The evening of January 31st my husband and I stopped by this Taco Time drive thru around 8:40 pm and ordered 6 tacos from the "after 8pm" menu, a crisp chicken burrito, and nachos. As usual, the tacos were fresh and tasted great, and the crisp chicken burrito was delicious. The food itself is normally consistent here, which is why we come back. Unfortunately, the service and food handling during this visit were disappointing. While waiting at the window, we watched the cashier handle our money and then prepare our food without changing his gloves. We politely asked for the nachos to be removed from the order because of this, which the staff did. After getting home, we realized the crisp chicken burrito was missing, so we had to drive back to have it corrected. The issue was fixed, but the extra trip was frustrating. I'm sharing this to provide feedback, not to single anyone out. The food quality itself was good, but the service and food handling concerns impacted the overall experience. So it's a holiday, yes, and we drove all over town looking for Mexican food. Half the places said they were open and weren't; they other half were just not open. The food truck that was our last idea was also closed so we went to Taco Time across the street - so glad we did! This used to be my hangout in college in Washington. Mainly because they have tater tots, which is pretty much what you have to do to be my favorite fast food restaurant, so it's Taco Time and Sonic. We told the manager how desperate we had been for Mexican food and he explained a lot of places were closed because otherwise they'd have to pay overtime - okay, we get it. And thanks for the pleasant, normal conversation at a time when our country has lost its mind (peace). They have veggie options AND they use compostable packaging and locally sourced ingredients - WIN WIN WIN. BTW our entire county is SUPPOSED to be not using plastic (ie straws) but MANY places do it anyway. Not so Taco Time. I love tacos. They are probably my favorite food in the whole world. I saw a whole bunch of these while here in Seattle. Today I decided to stop by and check it out. I ordered 2 crunchy tacos and a large Coke. My total was $6.05. I went through the drive thru and then ate at these little tables they have outside. The tacos were really good. The shells on these things were amazing. Think of the best restaurant style tortilla chips you can think of......then mold those into a taco shell. That is what these shells were all about. They put every other taco shell from a fast foot type place to shame. Hell....Ill even say that these taco shells were maybe the best taco shells ever? Its damn close.....they were that good! They fill the tacos with a good seasoned beef, then put a bunch of shredded cheese on top of that, lettuce on top of that and then top it with a half slice of tomato. The tacos are $1.69 each which seems kind of steep but in reality its a good price for the quality you get. They give you a real tasty hot sauce too in a little container. It was spicy and delicious. I really enjoyed my 2 tacos. Oh yeah....they use crushed ice in their drinks too. Crushed ice is always good. I was real impressed with this here chain. I heard they used to have them in CA back in the day. Why did they leave? I would go here over Taco Bell or Del Taco. They are sooo slow I've gone through the drive though thinking it will be fast no they take my money and leave me wondering where my food.... when they finally deliver it the excuse was waiting on Mexi Fries... thanks for telling me 5 + minutes ago what was going on. This is a relatively new property with new paving, as well. I've been here twice in a few weeks, once at night and once before work. At night, it's slow and quiet by the staff was rather pleasant and friendly. My second time was ok. They have awesome mexi-TOTS and the crispy chicken burrito was just right - it took awhile when I got it because they probably made it fresh [since it was slow?]. This location is newly remolded with plenty of parking, BUT I wanted to give a shout out to manager Rachelle Milhelm her customer service was amazing she handled my minor issue like she said she would!! This meant alot to me and I felt she should be recognized for this. My order was incorrect on my lunch break while going through drive thru and we all know time is very precious when on a lunch break and going through drive through just to find out once you get back to the office that you are missing part of your meal with no time to go back!! I just ate a fish taco and it tasted good. The only complaint would be that it came with only one small piece of fish so you don't get fish with every bite. Also had a crunchy taco and it loaded with beef and lettuce... no cheese because I don't like cold cheese. The taco meat it self was good, the meat wasn't bad but it was a little bland for my taste. Taco Time holds a special place in my heart as it was the earliest memory of eating fast food I have. In fact, this was the first time I had Taco Time since more than 20 years ago. I am happy to say that the crispy burritos of today are just as good as my fond childhood memories. All that overly-fried crispy goodness can still grease your fingers while eating it and your arteries later on. Dip it in the complimentary salsa to add some wetness to the dealio. Otherwise, your meal is literally fried meat n' carbs (ground beef in a light fluffy crunchy wrap)...and some delicious tater tots (Mexi-fries in Taco Time parlance). Although I must say that my sweet potato taters were a bit under cooked in some spots. All in all, it smokes Taco Bell hands down. After visiting the area after 20 years of not living in WA, I wanted to try Taco Time again. So here I am writing this after sampling some items. Mexi-fries (tots): these were my favorite thing here when I was a kid. While I'm not a fan of tots anymore, these were pretty tasty. Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, greasy perfection. Sweet potato Mexi-fries: these were okay. Smaller than the OG Mexi-fries. They tasted a little undercooked on the inside, but whatever. Crisp Burrito(pinto bean): Not too bad, although I wouldn't necessarily call it a "burrito." It more resembles a taquito/flauta. It was actually delightful. I enjoyed the crunchy shell. Beans were good... couldn't really taste the cheese but *shrugs*. Also, the names are off. My brother ordered a "soft taco" but when he opened it, it looked like a real burrito, just smaller. REAL tacos aren't folded up...... those are burritos. And by "real," I mean the kind you get in Southern California at the taco trucks. But that's my 2 cents. read more

A typical TT location with one big exception: the floors are horribly greasy. I stopped in this location to grab a bite after an appointment in Seattle, partially to let evening rush hour die down a bit (I hate sitting in stop and go traffic). I stepped up and ordered, then grabbed my beverage (their iced tea is really good), napkins, hot sauce and grabbed a table. As I approached the table I almost lost my balance because of the greasy floor. Even after sitting down my shoes were literally sliding all over the floor of the booth due to the greasiness. As others have stated, the drive-through is NOT fast. There were 2 vehicles in front of me and it still took 15 minutes just to get up to the window! I've had food from this Taco Time on many different occasions and it has always been delicious except for the chicken quesadilla. I've only had the quesadilla at this one location so I am not sure if Taco Time has a poor choice or if it was specifically this location. The quesadilla is one whole tortilla folded into quarters and there was very little cheese or chicken on it, I felt like I was eating just a tortilla, that did not stay folded well. read more

The staff was very good, the dining room and restroom were clean, the food was fresh, and the price wasn't jacked up like most of fast food franchises this close to the airport. Unfortunately, the oil in the fryer was old/tainted, making the crisp burrito dark and heavy. Taco is is great little chain. The food is very constant from store to store. This one in Tukwila that sits in front of the homedepot store is by far my favorite of all the stores the staff at this store just has fun while being efficient and preparing my food it makes the atmosphere of the place one that I look forward to every time I stop in. The food is always great and unlike most fast food stores the tables are nearly always clean. But like any fast food chain during busy times you might find a few tables that need to be cleaned. read more

I got really sick eating at this Taco Time last week. My first and last time at a taco time. Went through the drive thru to quickly get some food on my break. Ordered a Mexi Platter. I was finished with the Platter, eating the last few bites of the taco when I started to feel just awful out of nowhere. 10 minutes later I was in the bathroom puking at work and had to leave early.
