discarded. I would totally go back to try one of their fried quesadillas.
