I had come to Tacology before I sincerely loved the food, however, I thought it was a bit pricey for the food they offered. Nonetheless, the ambiance is spectacular, the service on point, and ordering is very simple and to the point. Today I returned because I needed a quick lunch. I ordered an Octopus Tostada and the Ceviche Taco. It was a delight!! The Toastada came overloaded with octopus. The octopus was perfectly cooked, tender and seasoned. They add a pink mayo sauce that is nice, I could have done without it, personally. The rest of the ingredients are perfectly balanced and the slices of jalapeños came at the top, which is perfect for those of us who like removing them. The Ceviche taco (I ordered the fish one) was exquisite. It is a big portion of fish in a romaine lettuce and it is served with onions and some Crunchy quinoa. I was served nachos to munch on at the beginning with three types of sauces from mild to spicier, which because of the amount of food, I did not even get to finish. I am pleased to say that it was a fantastic lunch. My lunch took literally 5 MINUTES to get to me from the time I ordered. I was able to have lunch in less than 20 minutes, and I was full and happy when I walked out to Tacology. Definitively will return! It was worth every penny!! read more

My go-to when I worked at the centre! Great atmosphere, wait staff, and menu. The low rider margarita is definitely one of my favorites along with the spicy jalapeño one. They have indoor and outdoor seating, the bathrooms are very well kept, and the bar area is great! The octopus tacos are my absolute favorite along with the queso fundido. As far as I can remember I do not believe they have a "kids menu" which is a bummer because like many other children, my kids are picky eaters. So if your kids are anything like mine then I'd totally save this place for "date night" or a night out with friends. Also, if you enjoy Mezcal make sure you ask the bartender what they have you will not be disappointed. I look forward to coming here again soon. read more

I've been here at least 10 times and I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend sitting outside for a better experience as inside seating can be excessively loud at times with the large tvs playing music videos. If there is a line they text you when your table is ready so there is no need to stay. Service is quick and easy through the tablet feature. I highly recommend their guacamole and chips as well as their queso. Their avocado toast is one of the best I've tried. I love stopping here when in the brickell area for a yummy and fun dining experience. I highly recommend. Updated Review: I have changed my review from 5 stars to 4. Decided to try it out since I love Tacos and by far really disappointed. Extremely overpriced for tiny not so tasty taquitos. The place is definitely not kid friendly, no kids menu I asked for a pineapple juice for my son since it was the only juice they had and it never even came out- we realized by the time it was time to go. Service wasn't terrible but you can tell they would rather be doing something better than serving you. They want to push the iPad ordering system which doesn't even make sense for a place like that. After leaving the Yelp event at Big Easy a few of us came here. We came here with the intentions of eating but ended up at the bar. I didn't eat. I had a Jalapeno Margarita. It was not the best one I have had but it was good. I think it was overpriced at $15. One of the people I came with ordered tacos and they were small and around $17 which he felt was overpriced. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area is soooooo pretty. It is under a gazebo type of thing with plants and flowers drapping over the top and down the sides. There are beautiful colorful light/lamps hanging. The inside area is also pretty. The bartenders were friendly and informative. FANTASTIC casual taco place with legitimately perfect execution. The cocktails are all delicious, from a refreshing aperol margarita to a luscious passion fruit mezcal one. The perfectly photogenic food is a treat. Delicious queso fundido browns in the bowl & can be topped with huitlacoche ('Mexican truffles'). The pork belly tacos are magical: crispy & glazed. I enjoy the coconut margarita, and the lemon drop is good too. Food wise, we ALWAYS get the queso with chorizo, it's a staple and cant be missed. I crave the baja fish tacos, and the rib eye tacos. The esquite can be skipped, its not too special. If you like chicharron it's HUGE and a fun presentation. Others to get: gringa, octopus, carnitas, flauta, alhambre. Professionally exploring restaurants for a living one hopes to be left without words from an outstanding meal. It might be the como indusing cheese from the nachos or the overall dining experience but I will try to materialize something on this place. I was greeted by two young ladies at the hostess stand and asked if I preferred inside or outiside. My bately there man boobs a-sweating pointed inside. We were relagated to the far corner of the empty dining room. No menus just an iPad. A hot pink button with the word START was begging for attention as much as my stomach needed some grub. It kept saying that it couldn't locate a server to try again after a couple of seconds. 