Pretty authentic Mexican spot that we stopped by for dinner. Taco adobada: B- Taco nopal: C+ Quesa birria: A Vampiro asada: B+ I would highly recommend the quesa birria here as it tasted fantastic. The vampiro is also very good. Asada was cooked pretty well. Pastor was not my favorite compared to how other places prepare it. The nopal (cactus) I would skip unless you're vegetarian.

I usually prefer to go further south for tacos but if you want something closer, these tacos are decent. Just a bit pricey. Very small place but seems to be pretty busy. I stopped in for lunch. Ordered at the counter and took a seat. The lady that took my order brought them out to the table for me. She even brought along grilled onions and pepper in case I wanted it. It was nice of her to offer each customer without being asked for it.

Wanted to try some tacos in San Diego before making the trek back to L.A. but want to wait in the long line at Tacos El Gordo. I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. It's in a plaza next to Einstein's bagels. We came in for lunch and ordered adobada tacos, vampiro, and birria. Everything was delicious, however, I will say the asada needed just a little bit of salt. Overall, a pretty good taco spot in the area.

Tucked away in this plaza is Tacos Asadero. This little gem serves up authentic Mexican food with a variety of meat choices for your tacos, burritos, or other selections. It's a small and cozy restaurant with a line of booths you can sit at to enjoy the unique decor found inside. Particularly interesting was the wall of Hot Wheels toy cars - I certainly have never seen that outside of a Target or Walmart before! Service is very simple. You order at the front and wait for your food to arrive whether you're dining in or going for take-out. On our visit we had some tacos, a quesadilla, nachos, and a burrito. The tacos were loaded up nicely, but the choice of meat matters here. I found the asada to be a bit on the average side, but the cabeza was very flavorful and juicy. My actual favorite item from my meal was the quesadilla. It didn't come as I expected. It was melted cheese rolled up in a small burrito shape. Didn't matter though. It was excellent with the cheese perfectly melted inside. I loved it. The nachos were extremely loaded. It was just piles and piles of good stuff. This was a bit hard to eat. I'd recommend a fork for this one. My friend had the burrito, and it was absolutely massive. These guys may have one of the biggest burritos around. It is a little pricey though, so keep that in mine.

This hidden spot should be gatekept. They don't have a drive thru but they have ample parking and a staff that works fast. Pricing is reasonable and their decor is cool... There's a Fast and Furious Display along with all sorts of Hot Wheels. The food they offer is reasonable and adjusted with inflation a compared to their prices from when they first opened. Their birria and consume are legit. Adobada and Asada are on point. The dining area is clean and comfy if you choose to dine in. Portions are huge and a sight to see. Bring cash as they do charge a fee for cards. (Clover) I'll be back again soon. Happy New Year!

Great customer service! Weird window thing going on but it's okay because food is definitely worth it. We got a little bit of each meat and it was great! Not so busy. Thank God because we were hungry Super cute inside also! Not sure why they are not busy. They are super good! Adobada meat it's so tender and has great flavor! Crispy edges and so soft in the middle The cooks are definitely cooking with love back there. Super good nachos and came with a free drink!

This is a cute taco shop. Staff was friendly and service was good. They actually bring the food to your table vs you having to pick up the food yourself from the counter like most taco shops. We ordered the Lengua taco, carne asada taco, carne asada and adobada nachos and horchata. The tacos were ok. We were disappointed with the nachos. Presentation wise it looked great and generous portion. However the tortilla chips were thin and they use fake cheese. The carne asada and adobada lacked flavor. Since the chips were thin, they became soggy with all the cheese, meats, guacamole and sour cream on top. We just didn't feel satisfied with our meal. The best thing was the horchata LOL. I really wanted to like this place as I heard great things but it didn't live up to the hype for me.

