This place is definitely solid. It has some ambiance and they serve beer and margaritas. We tried the strawberry aquafresca and it was delicious. The service was great. They also have 4 homemade sauces in varying degrees of heat. I love that you can order individual tacos and especially that you can order a single quesabirria taco (I think this was my favorite). We also tried a carnitas taco (tasty and flavorful with lots of crispy bits), a chorizo taco (good, tiny bit spicy), and the al pastor (kind of a let down, Tortilleria Allison in Poughkeepsie has such amazing Al Pastor tacos, everyone else tastes bland in comparison). I like getting my tacos with cheese, onions, and cilantro. read more

Coworker called in our order to go as well as picked it up so I can't comment on the service or the ambiance of the place... As for the food, it is VERY good. I got one of each: Lengua (beef tongue), Asada (steak), Birria (shredded beef/Mexican style), as well as an order of chips and guac. It came packaged very nicely. Price point is fair for the quality of food. All the tacos are priced at $4 unless you want to change the tortilla or add cheese/sour cream. They come with an assortment of sauces with varying degrees of heat. I will definitely return! read more

This was another place in my list to try out that I was very late to do but very happy I did. Quaint place with friendly staff and very good food. It's one of the few places I've found that has Tacos de Lengua on the menu AND actually serves them! They are fabulous btw. Their chips and guacamole are also amazing. My only qualm - and this is a personal preference - is that the food is a little too salty. The next time I order though I will likely ask for them to do no salt/no extra salt and see if there is a difference. Other than that it's a great staple for the area. read more

I cannot believe I've lived in this area for 4 years and didn't find this place until now! The best Mexican food in Brewster and Carmel. Very tasty and well seasoned love their platters and tacos and their guacamole *chefs kiss*. Friendly server (male) always greets us warmly and their margarita is legit! read more

This place is AWESOME. My co-worker got tacos from there yesterday and I HAD to come try them after seeing hers. They did not disappoint! I got the Birria Beef. They were packed with beef and melty cheese, topped with cilantro and onion, and came with sides of radish, lime, and cucumber. There was also a container with some sort of liquid - I couldn't stop dipping the taco in it. They were a little pricey in my opinion @ $4.00 each, but they filled me up and tasted great. It was well worth it after all was said and done. They also delivered 4 different hot sauces to my table and explained what each one was and how hot they were. The atmosphere was very friendly. The staff, while not overly talkative, were very welcoming. The space was extremely clean. I will 100% be back - I can't wait to try some other dishes! read more

This place would go up one star if they had beer. Pros: Choice of four homemade hot sauces. Solid birria tacos. Simple, well-priced menu. Just ok: Bland guacamole. Tacoland Wow! Do not let the limited menu keep you from this gem. The food was DEE LISH. The best guacamole ever. The chips are thin and crispy, not over salted. Tried the Birria tacos, aside from Barbacoa, my go to taco when im in Mexico. Full of flavor, perfectly tender and the broth is heavenly. Also ordered the rice and beans just to try. The beans were tender, broth and seasoned just so. Topped it off with Horchata, a very sweet treat and one I wait for when i go back south of the border. Nearby tables were very happy with their food. Take out was just beginning to heat up at 5:30. This is a family restaurant. Senora Ruth mans the stove, Christian and Louis the front of the house. The only tacos my toddler will eat. That says alot he is usually a committed hard shell taco eater, but the birria tacos have made him a changed child. The Al pastor had just the flavor I was looking for along with the dipping sauces just top-notch. Won't regret trying this place. read more

The best Tacos in Carmel by a mile. The tacos de lengua (tongue) are simply fantastic. The Birria tacos are divine. Most places use a pre made tortilla for their Birria tacos... here they are handmade out of fresh masa. Between that and the super rich dipping sauce these are some of the best Birria tacos I've ever had. The fresh juices at the counter are so delicious, so are the chips and guacamole. And last but not least the sauces and pico that come FREE with every order are absolutely delicious and unique, ranging from spicy to savory. As for the service it is absolutely stellar. The owners work in the restaurant and are super nice and welcoming people. Support this family run business, it's a gem in Putnam County... We just went to Tacoland tonight after hearing great things online about this new opening in Carmel. We learned from our waiter that this is a family run business, and everyone there was attentive and very passionate about what they have to offer. As many others posted, their guacamole was absolutely delicious with tasty chips that are not over salted or oily. Just that in and of itself was a nice treat. We also had the quesadilla which came with sour cream, lettuce and guacamole. It was very good. What I really liked was their homemade sauces. They were not listed in the menu, but come to the table with each meal. There were four ranging from mild to hot. Avocado, Tomatillo, and I forget the name of the other two. But the sauces are for sale, and were really delicious. We will definitely be going back. The owners were delightful and Tacoland is a really nice addition to Carmel. read more
