Me and my wife are running the firework Stand across the street. We decided to try and we were not disappointed, my wife got chicken nachos and I got enchiladas a chicken taco and a chalupa. We came in for the breakfast tacos and were pleasantly surprised. The tortillas were very fresh, and they had just the right amount of filling. We especially liked the dried meat taco - the meat flavor was very intense, yet the meat was still tender. Given the relatively cheap price of $4-$4.50 per taco, very reasonable as well. read more

When you expect "Tacos Al Pastor" and get this flavorless beef fajita instead. I was so disappointed. I questioned the waitress on it after I got it and she said yeah they have it as Al Pastor but it's not Al Pastor I don't know why they have it as that. My friends and family however had other tacos and they were very good, they wanted to try barbacoa but were already sold out by 11am on Sunday. Next time we're in the area and stop here I will definitely have a carne guisada taco or a simple breakfast taco and pancakes if it's around the same time. The meat from the carne guisada was very tender, the pancakes were a generous size, the same can go for the breakfast tacos and the tortillas were definitely fresh and homemade. New to the area and thought the enchilada plate was good. We were almost gonna become regulars until we had the worst service ever. Sat there for 30 mins before we got drinks and menus. Then they forgot about us again. Finally took our order then forgot about us again for a whole hour. When I complained to the snot nose punk waiter he just shrugged his shoulders so I said ... oh that's it? Just gonna shrug your shoulders and he nodded yes and shrugged them again. We were so hungry and everything else was closed by that time so we stuck it out and finally ate after a 1hr wait for our food. Needless to say he didn't get a tip. My wife and I Vowed never to return again. I highly DO NOT recommend this place. Stay away. Service is the worst. They don't care about they're customers. We weren't the only ones that had issues that nite or any other night from what I've seen. That night was the last draw for us. read more

Can't seem to drive past this place...especially when we're hungry. Ate 3 ground beef enchiladas with rice and beans for $7.00....my wife had the carne guisada....for about the same price...excellent tex-mex at a customer friendly price... the service is always great and friendly...i surely do like spending my money in places that treat the customer right! This is a great restaurant with authentic Tex-Mex. Little Tony has done a wonderful job of improving the service and quality. Prices are much better than most restaurants in the area. The margaritas are some of the best I've had at any Mexican food restaurant. You will not be disappointed if you eat here. If you come on a really busy night the service might be a little slower than normal, but they keep bringing chips, dip, and drinks. read more

There are two restaurants in Eagle Lake that you can go in, sit down and order food. A seafood place and a Mexican food place. If you come into town to visit and stay a few days, you eat at both restaurants. Taco Tony's has food that is normal Tex-Mex. the problem with the restaurant is service and they nickel and dime you death on the food items. I like onions with my cheese enchiladas. What irritates me is paying an extra 25 cents for the onions. It is not the cost but the way they present it. Change the menu prices to include extras, don't argue about adding it to the bill without saying anything. The service in the restaurant is very inconsistent. I have tried to be nice and I have tried to be demanding. No difference on the lack of service. I guarantee you that if another Mexican restaurant were to open in this community, Taco Tony's would cease to exist. read more

This was once a great place to eat at. We go out of our way to eat here. My wife loves it, I have been disappointed the last 5 times I have been. 3 Togo orders were messed up and the 2 other times I ate there and it was awful service. They messed up my order, fixed it and wanted me to pay the extra $1 for the extra meat. (When most restaurants would of discounted to make you happy) After the past 2 Togo orders were messed up!!! I used to be very pleased with the service and food. Now they staff has changed and it's not the same. I shouldn't have to go refill my drink myself when there is only 4-5 tables! It's not worth me driving 50 miles round trip to get Togo food that isn't correct. I would not recommend eating there. Any other restaurant that has messed up my food ONCE they offer a meal on the house. They have messed up my order 3-4 times and want to charge me extra!! Makes no sense. I will change my 1 star when the service improves. Not once has the owner asked me if everything was ok. We have been going there for 6+ years, once a month at least!! Check the prices of your food, they don't give you a check at your table. Just keep driving thru eagle lake!! Stop at buccees to hold you over. AGAIN, DON'T STOP HERE!!!! My family and I go here all the time on Sunday afternoons. It is not a fancy establishment and it is NOT Tex-Mex! The portions are great for the prices and the quality has always been consistent. I highly recommend the cheese enchiladas because they aren't greasy but creamy and delicious. The Martha's plate is a favorite among our family. If you are interested in Chile relleno or menudo, I have heard great things about both. Try it out! First timer and I ordered 2 bacon & egg tacos on flour tortillas to go. Tacos were hot and freshly cooked, medium to large on the size. The pre cooked bacon was chopped and cooked with the eggs. Came with 2 red salsas. Very little heat in salsa. Only negative for me was the tortilla was not grilled while cooking the eggs. (I like my tortillas slightly crispy). Yesterday was my dad's 80 birthday. We called Taco Tony's four days in advance and placed an order to feed 10 people.My sister called multiple times to make sure it was correct, and I even went there personally to confirm the order. We told them we would pick it up at 6:15-6:30 Tuesday evening. When we got there, it wasn't ready, so we waited. Finally we got the order and left; not thinking that we needed to check it. After dropping off the food, we later learned that there were no enchilada's, because Tony called us at 10 and asked what we wanted to do with them. REALLY!!! Seriously? What a great birthday dinner.....tacos, cheese dip and onions. All I can say is that there are incompetent people working at Taco Tony's! Thanks for nothing Tony! read more