Tacos Asadero is a hidden gem in Rancho Bernardo! Featuring traditional TJ-style tacos in a no frills taqueria. The tacos are legit and relatively inexpensive. I ordered one Asada and one Adobada and both were excellent. The tacos are pretty small but thoughtfully prepared. I really loved those freshly griddled corn tortillas. The lady at the counter was somewhat surly and the ordering process is awkward. You're separated from the cashier by a giant sheet of plexiglass with a speaker/mic system installed, kind of like visiting a bank in a bad neighborhood. We're in RB, so it's not a bad neighborhood, maybe a leftover from the 'rona. Either way I recommend ditching it. At first it was hard to hear the lady so I put my ear close to the speaker at the same time she put her mouth much closer to her mic. She about blew me away! Goodness, my left ear is still ringing. Anyway, after laying waste to two delicious tacos I felt like I needed to take a shower. After depositing my trash (outside) I headed to the restroom to wash my hands. Unfortunately it's a one-holer and someone was in there signing the constitution with the door locked. After waiting a few minutes I wound up leaving. I look forward to visiting again soon but will bring my own wet wipes next time.

This is my second time coming here and we got the adobada burrito and carne asada tacos. Something was definitely off about the adobada. The smell and taste just seemed like it's been sitting for a bit and it was also dry. I couldn't bother to finish even half of the burrito. Maybe this is just a one off, not too sure since I don't frequent this place enough. The carne asada tacos were fine and I ended up just eating that instead. I feel a bit bad making this review because the worker that helped us was very nice and friendly, but despite that, I don't think I will be coming back for their food.

Unique taco shop. Very cute inside, which is uncommon. Had pollo taco with fresh corn tortilla and a quesadilla! Both had great cheese pull and it was like a Mexican grilled cheese taco! Next time I will try Adobado, Asada and Birria! Very good service and look forward to next time!

These tacos were so delectable and juicy! This was the perfect spot to go in between errands and was starting to get busy during lunchtime. Free parking, quick service, and chill atmosphere

I was really excited to try this place as I heard great things about it. We tried adobada and asada. We were left more impressed by the asada than the adobada. Unfortunately, the adobada lacked flavor and the avocado salsa that is known particularly for these tacos looked like it had green dye added to it, almost like frosting. The vibe of the place was cool and wanted to get a table but they were pretty packed. There was another customer also waiting before us and we got our food before him and overheard him upset that he had been waiting an hour for his food. I honestly am glad we didn't have to wait too long as the lack of the flavor left us feeling unenthusiastic. I will say the flavor of the tortilla was good though! Overall, I'd recommend the asada over the adobada.

Food was delicious!! The adobada was flavored so well and we loved the onions and cilantro on each taco. The sauce they put on the adobada taco was also fantastic!! Service was great and speedy too. Overall recommend for anyone craving tacos in the local area.

I picked a place off Google but when we landed there we were not comfortable stopping to park, so we looked again and decided to check out La Puerta not realizing it was in the Gaslight District. I am not a fan of the Gaslight District, which is why I am so mad!! I'm going to HAVE to go back to the Gaslight District!! The food was AMAZING!! I HIGHLY recommend the Potato Flautitas. It's the kind of dish I'm going to dream about, I'm salivating now just thinking about them. I also did the Pick 3 Street Tacos (and actually ordered a 4th). The Ranchero Shrimp and Grilled Veggie were top notch. The Conchinita was recommended by our waiter, and it was interesting, tasty but different. It could have used a little more pickled onion. The only one I would not recommend (shockingly, I thought it would be the easy pass) was the carne asada. It was too greasy. My husband ordered a carne asada quesadilla and said the same, it was too wet and soaked through the tortilla. But there were no many other delightful options, I would say just don't go traditional. But honestly my favorite thing on the plate was the side dish rajas con crema, seriously, that alone is going to drag me down to the Gaslight District. I'm even considering going to a Padres game just for the excuse. I'm salivating again! As for our waiter, Colin, he was fantastic. Very informative, made great suggestions and seemed genuinely pleased by our satisfaction. He was smiling the whole time, friendly and stayed very present. I highly recommend you get yourself through the door at La Puerta and sit down for a meal ASAP. (We ate the food so fast I forgot to take pictures.)