3 minutes later an extra from a telenovela comes by and takes the iPad from us to replace it. We navigate through the iPad menu. Anyone not so tech savvy, older and easily overwhelmed should steer clear of this place. Your order cannot be placed until our "waiter" comes back to punch in his employee number and the table number we have been exhiled to. They explain the restaurant is market style so foods are prepared at different stations. Esquite... watery and flavorless, ceviche with barley ..mega meh, why the clementine juice or whatever citrus that was, guacamole also absolutely forgettable. Shrimp Nachos had some good components but the nacho cheese was excessive!! What are you trying to hide here people???? Put it on the side or drizzle it not flood a dish with it. Maybe you can collab with the movie theatre for some Nacho business. Shrimp Tostada is a must. Should have skipped everything else and ordered 4/5 of these. My horchata never came however our friend from the beginning of the story asked if it was ready if he could nring it with the check. Thanks but no thanks. If you are catching a movie then come and grab a half dozen of the amazing rock shrimp tostadas. Make sure to check your receipt when you pay. The tacos were good, but then again I paid happy hour price. I think looking the the regular prices, I probably would feel short changed. The service took a while to arrive but when we were ready to order our server was quite attentive. Good happy hour during the week, 5-7PM, including $5 margaritas which were large, and $3.50 for some of their tacos. I have had cheaper, tastier tacos elsewhere, but for being in Brickell this is a good price for happy hour. I had a good experience but what threw me off was that I believe our server was trying to pull a fast one. We asked to split the check, but when I asked my friend how much he had paid for his share, it did not match up to what the total would have been. We asked the server to ring our checks separately and cancel the current charge, but instead he gave us cash from his pocket to make up for the error. One order had to b remade because it was totally wrong. We had to repeatedly ask for refills in water and had to ask many times for chip to go with the guacamole we ordered. This is probably one of the toughest places for me to review because it's such a pro/con 50/50. PROS: The space is beautiful The ambiance is fantastic The concept is great Beef fajitas were "nice". Not great, but nice. But what good is all of the above if... CONS: Upon walking in there were about 5 people at the hostess stand all chatting, we stood there for a few seconds (I felt bad for interrupting) and the girl who sat us was playing with her super long hair the entire time while chatting with her colleagues. (Exactly what I want to see walking into a restaurant) The restaurant was half empty. The hostess wanted to sandwich us between two parties. I requested an empty table in the corner and she said no, it's only for 6 people. (6 children, because not even six 90 lb models fit in there, it's meant for four people) Upon being seated I noticed a lovely half used lime at the top of the lime jar. Yuck. Our waiter was friendly but we didn't understand anything he said. My husband looks Hispanic but he's Middle Eastern, so he speaks no Spanish. The waiter's English was very hard to understand. (Not his fault. But even I didn't understand) And please!!!! DON'T wear SO MUCH cologne to work :( The chips are cold. It's always such a nice detail when you go to a Mexican restaurant and get served hot chips. Not here. The chips were a solid indicator to me that this place was not going to be so great. Guacamole isn't made table side. Another nice detail at many other restaurants. Not here. It was bland and just eh. When the busser wasn't bussing, he was biting his nails the ENTIRE time while standing against a wall, and that made my stomach absolutely turn, and I didn't want to eat anymore, but I didn't tell my husband anything. I ordered the BESO DE LA MUERTE cocktail and it WAS the kiss of death. I tasted ZERO passion fruit or agave. Yes, had smoked mezcal, but this tasted like kerosene with charcoal briquettes. Ugh. The woman behind me ordered the same exact drink and I noticed that she was also having a really tough time drinking it. LONG STORY SHORT: The place is really beautiful, I will give it that. The ambiance here is really great. It's super cute and fun. Also, brickell city center is a really nice plaza. The iPads at the tables instead of having to wait for a waiter is cool because you definitely get your food and drinks faster; BUT it kind of sucks to have to call your waiter over to ask a simple question. Also, you have no one to let you know if something is super spicy or whatever. For instance, I ordered the illumination drink, but I thought it was so nasty. The flavor just was not the sweet mango drink I expected - it tasted like wood chips kind of. I took one sip and was so done, so I called over my waiter and he called over the manager. The waiter nor the manager really understood why I didn't like it (like I was supposed to know that the specific liquor they used was like liquid bacon). However, they gladly swapped out my drink and took the original off the bill. They also did the same for my friend with her mojito. The chips and guac were good, but you'll need to ask