I almost always get the steak tacos and they are stuffed every time. Elote cup is fire worth the purchase. Rice is okay and I'm not a fan of the beans but honestly I'm not a fan of most restaurants rice and beans. The cashiers are always nice and speedy. Update.... I wrote a great review about my pork and steak burrito. Went back to get it and the cook said, I couldn't. They could not mix those two meats together even if I pay extra bc it's a burrito. Huh??!!! This was a different cook, then the one that made it for me the first time. After I explained, that the cook made it last time, the guy said that he shouldn't of made it for me. This left me very confused, if you have steak and you have pork why can't you put them together into a burrito if the customer is requesting it. Best tacos I've had in a while, since moving to Merrillville last year! They packed theirs with a lot of meat (PAUSE) of your choice! I usually grab a steak burrito with everything and 2 out 3 tacos on the side! Flour tortillas and everything on top! Do yourself a favor and mix the red & green salsa that comes with your food. Very good steak tacos. Let me say it again. Very good steak tacos. Huge portion per taco, could barely eat two of them. They have very authentic tamales and tortas and jalapeño toreados. Pretty good little spot not so far from home. They share a space with a Philly Cheese Steak joint. My Donald got a burrito which was better than some and I got the best torta I've ever had... The bread was crusty and flaky and just delicious. They give you chips and salsa (pretty authentic salsa) to start so... win! Can't wait to go back and try the other half... Unfortunately every time I call and order delivery they are always flustered on the phone and seem overwhelmed, don't get discouraged by this, the delivery driver is super nice and always comes quicker than the 2-hr delivery time they give me on the phone. This used to be the place to go on taco Tuesday and the tacos were amazing, but we ordered tonight thru door dash and the tacos werent even close to what they used to be. We ordered 16 tacos. The steak tacos were not normal chunk steak with crumbly white cheese and served with a lime and their amazing sauces. The meat was like a shredded arbys looking type of beef, not the amazing tacos we had in the past. There was sour cream and huge chunks of tomato. No cilantro. No lime. No sauce. No corn shells. Not the authentic tacos that Taco Tia is known for. Huge disappointment. Not sure who is to blame for the substandard meal. Taco Tia normally provides an amazing meal. Fist time coming here I have to say it was ok. The taco lengua and chicken were good but in one of the order we asked for all rice no beans and we still got beans. Went there for the first time tonight with my bf as a date. They have some awesome food and we were over at the philly cheesesteak side and they had some great food with really big portions. They also have awesome customer service with there guest during our wait for our food a big group of teenagers came in and the young gentlemen who was an employee who bring our food to us instead of being rude or like other restraunts like this he apologized for our wait and let us eat and toward the end of our meal he had brang us a bag for my leftovers and asked me and my bf and I if we by chance liked Mexican corn and when i said yes i do he went over and asked them to make 1 and came and brought it to us for free and apologized again for our wait.
