Very fairly priced, fresh and well prepared ingredients, and super nice chef and staff were the highlights of my recent trip here. I absolutely loved the super fresh guacamole and red salsa which was spicy and garlicky and just tasty. The staff was very kind and the chef even came out to talk with people and help bus tables. This is the kind of family run taco place you love downtown but in the burbs. The al pastor tacos are my favorite! The tortillas taste homemade and the horchata is delicious. Great place to stop for tacos on a lunch break during the work week. Place was packed when I showed up at 530. It's a fast casual place where you order at the counter then find a seat. I ordered 4 tacos; 2 al pastor, 1 chorizo con queso fundido, and 1 special taco which was an Asian inspired seared tuna. I really enjoyed the food a lot but it just seemed that something was missing from each taco to take it from really good to great. This is the very best Mexican restaurant I have visted in my entire life, anywhere in the world. Chicago has some of the greatest Mexican restaurants in the country, but Taco Vida rasies the bar on all of them. The restaurant is absolutley beautiful and the chef owner Freddy is an artist and a genius. All of the food is made fresh from scratch, and everything is absolutely delicious. The steak tacos are the highest quality with amazing innovative ingredients and flavors. This is as good as it gets. The churros are also fabulous and one of a kind. I loved the light hot fresh churros, both the plain and the one with caramel, dipped in hot chocolate. These are for the gods. Daily and weekly taco specials make things even more exciting here. This is an incredible gift to have food at this elite level in the suburbs. I have traveled from the North Shore to downtown to Geneva to each of the Rick Bayless establishments in quest of the "best" Mexian food. I confidently can affirm the best is in Deerfield, and it could not be more warm and comfortable in Taco Vida either. This place is filled with Passion, inspiration, and love. We have had 3 separate visits to Taco Vida in Deerfield. The restaurant has a pleasant decor. The owner greets you upon arrival and reviews the menu as well as options. I've had several of the varieties of tacos including the tuna, lobster, tilapia and brisket. In addition we can be guacamole and plantains. The tacos are fresh and filling the menu and options are creative and original. For dessert we had the tres leches. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

The food is great and the prices are very reasonable. You can pick from an array of tacos and other foods that you cannot find from more typical taco joints. On top of that, the owner is very friendly. The menu may change sometimes, but a couple of my favorites are the mushroom taco and al pastor taco. I highly recomment this place. read more

Shrimp tacos were the perfect crispness with the pickled radish and condiments The chicken tacos are also good and all items were nicely sized. We also got flan and tres leches both of which were very popular. Attentive service, very clean place with a great vibe and decor, and we really appreciated Chef Freddy coming by to say hello and checking on us.