for extra chips. The tacos were really yummy! & the presentation was adorable. I really wanted to like Tacology. It gleams from the top story of the City Center, complete with music and mod furniture displayed on the patio, beckoning you in. The 30 min wait for a table seemed to be more evidence that Tacology must hold something great. There are two main pitfalls to Tacology: the service and the food. I'll start with the objective complaint. The way ordering set up is very strange-- you select the food you want to order on an iPad and then the waiter comes up, looks at the iPad, and puts in your order. Why not ask us yourself or just make it totally automated on the iPad? I'm pretty sure they just don't know how to work the system, but it was very awkward. In addition, we were at our table for 2 hours; not because we wanted to, but because we were waiting for our check for nearly an hour (mind you, we asked a second time after about half an hour). The food... we just weren't crazy about it. The tacos we got ranged from OK to downright bad. I opted for the avocado and queso fresco tacos, but the queso fresco was a poorly fried cold block of cheese and the taco was overwhelmed by pumpkin seeds (????). My friend got the beef tacos and said they were just OK. An upside: the drinks here are great! read more

Out of all the restaurant choices, he picked Tacology because he was craving tacos. We were put on a waiting list for two people, gave the hostess our name and number, and walked around. Later, my friend received a text/call about the table being ready. We went back and were seated at the back by the kitchen. The busser was nice and greeted us. I would've thought that the server was going to greet us, but we barely saw him. My friend asked the busser about recommendations and he happily suggested some items and even brought a tablet for us to look at pictures of the dishes. The server was still pretty much MIA. Finally, he came by, didn't even introduce himself, and seemed so unwelcoming. He looked like he hated his job. I ordered the Chicken Pastor tacos and my friend got the Pastor ($7 each dish). When the order came, I was a bit disappointed. The tacos were so tiny. I understand that not everything should be big portions, but to charge $7 for two small tacos? I would've much preferred to go to Taco Bell. However, this IS a restaurant located in Brickell City Centre, so it's expected that everything will be overpriced. The Chicken Pastor tacos were bland and tasteless. When we got our check, 18% gratuity was automatically included in the bill. I've worked in a restaurant in the past that included automated gratuity but we ALWAYS told the customers/guests beforehand about it, and gave exceptional services as well. I'm not a really big fan of Mexican food. But seeing as how this place is in Brickell City Centre, I figured let's give it a fair chance. I can say that this restaurant is amazing, gorgeous, great food and drinks, funky vibe, and it's a good experience....the first time I was here. Unfortunately, when I suggested Tacology to friends for a night out on the town, that's when this place went from hit to miss, because the difference is literally day and night. So, as I said, the daytime experience was great. This place seems to have problems managing nighttime service. People are very much attracted to the open air nightlife vibe this place gives off. Nothing wrong with that. But from what I observed and experienced in my second visit here during the nighttime hours, they had too many guests waiting, the bar was packed, and only getting more packed to the point that we couldn't move around as our groups was waiting for our table, the bar service started to seriously suffer as the drinks started to come to a crawl pace, and the staff was not actively trying to get out of tables that were no longer being served. So, with the lack of additional drinks and any hope of us getting a table after an hour and a half of waiting, we decided to leave. Rather disappointing. While this place is nice, fun with great food, they really need to work on their nighttime service. Especially for the weekends. Will not sway me from coming back here for a re-try. The service system is extremely slow, and set up really weird. We put in an order for our drinks and one app. Then about 15 min later put in an order for our food. one set of tacos came out within two minutes, and we still didn't have any drinks, or our appetizer. The only good tacos we had were the barbacoa. We had the fried shrimp tostada which was good, just wasn't expecting the shrimp to be fried, but that's my fault. Also had the pork belly tacos which I thought would come cut up at least a little bit, but was just one big chunk of pork belly on a tortilla. The flautas were extremely dry. Queso was a bowl of meted cheese that came with tortillas, not actual queso dip with chips super disappointing. The food came out before any of our drinks or our appetizer. Awesome ambiance, however, could be better. Came here on a Saturday afternoon with the beau for a nice, relaxed and late luncheon. The atmosphere was great, trendy, divey, very hip with a huge TV screen playing music videos. The restaurant was also very spacious, with an indoor space and very nice outdoor terrace. The indoor space though was opened to the outside so it