A real hole in the wall for the Crown Pointe area. Prices are unbeatable. $4 for each taco and $4 for a small cheese dip that I didn't even finish on my own. Service was quick. I recommend this place for run of the mill Mexican food by where I pause is customer service. Earlier today, 3/28/2026, I ordered food to be delivered through GrubHub. One of the items ordered was not delivered. I called the restaurant and spoke with the person who answered the phone. She acknowledged that my order that they received included the item not delivered but asked that I should reach out to GrubHub for my money back. I didn't want my money back, I just wanted my food. When I explained this to her, she handed the phone to the owner. He also acknowledged that the order sent to his restaurant included the item not delivered. While super combative, he said that there is nothing he can do but make the order again and someone can pick it up. I didn't ask for the food to be delivered for me to come and pick it up. The whole purpose of food delivery is that you don't have to leave the house. Then he blamed the driver from GrubHub for not delivering the food as according to the receipt. SIR: the GrubHub driver picked up what your incompetent staff handed them!!! He did finally concede and said that he will talk to his staff about making sure that the order matches what is picked up by the GrubHub drivers. But the whole encounter left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't like that the owner, a minority himself, would want to put the blame on GrubHub and essentially the driver who picked up the order when it was his staff that messed up. I would love to have seen some accountability. It was the restaurant staff that didn't read and/or package the order correctly. Not GrubHub or their driver. Do better folks. I will no longer support this business. read more

I'm from the region and I've been in Southern California most of my adult life. I also travel for work about 6-7 months out of the year so I get to sample some of the best and worst Mexican food in this country. Having said that, a Fat Burrito is the best damn wet burrito I've ever had hands down. Even for So Cal. The BEST! I always get some when I'm back in the area. Don't hesitate. The Good: drinks were amazing. Had a Michelada and the girl ordered a margarita. Both were delicious. Food came out very fast and the place was clean with a friendly staff The Bad: Although the drinks were good, they were a little on the pricey side. The Michelada was $8 which is kinda pricey for basically a draft beer with a few extra ingredients. Went with the "Fat burrito" since that was the name of the restaurant I figured you couldn't go wrong. The burrito was big, but didn't have too much flavor. Sour cream and lettuce took up over half of the filling inside. "Steak" was unseasoned and was more like ground beef than steak. The burrito was only 10.99 which is fairly cheap for the amount of food you're getting, but there's much better places around for similar prices. Overall I'd recommend coming here for a couple drinks, but not so much for the food read more

I should have reviewed this place years ago because I have loved it since my first experience here, at least five years ago. I discovered this place when I was driving from Chicago to Indianapolis and stopped at Crown Point to fill up my car. I saw "Fat Burrito " and figured a restaurant with that name would have to be good, lol. I like to stop by here whenever I am in the area. While everything I have ever ordered here has been delicious, my favorite menu item by far is the fat burrito. It is a truly overstuffed burrito, filled with quality ingredients that is too fat to pick up. I use a knife and fork, and it is big enough for two meals or for two people to share. Service is very friendly and you can call the restaurant to place your order. read more

My go to order is usually a steak or ground beef fat burrito with Swiss and red sauce dinner. Absolutely hits the spot every time. It's locally owned and very consistent. Which I absolutely love because you know every time you order, you're getting exactly what you want. The food is inexpensive but not low on quality. Sometimes at these small hole in the walls the food can be greasy or the meat extra tough. Not here! The service is friendly and the place is always busy even on week nights!
