I have always liked Taco Time. I've always had fast and friendly service, inside or through the drive-thru. I can't remember a time when my order has been wrong. However, I'm a little annoyed. I've noticed Taco Time prices skyrocket. I'm ok with that, but the portions are now smaller. The crisp meat burritos are no longer as hearty as they once were. The tortilla is noticeably smaller and that means less ground beef, as well. I noticed right away. I'm hoping this is due to the difficulty with distributors and high meat prices. We drove thru around 730 (which is a few hours before close and it wasn't busy so we didn't feel like an inconvenience) and we ordered 3 large pinto bean combos and a few other things. When we got to the window only one meal was a large although we told her large multiple times at the speaker. She told us she had already made a mistake and forgot to charge us for one of the meals and she just let it go, but then when we asked to have the sizes fixed she said she'd have to charge. The charge was $9 to upgrade from a regular to large combo. We then asked why the up-charge was $4 per combo, and she then told us that she ended up also charging us for her mistake. So she made two mistakes and admitted it, yet charged us for it in the end. The food itself was low quality and we got a quesadilla that was so wet that it leaked on all our food, and we got regular bean burritos that came out freezing and tasted like there was nothing but salsa. Overall terrible experience. I expected more from this establishment. read more

I like that taco time takes the time to make their food fresher than many fast food restaurants do. They advertise that their salsa is made fresh daily and it tastes great! The prices are higher than Taco Bell but you get what you pay for. I ate in the restaurant today and the staff was very friendly. An employee came by to offer us mints or a lollipop and then she even offered to pick up our trays for us when we were done. Great job on customer service! read more

I have stopped eating here. I don't know what happened but a couple of years ago they went downhill fast. Everytime I came here the place was filthy. The last time there were no clean tables and for some reason there was actual dirt on some and the floors were all sticky. It makes me sad because this was my go to place. read more

Pretty shocked at my experience with the drive through service. Not only is there an illuminated sign across town for Taco Time, in which they used to be located, but there is no sign on the street or on the building at the new Taco Time location. Proceeded to use the drive through, and half way through my order the woman just stopped talking to me. I waited 4 minutes to see if she had forgotten about me, I even asked "Are you there?" and got no response. I looked up and saw that all the cars ahead of me had already left the line with their meals. So I proceeded to the pick up window. I immediately asked if they could repeat my order because the woman just stopped talking to me and was met with an attitude driven response as if I did something wrong... And it wasn't even the woman who took my order. I asked for hot sauce, she said it should be in the bag, after I clearly looked in the bag and didn't see some. She proceeded to give me my sauce and just close the pick up window without any follow up response. Terrible service? Sure, but then I get to my burrito 5 minutes later.. Not only was it cold, it was easily half the thickness of a usual burrito from Taco Time, but there was beef scattered on the outside of the burrito. How does one screw that up? Overall, I can't complain! They redid their interior since the last time I was in there and it looks great! Good food, and the staff were very polite. My only gripes would be that the exterior still looks pretty shabby and the Cinnamon Crustos had too much sugar on them, but that could also be just me. First time ever trying Taco Time. Everything was made to order considering we were the only customers there. However, I found mostly everything we ordered to be very flavorless and over priced. I'm not a big fan of Taco Bell but I'd honestly say Taco Bell is better. Chicken ranchero burrito tasted like they used frozen breaded Tyson chicken nuggets for the chicken. The taco meat had zero flavor. The tater tots or "mexi fries" were the only decent thing. Tried almost every salsa at the salsa bar and the only one that was decent was the verde, but I didn't enjoy the oddly large chucks of onion and cilantro throughout. Every other verde salsa I've ever had was blended. 5 alarm tasted like it was just enchilada sauce. Ranch tasted like straight up mayonnaise. Hot salsa was not hot. Wouldn't recommend and probably won't return. read more

I went through the drive through and got hosed. Ordered a crisp meat burrito from the drive through with thousand island dressing and hot sauce. I was charged for the thousand island, but got neither hot sauce or thousand island. Then, after getting home to Genesee, realized my meat burrito was actually a bean burrito. So called to complain. The woman running the cash register, Lucy, personally delivered me my meal well before I expected to receive my meal. She also offered me a mint and was very friendly the entire time I was there. I love Taco Time food. I used to go the one in Moscow quite a bit. But the quality of standards in this store are very low and disappointing. Every time I order a crip taco, it is served broken. If I order the crustos, I get what looks like the crumbs from the bottom of the bag. No whole pieces. Cleanliness is non existent. Even tho the place is mostly empty, it is difficult to find a clean table to sit at. If you can find a table that has been wiped off, it seems to have a build up that makes it feel dirty. The condiment bar is disgusting with all the spills that aren't cleaned up. The floor is sticky and there is pop spilled on the counter most of the time. The last time I was there I ordered a taco salad. The crispy bowl it came in had no bottom to it. I gave two stars because despite the low standards of cleanliness, there are still a few employees that give friendly service. But, I won't be eating there again until the place cleans up its act. read more

First time I've eaten here. I had a gift card that apparently is only valid at Taco Times in eastern Washington. This was very different from the Taco Time NW locations in Seattle. It seemed more like a locally owned restaurant instead of a huge franchised corporate place. This is a good thing. The service was friendly and respectful. I'm sure they deal with numerous college kids being on the U of I campus. That can wear on the customer service from my experience. The food was fresh and just as expected. Not good. Their bean nachos are okay. Do not get their beef it's like someone boiled the flavor out of dog food, They have a salsa bar but don't attempt to use it to doctor up a to go order. They are really serious about selling you non-biodegradable one third full plastic cups that come open in the bag. In a town with a bunch of good sit down mexican restaurants including one less than a block away and a taco bell there's no reason to ever go to taco time. read more