became pretty hot as the restaurant became more crowded. The decor and the presentation of foods were very impressive, however, food selections and service needs improvement. To start of, we ordered the queso fundido appetizer which tasted alright, compared to other places we had tried. I got the Asada steak tacos and my fiancé ordered the Barbacoa tacos. While he enjoyed his barbacoa tacos, mine was a bit spicy with avocado sauce which was not written on the menu nor told by the waiter that it would have a little kick in it. We also ordered a hisbuscus tea and a Diet Coke which were overpriced for some simple non-alcoholic drinks. Additionally, there were numerous selection of tacos but they should expand the menu for other specialties, for example, taquitos or flautas. Our waiter, Juan, was good -- very nice, proper and helpful, came to our table constantly to check up on us. However, the busboys/busgirls were too on point and efficient with picking up our dishes/food that I wasn't even done eating and they were picking/taking my food away. I had high expectations given that Tacology is from the same owners as Cantina La Veinte. But I was utterly disappointed. Our waiter "Mr. Dolphin" as they call him was very nice, but when he came to get the order we didn't even have drink menus, our appetizers arrived and we didn't even have water in our cups. Not even the margarita I had ordered arrived. Everyone else had their drinks but mine wasn't there yet. I reminded the waiter twice. First time it came on the rocks and I had requested it frozen. Maybe 10-15 minutes later it finally arrived. Thankfully it was removed from my check. It was pretty much my dessert! It was a pretty darn good margarita and bigger than most. For appetizers we had a chicharrón (very delicious) which was huge! We also ordered the Mexican nachos that come with shrimp and the guac and chips. As entrees we ordered the tacos al pastor, rib eye tacos, red snapper ceviche and a rock shrimp tostada. Everything was good. I wouldn't say "amazing" but good. We ordered some patron shots to end the night. $52 for Four shots!!! Ridiculous in my opinion! And a little watered down. I'd consider giving this place a second try only if the service improves because it was a really stressing visit for me this time around. Okay. So I am currently sitting at this overpriced restaurant. It's no bueno. Bland food. Cheap tasting. Poor menu options. BUT at least you can take pretty Instagram photos? The atmosphere is great. Come here for a drink or two before you go out. But for the food? No. Don't waste your time or your money. Imagine taking a chicken nugget, removing the flaky coating, and placing it in a tortilla. Oh Tacology... I have mixed feelings about you. SO as a date place, I TOTALLY see the appeal and I'm super into it. The decor is amazing and it such a cute little place. As for the food... I'm always disappointed by the tacos here. They are just so eh... for how EXPENSIVE they are and they are so teeny that it bothers me. I end up spending so much money because I not only have to eat here but also have to eat somewhere else a little later since the food isn't filling enough. Their margaritas are good, not amazing, and pretty big but again, the price point is a little on the high side. Overall this place is MEH to me. I found this place through Instagram and am so happy I did! The atmosphere is a dream. They present their food so creatively and everything we ate was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend the guac trio and shrimp nachos. Drinks were amazing as well. You order everything via a tablet - so technology forward and cute. Hip, fun, modern tapas style spot at the top of City Centre in Brickell. You have a waiter but can order from your own personal tablet and the food comes fast. Everything is tapas style, 1-4 items per plate so it's a great spot to go, share and try, well, everything! Stopped in on a Monday and like most other Brickell spots it was busy but we still got a patio seat right away and the service start to finish was spot on. For starts we went with the ceviche and guacamole samplers. Both, included three of each item and there was plenty to share. In particular the seasonal guacamole with quinoa was tasty. For entrees, we took some taco recommendations and tried the shrimp with hot sauce which was absolutely amazing, the steak which was tasty and the pastor with pineapple which was also delicious. Honestly, everything here was good and it all came out so fast. The cool thing about this spot is that you can order a dish or two, eat them, and then order more if you like. It's very laid back but also quick enough to get what you want when you want it. I will say that the prices are high for tapas style however they are on par for the Brickell area. read more

Located inside of Brickell City Centre, I had to wait for a while to be seated with my friends. Once I was seated I noticed how cute the Mexican inspired decor was and I loved the huge TV that played the latest Latin pop songs. I ordered 2 chicken tacos and guacamole to share, and of course a margarita with an extra shot. The extra shot was $20 and the chicken tacos were unbelievably small. When I received my bill I realized how expensive this place was! I think this taco spot was way too expensive for what it was. read more
