They have a pretty good selection of Mexican beer for under $4 a bottle! (ADD 1 STAR) Their fish tacos are always 99cents and they are really good. I also had a garlic shrimp street Taco for $1.89 which was dee-licious!! The shrimp was cooked perfectly with crusted garlic coating each piece! YUM!!! (ADD 1 STAR) I also ordered a carne asada street Taco because that is what a really base my Mexican places on...how well they do their carne asada. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. The meat was not very flavorful. . (MINUS 1 STAR) Staff was really nice. Restaurant itself was clean with plenty of seating. Also, plenty of parking...but being near the DMV, watch out for the new drivers taking driving tests! ADD 1 STAR) So for the garlic shrimp alone, I would return! I like a good taco and Taco Taco Poway makes some pretty good street tacos. However, one thing that bummed me out was that they neglect to tell you about when you are ordering the tacos, was that they do not come with guacamole, and you have to pay and extra .25 per taco for guacamole. Running about a $1.80 each, I ordered a carnitas, a carne asada, a adobada taco, and with a Yelp Check in, I earned a free fried battered fish taco, which normally cost .99. The most impressive taco was the carnitas, not only because they it loaded with tender pork, but it tasted very good. The taco was almost two in one given the amount of carnitas they put in it. The carne asada was good, but would of benefited from some seasoning. The meat was tender enough, but I had to add quite a bit of salsa to give it some flavor. The adobada was very good. The tender morsel of pork were well marinated and seasoned, hence they tasted quite good. The chopped cilantro and onions were fresh, but the white onions probably should of been chopped into smaller pieces. This particular taco would of been so much better than it was, if it came with guacamole. The fish taco was pretty good. The batter on the fish was crunchy, tasted good, and was not to thick. The white fish portion was relatively small, but for their regular price of $1, it's a good deal. The employees were all great and chatty when I engaged in conversation. All in all, the tacos are pretty good at good affordable prices. read more

There are many fusion restaurants in San Diego, from Korean taco trucks, to Roy's "Hawaiian" food using french technique but sometimes you can find simple fusion dishes in places you least expect it, like a taco shop. Every time we get together for a football game or UFC fight my friend brings over this Mexican fried rice. Sometimes its Carne Asada, sometimes carnitas, or shrimp or a combination of them. They are all so good! Maybe even better than Chinese fried rice. So tasty, you get the best of both worlds! I've now started bringing them to other get togethers and everyone seems to love it too! A nice new spin on something familiar. Who knew Mexicans could make fried rice?! Got the garlic shrimp and fish taco that's advertised for 99 cents. I liked the garlic shrimp, I could not taste much garlic but there was some batter on it that made the shrimp crispy. I liked this taco more than the fish taco as this one was heavily battered and not much fish in the taco. I rather pay more to get more fish and a better tasting taco than to pay less and eat cabbage with batter. If your in the area for the dmv or Walmart or something I'd check this place out. So I'm in Poway, getting kind of hungry but want something new to try. So of course I jump on Yelp to find me somewhere new to eat. Oh look, a new taco shop that has 99 cent fish tacos. Yep that's where I'm heading. I walk in and am immediately greeted by a really friendly guy. I order 2 fish tacos to go and 5 mins later I'm out the door. I get home and although the fish tacos are slightly smaller than what I'm use to, they're still really good. Within the first couple bites I was convinced I'd be going back. Highly recommend stopping by taco taco if you're in the area. They have quality food at a great price. They have $.99 fish tacos every day for eat in and $1.50 fish tacos if you get them to go. The California burrito is delicious, however it comes with rice which is a tish odd. I like to order the rice on the side. Their green salsa is delicious, I like to mix the red and green together. Definitely one of the worst taco shops I've been to, first time coming here and I order a California burrito, I take a bite into a burrito with the cheese not melted what so ever and some soggy wet fries Then when I get a piece of "meat" it's literally rock hard, I still don't even know what I put in my mouth but it was unchewable and it wasn't just "fatty" Then the worst part about it is when I ask if I can switch my plate out for something else they say no!! 99 cent Fish Tacos! I've never bothered to try anything else. They are simple and perfect. I usually get two or three, my teenage boys get three or four. Street taco sized fresh corn tortillas and crispy lightly battered, white fish, a little cabbage, a little salsa fresca and yummy white sauce. I lost my driver's license so I had the painful task of getting it replaced at the DMV. The wait was about 2 hours so apparently the corona virus isn't scaring people away from the DMV like airports. Taco taco is about 100 feet away from the DMV so I went there to have an early lunch and kill time. I'm really glad I did. I ordered a garlic shrimp burrito and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was very clean and the A/C felt great. The staff was also very attentive and nice as well. I am happy to have tried this place and I will be back to try more. Went in for lunch on a Wed. around noon after found this restaurant on Yelp. The place was full of customers. Very nice, comfy, homey ambience all around. I sat by the bar table since I was by my self. They offered $.99 fish taco. Good deal! I also tries the marinated pork taco. With 2 tacos down, I felt very full. Both tasted pretty satisfactory! I'm also a fan of their fish tacos and burritos as well as their street tacos. All of the items I sampled are always pretty well seasoned and I haven't eaten anything yet that I didn't like. I had Fish Tacos this afternoon and it was ok nothing special. Ambiance is ok. The service was awful no one offered or asked me any drinks or water.They didn't explain things correctly it was misleading. When I wanted to take my leftovers and asked for to-go box and they said they will charge 50 cents more for each taco because now it's considered carry-out. I literally brought my leftovers in my purse and they refused to give me a container. People work there was rude , unhelpful and ridiculous. I will never going back to this place again. read more
